  1. Been watching old episodes (late 80's-early 90's) of The Bill that some kind soul has put up on Youtube this week.Forgot how good a show it was back when they had real characters like Tosh,Burnside and Ted Roche.Couldn't stand the recent-ish version that was filled with models and pricks who couldn't act for shite. No surprise that it was cancelled.

  2. Tom is the UKFF's Todd Pettingill this year. Not only forming a list of videos and angles from episodes of Raw into one post, but also hyping the event from the anticipation station that is UKFF Chat. Some of the UK promoters on here could take a few notes from the way you've pushed this years WrestleMania

I'm getting in amongst the people as we speak for all the views. No fake President for me though

  3. Yellow bean is completely different. Mild and mellow. Give the black bean a go though, you may stumble on something amazing!

It's for Char siu pork, if that's any help

It definately won't taste like char siu, but I can't see it being unpleasent.

    Any suggestions?

  4. Making chips in the oven is, I've discovered, ridiculously easy. My dad's on this diet and he uses this OneCal Spray stuff for cooking now. I bought a can of it, and did some chips for him by simply chopping up a spud into chip-like bits, spraying them with this spray, tossing them in salt and pepper, and putting in a very hot oven.

I've realised, bien sur, that this is all "oven chips" are, with slightly different and incredibly chemically coatings, and as Kook says you can experiment with your own at home.

Sounds pretty much like how I make potato wedges so I suppose all that is different is the shape. I use olive oil/vegetable oil instead of a spray though and often leave it all soak with the salt, pepper etc. in a plastic cooking bag/freezer bag for a while before transferring them into the pan ready for cooking

Also, I need yellow bean sauce for a recipe and couldn't find it at all in Tesco's. Is black bean sauce a suitable replacement? Any other suggestions?

  5. I watched Iron Man 2. The usual fun adventure film offering but even in that context it felt a little flat at times but overall an enjoyable film to watch. The first twenty minutes felt like a bit of a mess though; sure we got all the necessary seeds of the story planted but it was more or less scene after scene of Stark throwing parties as Iron Man and generally being a bit of an unlike able fuck, especially in the court scene at times but saying that, that scene was the best part of the opening by far. He was more or less played for laughs but I enjoyed Hammer a lot and there was decent enough chemistry between him and Rourke's character. Rourke just looked cool as fuck throughout, despite a hammy Russian accent. But Samuel L. Jackson was a joy to watch even with his limited role; just a real cut above that guy is. And now I've probably rambled on more than the film justifies

  6. I watched Limitless last night and really enjoyed it. I really like the idea of it although it should have had much more De Niro in it, and they missed one or two opportunities for cool plot devices. I really liked the visuals and bet they looked bloody brilliant in HD; they really compliment the manic nature of what is going on inside Cooper's head at times. It's not going to make a list of amazing films or anything like that, but it's an engaging, entertaining experience

  7. No need to get so touchy. Surely most of the comments in here are nothing posts, including Gladstone's comment too, and there's nowt wrong with that. Plus, if you quoted the rest of my post you'd show that I did actually go on to comment on the incident that the post referencesEDIT : Seems as I'm here, are the regulations on sig sizes policed with less vigour these days as I notice a few sigs are slightly over sized but not in any sort of ridiculous way and I nearly stuck up a sig with larger dimensions myself now by mistake

  8. I really liked the american too. (awful title though)I was surprised when I looked at reviews afterwards as it seems to have a mixed reaction. Its slow paced and suspenseful, its great.

It's growing on me, but at times it felt like it was being slow just for the sake of it. Also some of the plot devices just seemed to go nowhere, although I suppose that's just missed opportunity as opposed to being overly poor and there were some things that I really liked in it tooOne of the more disappointing plot devices to me was SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

the priest; the spiritual talks were just reduced to Clooney constantly just doing the whole "I do what I need to" routine and there not being even any trace of the priest's words having any sort of effect on Clooney. I understand that the whole point is that he doesn't care too much about any sort of damnation that he's going to suffer as a result of his actions but in that case I don't really see why we had to go through stuff like them being silent over a pretty ghastly looking meal. I know it could be argued that the priests words later on wouldn't have been as meaningful if we hadn't of already seen their friendship develop, but it just seemed forced and mostly not necessary. The mechanic being the priests bastard son came across as pretty random too

The film really builds up to a quiet crescendo towards the end though, with one of the things I liked a lot being SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

the growing sense of danger and the way everyone was painted out as a potential threat. The picnic scene with Mr Butterfly's favourite prossie was particularly tense and dramatic, even if it was potentially pretty easy to realise that she only had a gun because of the dangers of whoredom you still got led to believe that she was going to try and off him, for a few minutes at least

Unfortunately, I thought it was pretty damn funny when SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Clooney's would-be-killer blew herself off the roof; the idea of it was good but the execution was akin to slapstick with her just flying off the roof. I did like the idea of him being commisioned to make the gun that would be used take him out though. And the ending was very well done too
