Why the fuck did I build this gaming PC if I can't play a new Red Dead on it and then go around calling people console peasants?

 

Good thing I got my Xbox One because I wouldn't be missing this shit.

 

Unrelated, but playing Mafia 3 has taught me one thing about PC gaming - keyboard and mouse is not better than game pad. WASD for driving in Mafia is giving me a fucked up hand.

Plug in your Xbox One controller. You should be able to select the controller in the settings.

This is only an assumption as it worked in Mafia 2.

Sounds like the previous owner has it set to his home console, maybe? You sure his profile isn't still stored on the console?

Bomberman. Now there's a game I completely forgot about despite being hideously addicted back when I was younger.

Fox are showing a remake of Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween. It features Laverne Cox as Frank N Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet, Adam Lambert as Eddie and Tim Curry will be the narrator.

I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm curious to see how Laverne Cox (who is trans herself) is compared to Tim Curry and David Bedella.

Finished the OJ series last night. Is there any other essential 30 for 30 documentaries I should get watched?

I've given it a whirl. I'm loving it despite not actually knowing what I'm doing. It's pretty fast paced.

So I know I'm about 17/18 years late but I've just started Ocarina Of Time. I've already found myself stuck in the tree. There's a part with 3 bits of land separated by water, a web over a door and a few torches. Now I'm sure I'm to burn the web at the door. But my stick keeps going out when I jump into the water. Bloody frustrating.

Phil Spencer has just tweeted out that they are stopping the manufacture of Xbox 360s. Doubt this is too newsworthy now that we're nearly 3 years into Xbox One. But some folk may be interested.

Getting tired of The Division. They've really fucked this game with all the glitches, and the exploits that have totally fucked the games economy as well as having divided (lol) the player base between people who exploited to maxed up gear and the people who didn't. Then they will fix the exploit, leaving all those that didn't left behind. The next update needs to be a humdinger if they've got any hope of getting my money for DLC.

Her and X-Pac are having quite the twitter argument this morning.

There's an advert on the radio just now that is selling what I assume is a gift card as it lists it can be spent at X retailers. It's a dad and his daughter and as the dad is explaining the deal / product she is shouting out such laddish phrases as "GET IN!!!" "GO ON MY SON!" and the like. It's cringe worthy as all hell.

I bought a code for Assasins Creed Unity on Xbox One for £3.99. I've heard very average things, but for four quid I thought I'd get some value out of it.

 

I logged into Xbox.com on my laptop and clicked to redeem the code. I then opened another tab and logged into my hotmail account to get the email with the code in.

 

I got the code, switched tabs, entered the code and hit submit. Bingo, code accepted but by clicking the button and posting back, my Xbox.com tab had picked up my hotmail account in the other tab and redeemed the code against that rather than my Xbox account.

 

Great. I've been on support chat for quite a while trying to explain the problem. I'm less bothered by the £4 lost and more annoyed that MS are sharing authentication across domains without any warning. Xbox support were useless and wouldn't accept that their system would do that. I offered to step them through the process but they weren't having it, saying it must've been my fault and that the gamertag icon at the top-right will update when the account changes. Well, it doesn't unless you refresh the screen or post back the form.

 

Ah well, not much lost and I can't be done with the arse of setting up another Xbox account just to play what is probably a very average game.

 

But word of warning when redeeming codes if you have more than one account.

This is indeed a thing. However, luckily I've never fallen foul of it. Bloody annoying when it happens though.

Bought my Wii U on Friday. Only have Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Mario Maker and a couple older games at the moment. Going to wait for the Selects range to come out as I believe I'd be buying the same games now at near £40 a pop when I can get them for £16 next month.
