  1. Is the Cornette 97 timeline worth checking out? Seems almost impossible that it could be bad.

He's got a massive filofax listing pretty much everything, and yeah, it is tremendous like any other shoot Corny's done.

  2. That's the one i'll watch next.

Enjoyed the Jesse Ventura shoot although as mentioned earlier, Rob Feinstein was embarassingly uninformed.

The 24/7 roundtable on Raw is also enjoyable but it degenerates a bit into that old habit of 'lets bury WCW' after a while. No need for that nowadays.

  3. I know i'm one of those old farts 'back in my day'....

But after finishing 1997, i've just started working my way through 1998 episodes of Raw and what strikes me is how unpolished everything is, and much more off the cuff. It's also nice to not know what's bloody trending on Twitter too mind.

Also, was it just me who enjoyed the NWA storyline while it lasted?!

  4. 'Big Sexy' Dave Meltzer said a while ago that WWE were interested in bringing Angle back when his TNA contract was up a year or two ago, but then Angle started getting arrested every other month - culminating in him getting accused of stalking Raka Khan while sticking a needle in his arse. Vince then made it clear that he doesn't want to touch Angle.

Shame, we all miss the proper stars TNA have in front of real crowds.

That smacks to me of this attitude some have who want TNA to fail so their stars go back to WWE. Yeah, that'll be good for the Wrestling industry.

  5. Watched a few of these over the last few days. Here's the new ones:

    Guest Booker with Vince Russo:

Vince Russo seems to live in some bubble, where nobodies opinion matters but his own. He's a real obnoxious arsehole on this DVD. This DVD sums up his career as a booker to be honest. He justifies his ideas as "this would be an 8.0, bro ..." There's only so much of that you can take in 2 hours. Its supposed to be a re-booking of the Invasion, but he doesn't want to bring any WCW wrestlers in. Its quite interesting, considering the WWF had the same thought at the time. Russo says "bring in the nWo and have them feud over the fact they left to go to WCW originally". Vince Russo's Invasion isn't an Invasion at all. Its old WWF wrestlers turning up to bitch about the fact they no longer have a job anymore. Goldberg, Sting and Booker T eventually show up, but they are relegated to a six man tag and eventually join the nWo or something. Its good to see that there is someone with a worse idea of how to book the Invasion than the WWF did. Its interesting in a way to make you see that Russo is completely off his tits. Worth a watch if you have the free time, just for the novelty of it.

XWT on my screen and the Utorrent ready to go!

  6. Not sure if this is possible, but it might be a laugh to watch old shows before Monday Night Raw, and talk about it in the chatroom?

Don't know how easy to set up it would be and stream, but we could have a poll or something to decide what old episode/ppv to watch as a prelude to Raw or something.

  7. I wasn't so keen about the story about the Yoko/Diesel cage match though. One thing is getting one over Bill Watts, but short changing the fans is unnecessary.

(Would have been a load of shite match though)

  8. I'm a huge fan of the timeline series, but there are a few gaps at the moment. Any thoughts on who would be good picks?

    Here are mine;

84 Roddy Piper (I would say Jimmy Snuka but doubt he remembers fuck all)

    89 Tito Santana

    90 Bill Eadie

    91 Ted DiBiase

92 Bret Hart (longshot I suppose)

    93 Tatanka

    94 Lex Luger

    96 Goldust

    98 Billy Gunn

  9. I was waiting for a train in Chester last week and was browsing through the magazines. I started reading through it quickly and seriously considered buying it, but then couldn't face the embarassment of walking up to the counter, paying for, and then walking round with a magazine featuring a topless bloke (Randy Orton) on the front.

We've never been the coolest of people to begin with, but do Wrestling magazines have to be so obviously Gay?

  10. Blimey, how brilliant does this house show sound?!
