Yes, and interestingly coincidental timing with UFC founder Bob Meyrowitz bringing back the one night eight man tournament gimmick in the US today with the debut of the new YAMMA Pitfighting show.

  3. Boring.

I'm expecting a good match, but when you've finally got Misawa over to the US why the hell would you put him in a match with somebody he could easily have a match with over in Japan?
What's the option?I mean, apart from the likes of McGuinness and Doug Williams, who are NOAH regulars anyway, who in ROH could have a good match with Misawa in ROH?
  4. The beginner class is also known as the "goof class" and is for people just starting out. Intermediate is trained by Rip Rogers and those are the guys on Derby City Wrestling.

I was watching some of this the other day, and noticed Al Barone, who must be at least 50 years old. Surely the least likely candidate to ever make OVW, let alone WWE, and this was on a show that also featured Sonic and Fang.
Were you watching the big Royal Rumble show?Al Barone was awesome because he looked like no-one else in the promotion. He was like some kind of a cross between Drew McDonald and Mad Dog Vachon! Totally agree that he's the most unlikely person to make OVW or WWE, but damn he was great to watch.
  5. Just read this

    - Joey Mercury has replaced Tank Toland as the lead instructor for OVW's beginning class.[PWInsider.com]

Last I seem to remember, hadnt Mercury got released?
Yes, as had Tank Toland before him.OVW is owned and run by Danny Davis, and they have three levels of class - beginner, intermediate and advanced. Those under WWE developmental contracts are "advanced". Who Danny chooses to teach the intermediate and beginner (i.e. people not under WWE developmental and paying to come and train in Louisville) is entirely up to him - it doesn't matter whether they're WWE employees or not.The beginner class is also known as the "goof class" and is for people just starting out. Intermediate is trained by Rip Rogers and those are the guys on Derby City Wrestling.
  6. A mention that Brookside officially had a match against Vince McMahon himself woulda been nice!

I didn't actually know this. Care to share the story?
Monday Night Raw, Hat Guy... Monday Night Raw...
  7. Also, is Dave the smallest person ever to be given the nickname 'big' in a non-ironic way?

Have you seen Dave since he got out of the pleathers and into a pair of black trunks? He looks like a WALL. A six foot wide wall. A six foot wide wall who HATES THINGS.
  8. Dunno whether you would consider it, Hat Guy, but it would be interesting if you would note beside every entry who voted them the highest in their individual ballot. This was something that the Smarkschoice forum did when they did their countdown of the best wrestlers ever, and I found it quite interesting. For example, Steve Grey might be #49 in the overall ranking, but someone may have voted him #1 or #2 in their list, and that would be a nice addition to the countdown to be able to see that. Perhaps you think the voting should remain anonymous - but it's just an idea.
