  1. If you've been following wrestling as long as Pitcos seems to have, you'll know who Corino is. Whether it be a related link, news story, his time in ECW, articles, his shows in the UK and Japan or EWR, you'll have come across him (oo-er!). Some of the more casual fans I know know who he is.

That'd a bit of a daft thing to say in fairness. Just because someone has been watching wrestling a long time, doesn't mean that they know every bloody wrestler on the planet. I wouldn't know who Steve Corino is if i hadn't been to 1PW. Ive been watching wrestling since the early 90's and haven't heard of the majority of people on that PWI 500 list.

    EDIT: Carbomb said it better.

  2. Anybody catch the new episode of Fresh Meat looks to have picked up from season 1. Jack Whitehall is doing a big fat U-turn in my book his great in F.M.

I never would have imagined that Jack Whitehall would have been my favourite character in anything, but he is superb as JP. This weeks episode was much funnier than the first series. JP teaching Giles how to act Northern was the highlight.EDIT: Sons of Anarchy: Onto the last few episodes of series 3. Watching on Netflix and realise that series 4 isn't on there so just been out and bought series 4 for
  3. Nick, I'll add Burley in as an additional for you, since you appear to have intended her inclusion on your list. She'll get 1 point for that, which will be the only point she has received so far. As it stands, with 10 ballots received, there is no clear front runner, but an interesting looking top 5 if it remains similar to its current state.

    Aces, thanks alot.
  4. Was just about to start a new thread for Working Holidays and Travelling abroad, but was unsure as to whether there was already a thread for it. I used the search function but couldn't find one, only a 'teaching English abroad' thread, so thought maybe its best to ask if there is one before starting the thread.

So, is there already a thread for this type of discussion?

  5. From TMZ.com

A mother will do anything to protect her kid -- just ask former "Shark Tank" winner Shelly Ehler ... who's picking a fight with a 6'5", 239-pound WWE star after he made her 8-year-old cry.

Ehler -- who scored a $75k investment on "Tank" for her ShoNo towels -- has a serious beef with Alberto Del Rio ... who snatched her son's handmade sign during a WWE event in Anaheim, CA this weekend ... and RIPPED IT UP (or at least tried to).

In the video (above) Del Rio isn't quite strong enough to rip the sign in half (it is cardboard) ... so he takes off small, pathetic, chunks instead.

FYI -- it's standard practice for the wrestlers to interact with audience members "in character." In this case, the sign was pro-Sheamus ... the wrestling arch-nemesis of Del Rio.

But TMZ spoke to Shelly, who says her 8-year-old was terrified by the wrestler's actions and instantly burst into tears. She adds, "Del Rio is a bully. I looked at him and said 'he's crying' ... and he mocked him."

Shelly -- who says her 8-year-old cried all the all way home -- vented her frustrations to the wrestler on Twitter and then fired off a an angry letter to the WWE.

In the letter she says, "Take signs from adults NOT KIDS! My son was bullied by your superstars and it is not okay."

Despite her demands, Shelly claims she's heard crickets from Del Rio -- but his manager tweeted her back and said, "lol blah blah blah."

FYI -- as soon as Shelly contacted Sheamus about the incident ... he immediately offered to send her son a signed photo and meet with him next time he's in town.

  6. From Wrestlezone.com

Former WWE star Dave "Batista" Bautista appeared on "MMA Uncensored" last night, and when the topic of returning to WWE came up, Batista said he would be open to returning to the company, but after the PG era comes to an end.

Batista said that he left WWE on good terms and the door is open for him to return, but he furthered that by saying "let's hope the whole PG thing blows over so I can go back and do wrestling the way I like to do wrestling."

Batista went on to say that he would like to work with The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar in WWE.''

Just thought this was abit of a weird thing for Batista to say. It's not like he was having blood-heavy, hardcore matches when he was last in WWE. He was a major fan favourite and was over big time with the kids (obviously until his awesome heal turn).

  7. Watched Kalifornia on Saturday night. Wasn't sure whether I would like it but popped it on anyway. Brad Pitt is great in it isn't he? It didn't even register for the majority of the time that it was him playing Earley. He was a bastard as well.

Was abit slow to start but after about 30 mins, I was hooked. Brilliant film.

  8. Thanks for the reply.

I saw that the guy who cut the promo against Levy whisper something to Knuckles but has no idea that was Ian Rotton.

I watched the whole match and it truly was sickening. How I hadn't heard of it previously I havent got a clue.

How anyone could go to the extent they did with another human being, whether it be in the 'Deathmatch' setting or not is just horrible and the 'fans' you can hear on camera toward the end saying ''This is the greatest thing ive ever seen'' shouldn't be allowed out in public.

  9. I didn't know which thread would be best to discuss this so I thought I would start here as I know you guys are more in the know about the deathmatches and what not.

Ive just watched 'The Mike Levy incident' after seeing it mentioned on Wrestlezone.com. I haven't heard of it before so gave it a watch and while the match itself was abit hard to watch, what happened after the match actually turned my stomache and was a real watch through the cracks of your fingers moment. Mike Levy (Im totally unaware who this guy is) gets totally messed up to the point that you actually think he might end up with serious long term damage. Those Kerb-stomps were horrendous and the suplex onto the legs of the commode made me actually think he may get impaled.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the whole story of why he got that kind of beating? I understand he was no selling some of Mickie Knuckles (who I only know slightly from her 'Moose' days in TNA) offence but the promo after the match was giving the impression that this was premeditated.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, I just thought that you guys in here may know abit more on the story.

EDIT: After Googling the incident, there are some comments saying that it was all a work. Personally it doesnt look to me like a work but is there any truth to this?

  10. Just seen this on Wrestlezone.com, not sure on whether it applies to UK as NXT is still listed on Sky Sports next week but....

    WWE Pulls Mentions of NXT

WWE has pulled all mentions of NXT from the company website, and the reason is likely due to the fact that once it begins airing on The Brighthouse Network, replacing FCW, it will only be viewable for those in the Florida market.

  11. Wrestlezone.com have just posted this up....

F4Wonline.com is reporting that the relationship between WWE and Alberto Del Rio is becoming heated.

Reportedly, Del Rio had a major dispute with a top WWE official and threatened to quit the company. One source says Del Rio is frustrated with his current standing in the company, while a second source claims the incident wasn't a big deal and the dispute was more about contractual terms. A third source believes the incident between Del Rio and management is a combination of the first two reports.

Del Rio is viewed by WWE as having leverage. He has no personal issues with income and could easily return to Mexico as a former WWE Superstar. In the report, one WWE employee questions how legitimate Del Rio's concussion really was. Del Rio was apparently "too injured" to work his match against Sheamus Sunday at the No Way Out pay-per-view but was healthy enough to perform on Monday Night RAW. The employee thinks the concussion was a cover up because of the issues going on between Del Rio and officials. The feeling is WWE would rather claim he has a concussion to get him out of a high profile title match, and not risk Del Rio going into business for himself.

Might have made the company interesting again if Del Rio had legit applied the arm bar to sheamus and made him tap.
