  1.

SmackDown spoiler, doesn't relate much to RAW but relates to the general discussion on this thread of WWE's direction as a company.

Tyler Breeze debuts on SmackDown and is hit with Summer Rae. This company has no idea what to do with anyone. I mean who debuts on a SmackDown these days?

She's a kiss of death. Awful in every respect, and I'd even say uglier than Bayley.

It's harsh to say she's uglier than Bayley, but Summer does have a problem in that looks-wise, she is an uglier version of the prototypical diva. Paige is really good-looking but can get away with physical flaws because she's got her own niche. Bayley's ugliness is part of her gimmick, kind of. And for Summer, the role of Bootleg Lana was perfect -- but separated from that, she'll struggle again.

Do you read what you've written here and feel OK with it?

  2. That's an interesting point actually. The only 'Out of nowhere' title wins are the cash ins now. Which I guess really aren't out of nowhere as we all know they're coming eventually. A lot of people were predicting Rollins anyway.

Will we ever get the title change hands on TV again? In fact when was the last time that happened?

  3. I've cheated in the past. Used to a lot.  Had a conversation with a friend of mine who had done the same and we both said the same thing about it. Yes there is an element of ego and just seeking sexual gratification out of it, of course there is.

But we both found the driver (beyond the first time) is that cheating itself becomes somewhat addictive. The secrecy, the skulking and the fact that it's wrong.

It wasn't as much about the sex, I cancelled plans on my partner at the time (would have had sex) just to go have sex with someone else.

And yes, I'm aware it made me a complete arsehole at the time. I haven't cheated on my partner of now 18 months at all. I'm not saying it'll never happen I just don't have the desire too at the moment. Maybe that's down to maturity, or having gotten it out of my system at a younger age, maybe I'm just happier in this relationship and care more about his feelings. Who knows?

  4. So glad I found this topic for my first post. Social media has made me hate certain people in the wrestling business with Foley topping the list and Jericho being a close second. I was tempted to go to one of his shows and a meet and greet, and after reading all this I'm glad I decided not too. What a moany, whiny embarrassment he's become. What really annoys me is how personally offended he gets about all the hate that Cena gets. I was watching Dusty Rhodes HOF Speech recently and Dusty mentioned Cena and everyone booed. The camera showed John laughing because he doesn't care, but Mick was behind him visibly upset and moaning to who I assume is wife.

I also watched Cheap Pops on the Network and he told some lame story that I can't remember but the punchline was something that his son said. The camera showed his son during crowd reactions and he said to his Mum "But I never said that"

He tweeted Russo yesterday saying he was glad Russo enjoyed his son Deweys wrestling writings and how he wishes WWE would take a chance on a Foley in creative. Urgh

Mate this may come as a shock to you . . . but comedians make stuff up.

  5. Yeah that was interesting. I've never seen any of his work and only heard of him about 6 months back.

It's an intriguing period for NXT going forward. You've got Balor as #1 contender again, Owens & Joe are hopefully going to be knocking seven shades out of eachother, at least one more match between MurphyBlake and Enzo & Cass, a strong women's division

On the flip side of that you've still got useless Mojo Rawley to come back, Solomon Crowe is shit, The Vaudvillains seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth and I'm not sure what else you can do with Tyler Breeze

Is it time to call him up possibly? For some reason  I really like the idea of him having a mini feud with Fandango on coming up and then moving onto Neville in jealousy that Neville made it before him angle.

  6. I think the real kicker was during Punk's reign where Cena headlined over the WWE title matches wrestling such opponents as:

    Big Show,

    John Laurinitis,

    Kane

    MITB match

(He also wrestled Rock and Brock but those are obviously fine)

  7.

What the hell was up with that Battle Royal on (Challenge? Superstars?) which was just the Rock vs a bunch of jobbers?

This must have been a month or so before he won the belt. I can't imagine something like that being booked nowadays.

It was Shotgun. It was taped on the same night as the 14th September 1998 Raw in front of a MENTAL crowd at San Jose who also went fucking insane when Rock pinned Kane (which at the time was still a big deal which only Undertaker and Austin had managed on TV). It was one night after (IIRC) the Heat (back when stuff still happened on Heat) aired where Rocky ostensibly turned babyface by telling Taker and Kane he was going to kick both their heads in.

The battle royal likely existed purely to reinforce to the TV viewers that "Look! Rocky is a good guy now!" Fucking worked for me, I still have a tape which has the Kane match and that battle royal on it. Hilarious listening to Michael Cole say he thinks "DOA" is going to win (because he doesn't know whether it's 8-Ball or Skull) and Kevin Kelly reply "I like Dennis Knight's chances myself" when it's down to the two of them and The Rock. JAPES!

Didn't Rocky lose his PPV match as a face to Mark Henry as well? Seems like a strange booking decision.

  8. Still scratching my head on the Cena/Steph segment. They may as well pull the pin and go full turn if they've gone down this road. The lowest point in character for Cena in my view. I sat watching in a perplexed way where I was dumbfounded where this was going.

I want to see an all in Cena turn if that day ever arrives, otherwise a watered down tweener move would not be worth the tv times. But what the fuck are we meant to be thinking here? Very odd direction!

Yeah this was bat shit wasn't it? Steph should not be playing for cheers against Cena.

I mean FFS this is actually the ONE feud where the heel is compelling enough that the crowd may get caught up in it and actually have the majority get behind Cena (or at least be pro USA).

On the turning Cena heel front, this may be in the offing if they go the way I THINK they might. (I still don't think they'll turn him but . . .)

If Cena walks out with US title. Bryan walks out with the IC title after Mania. Both guys strongly defend their titles up until Summerslam. Unification match between the two. Cena screws over Bryan somehow or snaps after losing. In this (highly speculative) scenario it's still more likely Cena takes defeat like a man.

But, fuck me, it would go a long way to putting some polish on the mid card belts.

  9. Yeah but the Headbangers made it on to WWF Warzone.

How many people on the planet ever picked them though?

I did the career mode with Mosh. 'beans mode' seem hilarious to the young me, although the novelty did wear off very quickly.

See I'd play as Mosh but wouldn't even consider Thrasher.

    No idea why . . .
