  1. Tuesday morning, one day before we were meant to be meeting, I wake up to a message from said lady finally confirming what I guessed and that she's been distracted with someone else and can deny her feelings no longer. So I got the 'you're a nice guy, let's be friends, otherwise take care' line.

And with everyone else (bar one new chat) ditching chat with me, Bumble is a more Tumble(weed) at the moment. So it's back on the horse, with more spine, and forward to business.

  2. A legal win for Dixie is probably a massive loss for TNA as a company. Her sticking around will fuck this promotion.

    This.

I guess small comfort for some will be the fact that the lawsuit has laid bare the exact operations of TNA and the fact that Dixie and John Gaburick were acting to sell the staff and the wrestlers down the river. She may have won this lawsuit but those who work under her will never trust her again. Even if WWE are out of the picture for now.

  3. Resurrecting this old dame for a bit of a natter.

The Zimbabwean lady returned from her holiday and has proceeded to ignore my (two) messages and one call attempt. Any more attempts and it becomes pestering, in my view. So I think I can draw a line under that. In fact, the same goes for everyone else I was chatting to or met, except for one. Met her 3 times, and seemed to get close, before she got more busy than she was already. I can only take her word for it. Though the chat seems to be laboured like it wasn't before.

A small part of me (and one or two friends) thinks she has someone else she prefers and doesn't know how to get rid of me through fear of upsetting me.

We are supposed to be meeting up this week, after 3 weeks gap, so we'll see what happens.

    How is everyone else doing?

  4. If this comes off (and presumably Anthem/Fight Network end up with majority/enhanced ownership) then Dixie Carter truly is Teflon.

If it is as it seems, then one is to assume that Corgan will go and unless Anthem have Carter over a barrel, she'll possible come out of this as Head Honcho again.

Of course, if we follow the 'barrel' analogy then maybe Carter has given up the company and will go also? The next few days-a week should be interesting.

Edited in light of Ian's post.

I hadn't considered that it's simply transferring debt. Ouch.

  5. Whether he owns the company or not, what we see from TNA going forward is apparently under the creative direction of Billy Corgan. There has already been a talking point (I'll put it no higher than that) so it'll be interesting to see if the creative momentum of the last 9+ months carries on or if the wheels come off now he's driving the product, as opposed to contributing to it.

  6. And on that note, my Bumble adventure continues. Have met two ladies. Went out with one twice and she sacked me off (I said sacked, you dirty guys).

Met the other and we're going out again this Friday. We seem to get on better but you never know.

The Zimbabwean is still ongoing. We'll meet up when she gets back from abroad and we get on as well.

I actually have prospects, so let's see how I cock this all up.

  7. I saw this report elsewhere. IF TRUE, what a basket case!

I suspect, based on how the story is worded and the fact it is Corgan-focused, that many TNA fans will probably want him to purchase the company by Bound For Glory. What with WWE seemingly only wanting the tape library (as opposed to the company) and perhaps the same with Fight Network.

As said previously, Corgan has said his creative leadership (storylines/direction) begins at Bound For Glory so it stands to reason he wants all the pieces in place by then.

The next couple of weeks are going to be the proverbial squeaky bum time.

  8. So, had my first Bumble date. But not with any of the people I'd previously mentioned. Was matched by the app, she started talking to me soon after and by the next day, we met up. Was nice, and we're meeting up again in a few days.

Another lady I've been chatting with for a little while, I'm meeting up with for lunchtime coffee this weekend. She's pretty delightful so hopefully it translates to when we meet. Lol

  9.

I still wanna know what happened to Bram since Decay kidnapped him.

He was in Scunthorpe last Friday night, it that helps.
Probably negotiating his latest multi year deal.

Sometimes it's just too easy. Lol

By the way, it doesn't appear to have been mentioned, but a couple of weeks ago, Billy Corgan confirmed that what we're seeing now on TNA (though he is a part of the process) is still as planned by the old set up. And that the TNA vision under him will kick off at Bound For Glory.

I guess that accords with something he is reported to have said about slightly changing the look of the Impact Zone.

  10. By way of update (if you call it that) Sod's law is striking again. After things in my family life started demanding my time and attention without compromise (remember my origins and culture associated with it) I've suffered a data allowance expiration and an inability to top up which means I can't use my apps outside the house.

A couple of the people I chatted on Bumble have gone or don't respond now and the one I seemingly get on with most isn't as available.

Perhaps this time is just the dating app equivalent of a 'signalling black spot' but let's hope circumstances aren't about to mess up a potentially good thing

  11. Slowly but surely, I'm making contacts on Bumble, much to my surprise lol.

In have prospective dates with an Australian blonde, a light-skinned French lady and a Zimbabwean lady. All very attractive. I'm very lucky :-)

Knowing me, I'll be inclined to flake at least one of them before anything gets off the ground.

I have to remind myself that it's the 'dating game' and not narrow my options too quickly. Wish me luck. Lol

  12. Made my first 'connection' on Bumble and shock of all shocks, she actually started chatting to me (which probably doesn't sound like much of anything given the premise of the app but I hear many of the women won't chat to the guy, even after matching). I haven't chased her off but my inexperience with these things may tell soon.

  13. Isn't tinder for doing the nasty? What's all this dating nonsense!

I remember reading somewhere (maybe here) in mocking tones that only the UK could turn a hookup site into a dating site. Some kind of ingrained inability to let go of its reserved nature when it comes to sex. I dunno.

As for me, about 6 months after breaking up with my ex, and after a lot of nagging, I relented and am 'putting myself out there' more. More specifically dating apps. A few various apps to serve a couple of purposes. We're all grown ups here so no elaboration required. But I'm hesitant to join Tinder, and chances are that would yield the best results. I guess it's my trait of 'going against the grain' or not 'following the crowd'.

I'm a complete novice as well so despite not being a gargoyle (so I'm told, lol) I'm not yielding much in the way of anything. Wish me luck.
