  1. If you head to the Old School section of the Vault, they've added a couple of Maple Leaf Garden shows in addition to MSG shows. Only two at the moment (20/10/84 Andre v Kamala Steel Cage Match and 20/4/85 Hogan v Orndorff) and they also added the 21/12/91 MSG show (Hogan v Flair, first time ever?)

  2. Just watched No Way Out 2003 on the network.

    Why did they do the Rock/Hogan rematch here instead of at Wreslemania the following month? Although the WM18 match itself was pretty poor from an inring point of view, it was a considered a big success commerically. Surely doing the rematch would have done great business at Wrestlemania rather than the lead-in PPV

  3. Bleacher Report have published their '10 WCW PPVs to watch on WWE Network RIGHT NOW!'

    * Starrcade 88

    * Chi-Town Rumble

    * Great American Bash 89

    * WrestleWar 90

    * WrestleWar 91: War Games

    * WrestleWar 92: War Games

    * Super Brawl III

    * Spring Stampede 94

    * Slamboree 94

    * Starrcade 96

    * Spring Stampede 99

    There's actually 11 on the list (as they couldn't pick between Spring Stampede 94 & Slamboree 94)

    Rocksteady Games may be revealing its next Batman game in the very near future.

    Kotaku reported that GameStop stores received a shipment of Batman banners this week showing the Arkham logo surrounded in flames. Such promotional materials often precede the release of a significant title. IGN verified the promotional materials with numerous GameStop stores. The story also mentions that a Dutch journalist suggested that he attended a Rocksteady press event held weeks ago, but is not allowed to publish any information from it until March.

    Rocksteady is behind the ultra-popular Batman: Arkham series, though the most recent one, Batman: Arkham Origins, was developed by WB Montreal.

  5. Just finished watching the show. Great show top to bottom.

    * Cesaro/Zayn was great as it usually is when they lock up

    * CJ Parker/Mojo Rawley was probably the weakest part of the show but it wasn't overly long so its not like it overstayed its welcome

    * Ascention look really good (great theme music too)

    * Emma/Paige was very enjoyable.

    * Rusev slaughtering Tyler Breeze and Xavier Woods was great. Rusev has the same qualities as what Umaga had when he debuted. Big guy who can move like a half his size but impact moves look like they will mess you up. Looking forward to seeing more of him

    * Neville/Dallas - Can't believe that is the same guy I saw footage of backyarding in Middlesbrough, shorter than I seem to remember though, or maybe Dallas is taller than I thought. Real good match between them though

  6. Casey Chaos has reformed Amen for a one-off performance at this year's crowd-funded Alt-Fest.

    The renown late 90s/early 00s hardcore crew are joined by fellow new announcements Paradise Lost, Agonoize and Finntroll at the goth-heavy alternative bash, which makes its debut bow this year.

    Alt-Fest takes place August 15-17 and features the likes of Marilyn Manson, Arch Enemy, Fields Of The Nephilim, The Cult, Cradle Of Filth and many more. Head to www.alt-fest.com for the full lineup and ticket details.

  7. Tim Lambesis, the singer for US metal band As I Lay Dying has pleaded guilty to attempting to hire an undercover agent to murder his estranged wife.

    The singer, who initially denied the charge, could face nine years in prison for the attempted contract killing.

    Lambesis, 32. whose formed As I Lay Dying in San Diego in 2000, has sold more than a million albums.

    He remains free on $2m (

  8. Bring Me The Horizon, Within Temptation, Behemoth, Twisted Sister, Sepultura, Fozzy, The Dan Reed Network, Skillet, Tyketto, Winger, We Came As Romans, Defeater, Cage The Gods, Zebrahead, Twenty One Pilots, Skyharbor, The Howling, Zoax, Press To Meco, Collibus, Reignwolf, Radkey, Bad Touch and Monuments

    All added to Download. Full day splits are on the website.

    Also Trivium will headline the second stage on Sunday rather than the Red Bull Stage, which is probably the best idea they could have had.

    Super tempted to head down again this year now with Behemoth added, Opeth headlining on stage two on the Friday and a stacked sunday

  9. Dynamo! Now thats a blast. Dynamo was the daddy of the European festival circuit before Wacken began to take over.

    Dog Eat Dog are one of those bands that people 10 years younger than me claim to remember despite not being around at the same time . They were a band that I remember hearing but not totally investing in. the one track of theirs that I can specifically remember is 'Gang Busters' which I heard on a Roadrunner compilation

  10. just read that Dog Eat Dog will be playing the 'All Boro King' album as their set

    According to The Pulse Of Radio, Kurt Cobain's hometown of Aberdeen, Washington declared last Thursday (February 20) "Kurt Cobain Day" and celebrated with the unveiling of a truly bizarre statue of the late NIRVANA frontman. According to Rolling Stone, the "Crying Cobain" statue, which features a solitary tear running down his cheek and makes him look more like Jesus that punk rocker, was installed in the town's museum and greeted by NIRVANA fans with a mixture of confusion and shock.

    February 20 would have been Cobain's 47th birthday. He shot himself to death on April 5, 1994.

    The statue's sculptor, Randi Hubbard, has reportedly been working on the piece since shortly after Cobain's death. The statue has sat in her auto shop for two decades with art students from around the area occasionally lending a hand to get it finished.

    Town leaders are hoping that the statue and "Kurt Cobain Day" will boost tourism in Aberdeen, even though it is well documented that Cobain disliked living there and was even arrested one time for vandalism.

    A nearby town, Hoquiam, Washington — where Cobain also briefly lived — is having its own "Kurt Cobain Day" on April 10, the same day that NIRVANA will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

    A local news channel, King 5, reported on "Kurt Cobain Day" in what The Pulse Of Radio has called "mocking, disrespectful fashion," with the reporter referring to Cobain as "the well-known heroin addict who shot himself 20 years ago,"

  11. When did so many knobs start going to wrestling shows? What a waste of spunk so many of them were last night. Last years post-Wrestlemania Raw was the worst thing to happen in years in my opinion. Can you imagine what they're going to be like this year?! I'm going to watch the show on mute.

    Chicago next Monday..complete hi-jacking of the whole show is all but assured surely unless Cry Baby Punk returns.

    doesn't really matter when you do it in the show

    'Cult Of Personality' plays, cut to

  12. Just watched the US remake of Oldboy.

    Now before I get to it, I love the 2003 original and enjoyed the manga when I read it. I knew that one day, it would get an English Language remake, I just didn't think it would take as long as it has. When the rights for the film were being bounded about, at one point Dreamworks were going to make it with Will Smith as the lead and with Steven Spielberg set to direct and it was going to be more an adaptation of the manga rather than the Korean movie. Ultimately, Smith and Spielberg dropped out of the project and then it hung in limbo for alittle while before Spike Lee took the helm and it ended up at Film Distrct with Josh Brolin in the lead role.

    Its a shame that the film tanked at the box office ($4.5million gross, $32million budget) and got the negative response that it did, because it is nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be. I didn't even realise it had been released until my wife was looking at the cinema listings online.

    I tried to put my bias for the original aside in the hope that this was an entertaining movie, and it is for the mostpart. Brolin plays the role of Joe Doucett well and Elizabeth Olsen isn't completely terrible. Samuel L Jackson ("Motherfucker" count = 7) also plays well in his reduced role sporting a Viscera white mohawk.

    From the outset, it states that it is 'Based On The Korean Motion Picture'Oldboy', so anyone hoping for the manga adaptation will be disappointed.

    The Bad:

    SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

    - Its hard to feel any kind of compassion for the alcoholic Doucett (Brolin) as for the the opening 10 minutes (prior to his imprisonment) he is an incredibly unlikeable person. In the original, Oh De-Su is imprisoned very early on and you don't get a clear picture as to why he is where is. With Brolin, you tend to have more a felling that he got what he deserved. In the first few minutes he shows up to work worse for wear, hits on a clients woman and misses his daughters 3rd birthday and collapses in the street in a drunken heap which ends with him vomiting on himself.

    - Criminal misuse of Lance Reddick who only appears in one scene.

    - Nods to the original sometimes seem a little forced. Doucett goes to a restaurant and looks at an octopus in a tank. Anyone who has seen the Korean version knows of the octopus eating scene.

    - The Strangers bodyguard - while Mr Han has a couple of scraps with Oh De-Su and is a real badass, here the bodyguard is replaced by a woman (nothing wrong with that in itselfs) but is taken out by Doucett within seconds. This can be looked at in one of two ways, either:

    - Doucett has completely embraced this monster persona within him and won;t stop until he has his vengeance, or

    - shes a fucking useless bodyguard that anyone could have taken out

    - Sharlto Copley (as the films antagonist) puts on a horrendous accent that leaves you questioning where hes supposed to be from in every scene he is in.

    - shows an attempted suicide attempt by Doucett. Whereas before it was only implied (by scars on the characters wrists), here you see him try to take his own life, rather than attempting to overcome his situation.

    The Good:

    - Despite his character being a bit of a prick to start with, Brolin does hold the film together as Doucett. You see him as a dick to start with and want him to come out it at the end as a better person and Brolin does portray Doucett as a changing man whilst still maintaining a menacing undertone

    - Good to see Michael Impererioli again. Thought he was destined for great things once The Sopranos ended, but sadly that didn't seem to happen

    - More or less a direct adaptation with only minor changes (with the exception of the ending).

    - the one-shot hammer fight scene, while not as stylish as before, is still a fun scene in the movie.

    - The Ending: SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

    the incest plot-point is still central in this remake, however the hypnosis element has been removed. So rather than having it end with Doucett going on with his life with his daughter, who is unaware of that Doucett is her father, having a physical relationship, the film ends with Doucett using the 'prize money' from his task to pay for himself to be re-imprisoned, thus leaving his daughter to live a normal life and never find out the truth of their relationship. Whereas before, the ambiguous ending seems to Oh De-Su having to life with his terrible secret, Doucett will take his to his grave

    Like I say, nowhere near as bad as people (or fanboys) would have you believe. I have tried to keep comparisons to a minimum, but its hard to not look at one without referring to the other.

    I know that the original is liked by some on here and disliked by others, and thats fine. If you haven't seen the Korean film, you could well enjoy the US version if you give it a chance
