Tennis makes me angry everytime I see their name pop up.

Is that was because you were born and raised on the mean streets?

It's been bad since day 1. People were being rather optimistic when Matt Jackson's wife left that there would be a significant change for the better.

Haven't they just signed a new COO who used to work for WWE as well as lots of other places including Clemson University. You would hope that he will put a more professional structure in place, but I think he only started 2 days ago so he might need a bit more time to turn it around.

  3. I have been thinking about whether i hold any specific grudges against other people or places and here is why.

I was talking to my mum this morning, she's amongst other things a big boxing fan and we were talking about the Wardley v Clarke fight coming up on Sunday. As you do the conversation spread out to more general boxing and she returned to one of the boxers of yesteryear that she absolutely fucking hates. Joe Bugner.

Now you may be thinking that's where the grudge part of this comes in and you'd only be sort of right. It turns out that my mum and dad had a bet before the Bugner v Ali fight in 1973, my dad bet her £1 that Bugner would be World Champion during his career and she bet he wouldn't. My dad never paid up on that bet. Even after Big Frank battered Bugner in 1987 my dad wouldn't pay, saying that Bugner still might make a comeback, which he did in 1995 fighting 9 times over the next 4 years so he still wouldn't pay up even though he was fighting nowhere near World Title level. His last fight as it turns out was in June 1999 but more importantly my dad lost his fight with lung cancer in September 1999, still having not paid up.

Now they say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but my dad was a cunt. He did loads of horrible shit in his life, some of it to my mum and they were long divorced by the time he died. She holds no grudge against him for any of that, not the lying, the infidelity, the thieving, the list goes on and on. The only thing she cares about was that he didn't pay the £1 for Joe Bugner, it still makes her genuinely angry.

I don't think I hold that kind of hatred in my heart for anyone, though perhaps there are a couple of people who might bear a grudge against me. One thing I am reasonably sure of though is that there are folks here who might hold a grudge. Does anyone want to get it off their chest? It might make you feel better, or it might reinforce it.

Terrible, woeful, and it really brought the down the quality of the show.

That looks like enough merch for the total of last night's crowd to be fair, and that does bring down the quality of the show. That tinny crowd noise of not many people in a big arena really detracts from the quality of the show. There were some enjoyable matches that would have been even better if they weren't put on in front of one man and his dog.

One thing that stood out as dogshite in an otherwise good match was that dive over the top rope to hand stand on the apron, to hurricanrana that Swerve did. That looked fucking awful and does not need to be repeated.

For reference, here's historical Drew. TWC? Skinny Wade? All the arrows.

Who is the lad who isn't Drew or Wade?

McAfee giggling away like Winnie The Pooh is the exact kind of thing that stopped it being 10/10

McAfee giggling away like Winnie The Pooh is the exact kind of thing that makes it an 11/10. I understand that he is marmite but every reaction is genuine and he is just a massive fan who happens to have the commentary job.

His time in America has made his accent very strange too

Drew's accent is a bit like his face. All over the shop and not getting better the longer he spends in the US.

  7. All the things that were said were bleeped or muted on the 9pm version of Raw tonight on TNT Sports. The only thing that I noticed that they cut completely were the references to Cornette's podcast. That is some petty shit. Speaking of petty shit though, loads of full arena shots, which I assume is their way of having a dig at Antonio Khanoki and AEW ticket tribulations.

  8. When the structural engineers on the scene use the word "Flimsy" to describe the construction of the bridge it can't come as a surprise that it fell down like that, and I don't know about you lot but when I cross a bridge I like to hear words like "Robust" or "Sturdy" not "Flimsy" regarding its construction.

  9. I seem to have gone to sleep last night and woke up this morning some time in the late 90s. Swearing️ blood️ wild brawls️ a full head of hair ️ well I guess you can't have everything.

Becky's punch was a beauty. Fair play to Dom, there is no amount of arse he isn't willing to show. Whatever they ask him to do he does it 100% There are plenty of other guys whose ego would get in the way but Dom knows his role perfectly.

They really turned it up to 11 this week. Keeping that going to Mania will be a challenge, but let's try and enjoy the ride.

  10. I just get the feeling that Big Fraze is the new Audley Harrison. Loads of amateur experience but lacking the real hunger for the pro game. Fabio wants to prove people wrong and isn't scared to take a shot to give a shot. Fraze might be in some trouble.

This is clearly all very exciting, but I think the unspoken truth is that it's returned boxing to the cartel era - something that 5 years ago Frank would have been horrified by, given he was the first cartel breaker.

Boxing in this country is now a co-ordinated operation between Matchroom and QP, funded by His Wonderfulness.

I don't really have a point, other than it's a bit mad and not something i'd have predicted.

It's all mad. To think that Frank and Eddie had never spoken to each other let alone met before Turki flashed the cash. Both of them like a pound note though so they quickly overcame that. Boxing really has been taken over by the Saudi money. It used to be where could the most TV money be made and the answer was always Sky for the past 30 years or so really. Sky look all at sea now though. Ben Shalom may be a nice bloke but Frank and particularly Eddie are eating him alive. Hearn suggesting thst Sky will drop Boxxer when the contract runs out at the end of the year in loads of interviews after the Dalton Smith fight. Shalom hasn't helped himself by barely giving interviews and pulling out of purse bids that he called for. If Fabio Wardley beats Frazier Clarke I do think that Ben will cry.

Personally I think there's only one guy on the roster with the sort of charisma you need to stand up to The Rock, someone with undeniable kavorka.  Rocky may have the flowery shirt, but he has the shoes of a champion.  Yeah.

Attitude Era by Temu is having enough trouble dicing with the body of AJ Styles that's possessed by the ghost of Randy Savage. The Rock would eviscerate him.

  13. Bring back down votes. Not for the tweet which is exactly as you'd expect but for bacon for giving her the oxygen of publicity. Fuck off to the Mail online if you are going to post this shit.

  14. So the undercard of Beterbiev v Bivol is going to be the Matchroom v Queensbury 5v5. They've chosen the weights this afternoon. Frank has chosen Heavyweight and Middleweight. Eddie has chosen Featherweight and Light Heavyweight. Turki has also chosen Heavyweight. The fighters will be announced in a couple of weeks. Each fight is worth 1 point to the winner. Each team chooses a captain and if they win they get 2 points.

They also floated the idea of a show at Wembley in September as an advert for Riyadh Season, that would have a similar deal to the 5v5 plus a big main event which you would have to assume is Fury v Joshua if Fury wins

Exciting times. Wouldn't mind seeing Nick Ball v Leigh Wood at Featherweight.
