To drag us away from humorous place names and back to the election for a moment. Looking at the electoral calculus website (Thanks Lister) for the first time ever there is a Labour lead in my constituency. I'm not sold that a majority of 32565 is getting overturned but it gives me hope that it could.Â

Does anyone on here go in their own to wrestling shows? I don't know anyone who likes wrestling so I go aloneÂ
I went to quite a few on my own, always tried to not sit near someone who smelled of piss, and seldom succeeded.Â

We had 'Butt Hole Road' where I live but the fun police got involved and now it's called Archers Way.Â
Now it's named after a complete arse and not just the hole.Â

The most horrifying thing about that is that, given his profile in the US and the general horrendousness of the American electorate, I can envision it happening. I know he renounced his citizenship, but I don't imagine he couldn't get it back.
I've just looked it up to be sure and there is a third criteria I didn't know about. You have to be a resident of the US for 14 years.Â

sullying the good names of Hacker and Lauren but still good.Â

Boris needs to be more ambitious. First person ever to be British PM and US president.Â

But are convicted felons allowed to run for office?
The only conditions for running to be President of the USA are that you have to be 35 or over and born in the United States.Â

These just sound like genuine place names in Buckinghamshire to me.
To me as well. Just normal place names. I live within driving distance of Mavis Enderby, Thompson's Bottom and Holton Cum Beckering so South Ribble sounds perfectly normal.Â

hand delivered because you can't trust the Royal Mail since the Tories privatised it.Â

The most village reasoning ever. He's a good bat but give him the gloves because he can't field. I've been there.Â

How do you define normal turnout now. General and local elections are normally in May. The last General Election was in December. The Brexit Referendum was at the end of June, this one is at the beginning of July. In this bubble on here voting enthusiasm is a bit down, but if this place was truly indicative of voting intention we would still be in the EU. Voting intention may be down, but I am aware that I tend to exist in an echo chamber of my own views, and that would have lead to a very different world.Â

Caught the highlights of the T20 yesterday. Its nice to see that even international teams sometimes go full village. Pakistan picking a fat lad who can't catch as wicketkeeper is something you would expect to see in a Sunday game. If he was having to wear someone else's shoes because he'd forgotten his then they'd have the full set.Â

I've never voted for a winning candidate in my life anyway, and I guess that won't change in this election 🤷.
Me either Chest. It's the Tory shires here. My MP is still predicted to win by 5% Labour vote will be unchanged but her majority will be reduced by Reform voters. Even in the great Tory wipeout of 97 the tories still had an 8 thousand majority here. Can't really see that changing. If it does I will have to try and not grin too much at the count. To be honest at 18 quid an hour I hope there is a recount.Â

Someone on Reddit rightly clarified that while this has been spoken about as a hush money trial, it's actually about election interference which is a felony. You would think and hope he's in a terrific amount of deep shit.
If I understand it correctly the election interference is what makes the falsifying of the business records a felony. Falsifying business records is a misdemeanor on its own.Â

Angela Raynor has said that there is no reason Diane Abbot can't stand as a Labour MP and she says that as Deputy Leader. Now the optics look bad.Â

Doesn't have to be a X and doesn't have to be in the box. Any mark that clearly designates a preference for one candidate will usually do.Â

Going to be a super night Eggy old boy. This is how I see it, so if you are having a bet do the opposite because I'm usually shite.Â
Bivol by KO. Zinaid hasn't fought anyone.Â
Wilder by KO. The one thing Deontay is good at is clattering old fighters. I love Zhang but Wilder does him.Â
Hrgovic by KO. Danny Dubious is a lovely lad but Hrgovic is so accurate he'll break Dan down and stop him.Â
Sheeraz by KO. Williams talks a lot of shit but Hamza will set him up with the jab and walk him on to a big shot.Â
Ball on points. Fight of the night for me and the closest fight by far. I can see both winning but just edging towards Ball.Â
Richards by KO. The one time Hutchinson stepped up he got done by Lennox Clarke and Richards is way beyond Clarke. Easiest fight to predict for me.Â
Probably talking a lot of shite but there you go.Â

Why is it every time Labour have any sort of momentum they start in-fighting and shooting themselves in the foot.
As Comrade Houchen says its constant infighting. The one thing that the various groups on the left/centre left/centre hate more than the tories is each other. Real People's Front of Judea vs Judean People's Front (Not under Corbyn obvs) stuff. The Tories do it as well but usually they galvanise those groups together to win the election they face. That is a major part of Rishi's problem this time around, he can't get the various groups to fight their common enemy in Labour and its got so bad that one of the groups has set up its own party in Reform. I'd imagine Labour will self harm less than the Tories during this election campaign, they are just getting it out of the way early.Â

I have a number of friends in the forces, from reasonably senior officers to infantry and none of them are in favour. As Dazzler says, no one likes a clock watcher.
