  1. Hear is my two cents as I have a very similar situation

I fell for a girl earlier this year big time, I thought she was way out of my league (still do because she is) but friends of mine told me even though she was pretty I should still give it a go a sthere was nothing wrong with me as they see me through friends eyes and not objectively

Turns out she had a boyfriend all along after facebook provided that I wouldnt make a total dick of myself by asking her out so I went back to being friends with her and tried to put my strong feelings aside anyway that didnt work, I couldnt stand to be around her becaasue it just upset me and turned me into a angry and frustrated person

It finally came out to her months later and I poured my heart out and she picked her boyfriend whom she had rumored to have split with, little capsules of hope where thrown my way like she clearly isnt happy with her life as a whole but obviosly im not good enough to make her life better or she would be with me, were still friends but only because we are going the same uni and she doesnt know anyone there and needs me as a back up in case she doenst get on with anyone, I care for her deeply still even though I realise deep down she couldnt give a shit about me

Best advice is if you have strong feelings for a friend and it isnt going to end with you and them togeather is dont be friends just walk away on good terms the anger and frustration you inflict on yourself and others is not worth it

  2. right then...help needed!

a friend of mine is getting into MMA, he's a UFC buff right now, but he's completely out of the loop in terms of other promotions and stuff. Sooo ive told him im going to put together a compilation of other fights for him, i'm looking for dramatic type fights, fast ko's, slugfests, that kind of thing...all action.

    So far, ive got:

Melvin Manheof vs Cyborg Santos (Cage Rage 16)

Doug Marshall vs Lavar Johnson (WEC 9)

John Polakowski vs Olaf Alfonso (WEC 9)

    help please :)

    no UFC fights!

Josh Thomson vs Gil Melendez 2

Big Nog vs Josh Barnett 1 and 2 (more a ground game showcase if you want one in there)

Fedor vs Cro Cop (signifcance value)

Cung Le vs Scott Smith 1

    Shogun vs Lil Nog

If you are looking for more fast ko,s just feed him so early Cro Cop from Pride around 2002-2005

Im also partial too Frank Shamrock vs Phil Baroni for the atmosphere, trash talk and enjoyable fight

  3. Ill be honest I quite liked Crash Bash but im in the minority most agreed with Triple A that they should have not bothered, then Naughty Dog sold it went multiplatform for the next generation and the reviews were medicore at best

Naughty Dog due to the fact they only made Crash 1-3 and the 1st Team Racing and recently the first two Uncharted games (Amongst Theives is my favorite game of this generation so far) have a very warm place in my heart

  4. Next game up Crash Bandicoot 2 - Cortex Strikes Back (suggestions are welcome)

One of my favorites growing up and probably would get in my top 5 of all time games ever, ill look forward to that

  5. Oh yeah that was one of the best KO's I've ever seen

    yveskojosh.gif

    Ouch!

UFC 49 was a fine card.Chuck Liddell vs Vernon White was a very enjoyable beatdown and the grappling masterclass put on by Nick Diaz and Karo Parisyan in their fight was a blast to watch.Great fight.

The only fight that I thought was a bit flat was Randy-Vitor 3.Randy absolutely dominated Belfort pretty much into submission. Not a terribly exciting fight but we've all seen far worse for sure.

At least it wasn't as big a letdown as Randy-Vitor 2 with the eyepoke finish less than a minute into the fight. That's gotta be the biggest anti climax to a UFC main event/title fight in history. In Pride it would have to be Fedor-Nog 2 with the head clash/cut stoppage which was a disaster for the 2004 GP Final.

Along with UFC 52 and Pride Open Weight GP Final 2006 my favorite MMA card ever

Chuck vs Veron is till one of my favorite fights ever, loads of knock outs and that grappling masterclass was a nice change of pace, only thing I didnt enjoy was the fact I watched it a year after it happned after getting into MMA at ufc 51, so when Wandy and Couture were grandstanding at the end I knew it was just that so I didnt get excited about a Champ vs Champ showdown like im sure others did at the time

  6. Ive always felt bad for Mclellan, now after reading that I have to admit, not so much

I still wouldnt wish what happned to him on anyone but nothing excuses some of the things he did to animals

  7. 51 was my first caught it on Bravo on 24 hour delay the night of the SuperBowl in January 2005

Cant belive that was 5 years ago

Titowa smy big draw as he was the only dude I knew before watching as Id heard in Power Slam about his fight with Shamrock, Arlovski made a fan out of me leglocking Slyvia and Buentello vs Eilers and Kyle vs Irvin provided two memrable knock outs for a first timer

I was hooked form there and watched UFC 52 a few months later which is still my favorite MMMA card like ever

  8. There are almost always early signs jimufctna24 but they are usually not picked up on or chalked up as kids just being kids.

True I can see that point of view for a lesser crime but with the graphic nature of this crime I belive that there had to be some serious warning signs about the mental state which would make others around them take serious notice

  9. I can sympathise with the mother and her actions and demands to be honest, it really doesnt bear thinking about if I had children if one got killed in such a graphic manner with her son did I doubt even the strongest willed of us would ever truly get over it even after 17 years, so whilst we may not agree with everything she says at least she has a excuse

Whilst I will never say "there just kids" its very hard to fathom how much morals come into play with two 11 year olds, I personally belive that the parents or someone else failed them somewhere along the line because I seriously doubt the orginal attack came from nowhere there must have been signs beforehand and when you get two bad eggs togeather or one bad egg and a troubled easily swayed lacky to lead astray (Colombine is a good example in that principle) the results are always dangerous, espicially when you factor in how young they were as they were at a age at 11 where they had the freedom to these things but not entirely the mora/reality aspect which grows more in your psyce as you get into your teens

  10. There's a girl I work with who is quite possibly the most irritating slag you could ever meet. Every conversation (and by saying every is no exaggeration I assure you) she starts is about sex, knobs or the taste of cum (I shit you not). She's possibly the most wretched female you're ever likely to meet, yet she's convinced that she has the ability to have any man she wants but just chooses to not have a boyfriend. When starting a conversation she finds funny she screeches and cackles like a 5 year old child who's just been told they're going to Disney land. She is immensely proud of the fact that she spends her wages on clothing and other materialistic nonsense whilst her scrounging benefit claiming parents pay for her car and don't ask her to contribute a penny to the household. She is also committed to the idea that those who choose to read books, talk about the news etc. are "freaks" and need to get a life.

"A life" to her consists of coming into work on a Friday evening in a leopard skin tracksuit and rollers in her hair, then the Saturday, going out and getting as drunk as possible, being fingered in an alley by someone who she neglected to ask the name of, sucking him off, then telling her work buddies about it the following week.

    How I envy that girl.

P.S. on 2 occasions, during the U.S. presidential campaign, she stated she will be voting for Obama. I didn't even bother to get into that conversation.

    Ill concur

    Sounds fucking horrible

  11. Bernard Ackah (1-0) vs. Johnny Morton (0-0): K1 Dynamite!! USA (June 02 2007) - will always go down as one of the most infamous fights in MMA history. Johnny Morton was an ex NFL football player, a bit of a celebrity and an excellent athlete all around. He goes up against part time fighter and stand up comedian Bernard Ackah. This was a pre-cursor for the Herschel Walker thing, so it's easy to see why people thought that might end up as a black eye for MMA. This was a total fucking disaster. Morton got laid out cold within a minute, not the hardest punch ever thrown but it put Morton out cold (he's unconcious for several minutes, its actually pretty scary)...as far as first fights on a 'family' based show goes, this was about as bad as it could have been.

Morton then got busted for performance enhancing drugs shortly after and the whole thing was swept under the carpet....but it always get brought up from time to time :p

    070603_morton_hmed_9a.hmedium.jpg

it's worth watching to hear the commentary team scramble to make an excuse for the debacle after the fight :)

    Goldberg was hilarious

"THIS DOESNT PROVE THAT MMA FIGHTERS ARE TOUGHER THAN NFL PLAYERS"

No one was saying that anyway Bill

    - On the Shamrock/Berry debacle I never heard anything and it looked above board but I would not be ata ll suprised

  12. Its my opinion out of the 3 fights mentioned of Shamrocks none of them are fixed but there is corruption involved in one

The Franklin one is irrelevent because apart from a punchers chance to Franklins suspect chin he had no chance anyway, The Buzz Berry one is a fair cop as well too bad it happened in a very dodgy organisation

The Sakuraba one is a horrible stoppage I dont think it was a complete fix but if Shamrock would have knocked Saku down would it have been stopped so soon? Would it fuck just look at the James Thompson vs Yoshida fight where Yoshida was done for ages before it was stopped, Pride was a awesome organisation but they did like to protect there draws

  13. Luckily apart from Sean Salmon and the Dave Legano saga in Cage Rage there have been less and less signs of fixed fights and corruption in recent times

Please feel free to enlighten the uninitiated, such as myself, in regards to what has happened with Salmon and Legano.

    Sure

Salmon threw a fight voluntarily unownst to his oppenent (who was a journeyman at best) allowed him to submit Salmon in a fight last year so he would not sustain much damage so he could train with the wolflair he were bringing him in to help with wrestling to aid Bisping and Kongo

He made the mistake of admitting this "In the second round, I took him down again," Salmon wrote. "He went for an armbar, I defended it [only to prove to myself that he couldn't get it] and then I put my arm back in to give him the win so that I could return to England healthy."

With Legano nothing has been confirmed but the was talk on the interenet and FSM of all places that a rematch against a fighter who had early defeated him and his fight with Kimo were fixed

the quote from a source alledged that Legano was marketable due to staring in films like Harry Potter but couldnt fight a lick I asked a friend who was close to the mma fight game after it happned and he said that he and heard the Kimo fight was fixed, it should be noted though there was no proof and the baldies denied this.

  14. Although very few think there is any validity too it there was talk the Franklin vs Ken Shamrock fight was rigged with Shamrock taking a dive by purposly slipping and Franklin totally oblivious picking the bones

Another intersting titbit with Shamrock is that sometime after his WWE after run a strong rumor exists that he had a very bad coke habit at the early part of the decade during his divorce and a falling out with his adopted father and of course he could get away with that in Japan however this must have subsided by 2002 when he fought Tito in the states due to drug testing in Nevada

Luckily apart from Sean Salmon and the Dave Legano saga in Cage Rage there have been less and less signs of fixed fights and corruption in recent times

  15. Oh yeah and Rampage alledges foul play from officials in his fight with Sakuraba in Pride

I thought Rampage was asked to lose but refused and lost anyway?

This is all im going on below, Rampage was also be rumored to being upset with how thePride official treated him as they mad eit so he had to lose 20 pounds to fight at 195 thus draining him him for the fight thats what I meant by foul play

Prior to making his PRIDE debut against Kazushi Sakuraba (Pictures) in July 2001, Quinton Jackson (Pictures) said PRIDE executives offered to pay him a $2000 bonus if he lost by knockout or submission and did not tap.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jackson said he signed to fight for $10,000, but alleged that PRIDE executives, whom he said "screwed" him over, offered $12,000 if he was finished in the ring by the Japanese star.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm never the type of fighter that would lose for money," Jackson said. "I don't do that. But they told me, 'If you win this fight, you get $10,000.' But they told me -- these are like the two people from PRIDE who got fired recently, I don't know if the president of PRIDE knew about it -- but they told me themselves: 'If you lose by knockout or submission and you don't tap, you get $12,000.'

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I said, 'But what if I knock him out?' and they said 'You get $10,000.' Then I understood what was going on.

  16. I heard Takada vs Coleman from Pride 5 was a work too and it did looked fishy to me.

Searched out that worked fights comp and the above is on it. Full listings are:

Havent heard about Charles vs Vitor though anyone got any info?

  17. Tank still sells tickets based on his performance at UFC 6.

    was Taktarov/Marcias really a work?

what other works were there in the UFC? i know there's one involving Don Frye/Brian Johnston (i think it was that fight).

There is a story about one at the UFC where Don Frye won

In a semi final it is alledged and belived Fryes oppenent Mark hall who had the same manager as Ftye was asked to let Frye win quick with a heel hook so that he could be fresh for the final and the fact taht having beat Hall twice over the past two years that Hall had no chance in hell

Hall took he dive and later claimed it ruined his lfe and said some pretty twisted things abbout killing Frye, another Mark Hall story in 1999 just after Ken Shamrock left the WWF he ran into Hall at a casino after a comment made about Shamrocks wife, Shamrock beat the snot out of him.

Id recommend Clyde Gentrys awesome book no holds barred for more storys like this as it covers the sport from its early days right up until the start of the boom period
