  1. So any help guys? I'm not sure if there is a thread specifically for pc/laptop issues but thought tech would probably cover it.

So, I have the dreaded 'No internet, secured' bollocks going on at the moment. Usually I'll switch between my 2G and 5G connections and it solves it. Failing that, other than trying to Google it, and unticking the internet protocol - IPv6, all my (non existant) solutions are exhausted. I have a friend who usually helps in this area, but lockdown!

So, anyone savvy enough to help out (in as rudimentary/easy a way as possible)? Don't have a smart tv so without any other thing to watch streaming services on, this is going to be a very long lockdown period for me. About as long as this post actually!

I would imagine it’s to do with hugely popular  Packers quarterback Brett Favre whose career overlapped Hart’s.

Of course. I feel a right twonk now!

It happened with Rick Flair as well. Just people becoming set in their ways after encountering the other spelling first, and lacking the intellectual capacity to entertain multiple versions of the same name.

Seen it less with Sean Michaels though.

Yes, I knew there was another one. Couldn't think of it though.

To the other answers, fair enough I suppose.

  3. I've seen it written recently, but I've never understood how some spell Bret Hart's name as Brett. It's a long time since I've read his book and for the life of me don't know where it is to find it out, so if he was born as Brett then fair enough.

Please don't misinterpret this as being a bit spelling dickish,  it is merely pondering on my part. I've just found it strange when you would have the odd poster at live events spelling it with a double T, when for a decade plus he was high profile enough to have his name plastered around to a fairly high degree.

  4. With the exception of Ringside Collectibles and wrestlingshop, is there anywhere else to purchase the Retro's?

Can't justify the top end prices with the s&h on top. Missed out on the dirt cheap prices a couple weeks back.

I just watch AEW at the moment.

I used to watch every single WWE show without fail for around 10 years straight. Even the Divas season of NXT! I didn't gradually fall out of love with it either. I watched Wrestlemania this year, thought it was dogshit, got incredibly bored during the Raw and Smackdown following it and just stopped. I've caught a few highlights since but nothing has given me the urge to tune in again full-time.

I'll be honest, the whole Ashley Massaro and Saudi shit-show situations this year also left a bad taste in my mouth regarding WWE. Not to the point where I'll swear to never watch again, but just enough for me to think 'AEW will scratch the itch for now'.

Probably be a full-time viewer again once Scarlett Bordeaux debuts.

    That part in bold.

Since about 2013-14 my viewing habits have waned little by little each year. This time last year/early this year I was seriously contemplating next year's Mania. Watched this year's, and in that moment realised WWE is not for me any more. I will read through certain results/happenings on here from time to time. But I've not been arsed really since.

Currently, I watch AEW in bursts (each episode), whilst far from perfect it has elements of what I look for in a show. Not a big fan of the flippy-floppy parts. Nor am I really intrigued with the hard-core shit from the last PPV. Dislike the modern wrestling fan and their tastes and the fact wrestling seems to be more catered for them. So can't see me jumping on board with anything proper full time anytime soon.

So to answer, AEW ff in about 45 minutes. Before 2014, RAW and PPVs more often than not. And then pre 2007, probably everything.

  6. I know the Conrad pods divide opinion. Personally I quite enjoy them, however... the Tony Schivone 'What Happened When' podcast has become utter bollocks. I'm a huge fan of big Tone (the commentator), but the idea of his show has followed the watch along aspect for the last forever. They spend all their time talking utter nonsense, with not so funny (in) jokes. A 2 hour recording will have maybe 10 minutes discussing what they're watching. I tapped out months ago on this particular one. Do people enjoy this?

In contrast, I listened to his Stunning Steve Austin episode the other night, one of their very first, and was surprised at how different it was. Like night and day, actual discussion on the subject matter at hand. Will give a listen to the older wrestler profiles, but as for the watch alongs... fuuuck that!

  7. For me, It was some time during spring 1991, so I'd have been 7. My Aunt and Uncle lived a good distance away. So when we would visit, it'd tend to be stopping over for a few nights. We'd been there a couple of hours at this point, my cousins were out playing with school friends. To keep me occupied, my uncle put on a video which was part of a collection. Was intrigued by the Roman numerals on the sleeves. Settled on the third 'volume' , by the time we got to the Bundy/Jim/midgets match. I was hooked. People can recount Hogan, Warrior or Savage getting them sold on wrestling, but for me I was mesmerized by those individuals. Shortly after watching WrestleMania III, my auntie brought down the Hasbro's and ring. I was hooked on giving the figures a '360' outta the ring (cheers Gorilla, for ages I thought that was the name for that move and not a clothesline!).

As the months went on, I had no way to expand on this phenomenon until another auntie recorded several episodes of All American Wrestling for me. Now, I truly was hooked on Warrior, Savage and Perfect. My first Hasbro was Greg the twatting Hammer Valentine and jumping Ultimate Warrior. For that years birthday I was bought the ring (which came with bearhug Hogan), Randy Savage and Texas Tornado. With birthday money, I went out and bought Perfect, LOD, Nasty Boys, Bushwhackers, followed those up with my first VHS, called something like Grudges, Grunts and Gripes.

A couple of months later, I was heading to Sheffield with my Dad to watch WWF live and a main event of Ric Flair and Randy Savage.

    Fondest of memories...

  8. I only ever really watch the network through my ps4, tried to watch something yesterday and wouldn't play anything. I am still subscribed, I was logged in but every video had a lock symbol. Logged out to no avail. Guess there are major issues amongst all varieties of reasons as of late then. Not good enough.

  9. Must have been one of those stop gap catalogues then? Or am I right in thinking they used to do a spring/summer, autumn/winter version.

Definitely was advertised in the catalogue though, the reason I know is because I wanted Yokozuna (sold out), then I chose Lex Lugar (sold out), so had to 'settle' for Bam Bam. Was just those 3 to pick from, and definitely was Argos based on location of the shop.

  10. Am I missing something? I'm 99.9% certain I bought a Texas Tornado and Bam Bam Bigelow Hasbro (amongst others) from Argos. Can't see them anywhere though! Lesser so but I seem to recall the first jakks being in there too. Remember the HBK, Bret and someone else there.

    Is this my Mandela effect?!

  11. Thanks for the info.

I did think (and wouldn't have paid) $75 was steep. Will have to be more proactive for next Florida visit, don't really fancy chancing a visit on Wednesday. Never mind!

  12. So, I arrived in Florida again yesterday. And for the first time, seeing as this holiday is less about visiting the parks we want to explore a bit more variety, I'm contemplating NXT. For those of you that have attended a show here in florida, I've had a quick browse for tickets, only have them popping up for $75 a piece. Is this a standard price? And would they be available at the venue on the night? Or have I left it all a bit too late?

You’ve never seen his turn in Kick Ass then. Or Face Off. Or Con Air.

Totally forgot about Kick Ass, but I maintain what I say. And yes, I thought of Face Off and Con Air. Just not for me I'm afraid.

  14. I am well aware to one or two forum members this is gonna be highly controversial but....

Nicholas Cage. Outstanding in Leaving Las Vegas, but everything else. 😩😩😩

  15. Having recently come across the 'Metal' series from DC. What is the correct order to read them in? And what's the concept?

Are they to be read before a certain range of issues? If I'm correct in what (admittedly) little research I've done, they're to be read before Scott Snyder's Justice League run. Is it the same for other titles too?

I've been out of the loop the last several months or so, these have seemingly cropped up on me out of the blue.

  16. Asking here rather than clogging up the Wrestlemania 35 thread (as question is in regards to WM 36).

I've managed to persuade my (soon to be) wife in attending WrestleMania next year (she isn't a fan). It helps that it's Florida, as we've been several times in the last few years. Anyway, at what point do the wrestlemania tickets usually go on general sale? I've seen sites like Vividseats selling them already but unsure of the reliability. We'd only be looking for nosebleed seats anyway but don't want to be sold dud.

  17. Where are the best (read cheapest!) places for the wwe retro line? After purchasing all series 2 and 3, I'm now seeing the rest roundabout the £13 each mark. Is this standard seeing as they weren't on release over here...?

If so, best websites to buy from? Until seeing these I've never been tempted by figures. Nostalgia rules. I guess!
