I had the same score as wandshogun09 and nfc90210, 115-113 for Carl Froch. Great fight.

Fresh Prince fans MUST check out the Graham Norton show from last night. Not saying anymore, just watch it.
Â
Loved this, same goes for the show it comes from.

YEah, I know there's been other great episodes, I was just trying to name ones from this series. Although I'm not sure I'd rate the Angels in Manhatten one that highly. I adore Vincent and the Doctor. That was Richard Curtis right? They should beg him to write again.
Â
I'm with you on The Angels Take Manhattan and yes, Vincent and the Doctor was written by Richard Curtis.
-
The series 5 Weeping Angels 2-parter is all the more remarkable when you know that they were the first episodes Smith filmed. The gravity he gives the serious dialogue is utterly incredible for literally his first outing as the Doctor.
Â
I know The Eleventh Hour was the first episode of Matt Smith's Doctor and it wasn't filmed first, I didn't know that 2-parter was his first episodes. That impressive. Thanks Up Chuck.
Â
Matt Smith's a great Doctor. If I had to recommend three episodes of his I'd go: The Eleventh Hour, Vincent and the Doctor and The Times of Angels all coming from his best series, his first.

Adding to the above:
Â
New Captain America: The Winter Soldier details and Winter Soldier concept art. Really looking forward to this film because of the original source material.
Â
I agree with you that the new Spidey suit is the best one. Didn't expect to see such a difference between the two Marc Webb Spidey suits.

I find this interesting, donno about anyone else. The Rock's held 4 different WWE titles, as far as I'm aware.
Â
The Undertaker's also held four different WWE Championships:

On the topic of MMA clothing I own a UFC hooded jacket (my favourite by far), two UFC shirts, a UFC skull cap and a couple of Tapout shirts.

Well, from what I remember, Terrence Howard had himself to blame for getting canned anyway.
Â
They should've just given the War Machine role to Idris Elba. Guy is big and bad-ass looking, and none too shabby an actor.
Â
I'm not a fan of Howard or Cheadle for War Machine. Idris Elba would have done a great job but I'm very happy he's Heimdall in the Thor series.

I've been listening to the Joe Rogan podcast with Dana White and just had this show spoiled. I somehow didn't even think of the possibility of hearing Bellator spoilers on the Rogan podcast

Well fuck me. We all counted Newton out and we look like a right bunch of know nothing twats. Mo got fucking laid out bad with a spinning back fist of all things. I haven't seen the whole fight yet but I've seen the KO. I don't know if Mo's just got overconfident with all his recent striking training or what, but he's better than this surely. Shocker. Not as shocking as Bigfoot KOing Reem but it's a solid second.
Â
The Bellator 205 tournament is wide open now.

Will the month of upsets continue this weekend?
Â
-
I'll take that. What matches should I be looking for?
Â
Tanahashi vs. Okada (The New Beginning 2012), Tanahashi vs. Okada (Dominion 2012) and Tanahashi vs. Suzuki (King of Pro-Wrestling 2012) are my favourites.
-
Yeah I have to say I preferred the old Best Of format. I've only got Best Of 2007 and 2011 (probably my 2 favourite years in the UFC personally) so I wondered when they dropped the old format. Still an enjoyable watch though.
Â
I own 2009-2011. I've a feeling the format change might be to stop people waiting for this and buy the event DVD's. UFC really fucked up with the change for 2011 as it was a vintage year. Hope the outcry will mean they go back to the original format. No chance of it happening but a 2011 redo would be welcome.
-
Welcome Groovee one.
Â
Speaking of DVDs, my girlfriend got me UFC Best of 2011 and I've been watching it the last few days. It really was, for me, the best year in UFC to date. The FOX deal, the Strikeforce buyout, WEC guys coming in, attendance records shattered with the Toronto show, hugely successful return to Brazil, the rise of Jones, Diaz and Hendo returning.
Â
That's before we even get to the fights. Which were fucking awesome. Right on the very first day of 2011 you had the incredible Edgar vs Maynard 2 war, and that set the tone. I doubt there's been another year with so many amazing fights. From Aldo vs Hominick to Cruz vs Faber 2 to Nick Diaz vs Penn to Nate Diaz vs Cowboy to Edgar vs Maynard 2 and 3 to Hendo vs Shogun. I could rattle off 20 more.
Â
The DVD could have easily been a 5 disc set with no filler. So obviously there are some omissions but they have a fantastic selection of fights. The main feature is cool as well, going through weight class by weight class.
Â
Well worth getting.
Â
Real shame the Best of 2011 dropped the 2009-2010 format which was much better. On those you had short pieces on key moments in the year and more full fights. It's an added shame because 2011 was the UFC's best ever year.
Â
I'm going to re-read the posts on MMA autobiographies. Only one I've read was Randy Couture's first autobiography, a great read. I had a flick through Chuck Liddell's at Waterstones the other day but didn't buy it as I have a lot of books still to read. Didn't know Frank had one out.

In case anyone's interested, CM Punk did a "out of character" interview with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani. He does talk about MMA, but also discusses the state of wrestling at the moment, and his upcoming match with the Rock at the Rumble this weekend.
Â
A decent interview at 25 minutes long or so.
Â
Here's the one mentioned at the start of the above interview as well:
Â
Â
Both worth a listen.

I voted for Rule One's very informative belt thread. One of the best threads I've read in my time here.

Dredd finally finds it's audience
Â
I felt bad about not seeing Dredd at the cinema, despite really wanting to I didn't find the time in it's short run. I read after that as Dredd had flopped it seriously damaged the chances of other low (comparatively) budget gritty 18 certificate movies being made. It was important for this film to make more money on home video and it has, It was sold out in the 2 places I tried to get it on dvd on opening day (but they were HMV and Blockbuster) and more importantly It's sold 650,000 copies on DVD and bluray in it's first week and is the biggest new release and most digitally downloaded movie of the year so far (but it is only January).
Â
Cool news anyway, hope they keep making 80s style violent sci fi and comic films now.
Â
I was able to see Dredd 3D at the cinema, thought it was really good. I was thinking about seeing it a second time at the cinema but didn't have the time. I haven't bought Dredd 3D on DVD yet but I will. Glad it's getting out to people and doing well like it deserves.

Just watched Dark Knight Returns Part 2, wow. The best DC animated movie so far, killer stuff.
Â
I wouldn't have it as the best DC Animated Movie (Batman: Mask of the Phantasm still holds the top spot though I need to watch it again to be sure). The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 and Part 2 are near the top of the list. I strongly recommend them.
Â
I watched it last night. It is very good. To call it the best I can see why people would say that. It's hard to disagree. My fav's are still Phantasm and Red Hood, but DKR part 2 is not far behind at all, just a shame I didn't find part 1 all that great, it's good but DKR part 2 put's it to shame.
Â
I understand why people would say it's the best. The other contenders to that title are Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, both parts of The Dark Knight Returns (I preferred Part 1) and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (uncut version). In the next tier I'd have Batman: Under the Red Hood and Wonder Woman. I also like Batman: Year One but I didn't like the voice for Batman.

The Davy Boy/Lance Archer match at WK7 was surprisingly good, especially the early parts with them dominating. I still think they're both terrible at drawing heat though. Don't want them back in WWE especially if Shelton's returning.

Seeing Low-ki hitman was hilarious and then he wrestled in the suit. And he done pretty damn good too.
Â
Minoru Suzuki is my favourite guy on the rooster, such a scary looking fucker who's great with the facials ad all that stuff. His match vs Nagata was decent but got close to the tedious with all the stiff slaps and kicks. The last slap worked into the finish from Nagata was cool though.
Â
Sakuraba vs Nakamura was the match of the night. There were worrying signs at the start of the match that they weren't going to gel but it turned into a seamless MMA vs Pro Wrestler match. The ME was good but I preferred the previous Okada/Tanahashi matches. I didn't like Tanahashi getting the win but if the Okada to WWE rumours are true I suppose it was the safest bet.
Â
I gotta laugh at Meltzer calling it the greatest PPV of all time. Just recently King Of pro Wrestling was better and so was TLC for that matter.

I agree with all of this. Minoru Suzuki is one of my favourites with his look, facial expressions and selling. Early days but Nakamura/Sakuraba is my Match of the Year so far blending MMA submissions and ground work with pro-wrestling. The knees hit in this content were vicious. I was disappointed in Tanahashi/Okada III, preferring their first two matches (the second is still the best).
Â
Money in the Bank 2011 is the best wrestling show put on recently then Extreme Rules 2012 and NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling over Wrestle Kingdom 7.

Went with Rousey.
Â
You wish.
Â
. Most do .
-
I threw in a nomination for Bendo, but my final vote will go to Rousey. A FOTY candidate in her outing against Tate, where she'd win the title and get submission of the year. A complete demolition of Kaufman, all whilst being courted into a very likely cushy contract with the UFC and becoming the poster girl for Womens MMA.
Â
2012 was her coming out party to the world.
Â
I nominated Bendo as well but voted for Rousey for those reasons. Tate vs. Rousey is my favourite womens MMA fight with a sickening finish.
-
For people who are thinking of voting Bendo just remember, he got a gift against Edgar in their second fight.
Â
That's why I can't vote for Henderson. Bendo went 3-0 in the deepest weight class in the UFC but that decision was bullshit. One of the worst I've ever seen.
Â
Went with Rousey.
-
Tough decision between the first three events. Liked all of them. In the end went for UFC 144, the card I was most looking forward to and it didn't disappoint.
-
World's Nicest Man for me - not only a fantastic post that still makes me laugh, but by a guy who deserves the recognition.
Â
Same reasons why I voted for it. Great stuff.

Great news with Bellator getting shown on UK TV. I haven't watched a lot of Bellator fights but the ones I have, particularly Alvarez vs. Chandler was terrific.
