The closing theme on New Tricks is a cover of a real song. Only noticed because it was playing on the PA system in the local garage at lunchtime!

The Travelling Wilburys are one of the best supergroups ever formed. Roy Orbison, Geoge Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.

My father in law loves them, which is quality enough, but for as long as I worked at Adrians Records in Wickford, my favourite ever job, you couldn't really get any of their stuff on CD and they became stuff of legend. You could only really import something from somewhere and I remember it being £50 or something in 2003, which wasn't to be sniffed at.

Anyways, either way, this tune is quality.

  2. Hopefully fingers crossed get a long overdue promotion and payrise at work in Feb, got a Spain holiday booked with the family and Las Vegas in October for the Mrs 40th with our best mates. Of course, theres a very real chance none of that could happen. So, in reality, seeing me mum properly for the first time in months and getting to natter with my father in law whos the coolest bloke I know.

  3. Bob Holly is indeed great. His book is quality and as a long running joke of Bob being my bro's fave, we booked a meet and greet at WrestleCon with him. Loved a chat, was proper friendly and it was great to chat about his career. He proper doesnt like Triple H though. Something he mentioned about four hundred times in the space of the 8 minute conversation.

  4. At WM24, me and my little brother were staying in the Orlando Universal hotel and we'd creeped out of the main show a tad early to get a cab back. We ran into Matt Morgan and asked for his autograph. He very quietly said 'maybe ask my buddy for an autograph too'. But I couldnt hear him, so he repeated himself three times and then signed my thing and stormed off.

Hs buddy was Johnny Stamboli, but I wasn't aware. If he had told me that Rellik was Killer backwards, I'd have clocked straight away...

  5. Pro Evo plays more like a game of football to my mind. It feels more natural, from the running, the ball control, the passing and the ebb/flow of a match. That said, whilst Pro Evo does beat FIFA gameplay wise, handily in my view, the FIFA package is so head and shoulders above it that it almost doesnt matter these days. I'd be interested to see the next gen Pro Evo though.

The much maligned Go Compare ads have now taken an even worse turn by breaking kayfabe showing the man behind Gio Compario transforming himself into the character while bragging about his real life operatic career

The shittest bit of it is when he 'reveals' its him by donning the moustache and singing 'Go Compare' no where near as good as he's seen doing at the concert. Considering they could have had any amount of takes, its fucking awful.

See, I put it down to that fucking cover of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" that they used for some car advert.

Him getting Christmas number one over The Darkness caused all this mess. I worked in a local independent record shop when his album came out. We had a pretty stiff no refunds policy, but I took mercy on one poor bloke who told me he bought it but it was just shit. I refunded the fella, he'd been through enough.

  8. Animal stayed in the same hotel as us when we went to WM34 in New Orleans. He was up for having a quick chat and photo with everyone and wasn't charging people and for that, he was completely sound in my book.

He was massive (in a 'muscles' way) and he ate ALOT of the free buffet breakfast. He was quality.

  9. I'm Johnny Xbox so I'm pre-ordering Series X on Tuesday but the PS5 pandemonium has me panicked a bit. But I'll also be getting my boy the Series S as well as he doesn't have a 4k telly and I almost always need his help to play any games I like these days...

  10. I too have been properly soured on the eBay experience recently. The last three things I've sold (projector, phone, broken iPad) have all had people try to claim issues to get a discount AFTER the auction. The iPad was sold as broken as for parts and the guy complained that it was broken and sold for parts and wanted a discount.

So yeah f**k eBay I say.

  11. As part of a ongoing twenty year joke about Bob Holly being my brothers favourite wrestler, we paid to meet him when we went to WM34. Pretty sure he was wearing those trainers too. He proper loved a chat and was a well nice bloke. He was definitely upset he got released from WWE though, having mentioned it about ten times.

Just had a quick look online and Borderlands The Handsome Collection is listed as having local co-op and is on Game Pass. Really fun looter shooters loaded with content, Borderlands 2 is the best of the two game collection imo.

No idea how old your son is but if you are fine with him playing Gears then I'm guessing you won't mind him playing Borderlands. Might want to look into the games first just in case though.

Hes just about to turn 15. Hes telling me what to play for the most part. I'll check Borderlands out - cheers 🙂

  13. Appreciate I'm several years behind the times, but used the (glorious) Game Pass and download Arkham Knight. Completed it last night, but what a lovely lovely game.

Me and my son finished Gears 5 together the other night and looking for a another co-op type thing. Any recommendations?

.I've only seen GIFs of Tyler vs. Devlin, but between the weird neck-springboard off the ropes being done as unnaturally as Ambrose ever did the old Les Kellett rope rebound, in to a slow motion Spanish Fly, and then an interminable "fist fight" sequence, makes me think I'm going to fucking hate it.

The neck off the ropes thing was incredibly jarring. Made no sense and had me audibly saying 'this makes no sense'. Which momentarily took my attention away from the match.

The more I think about Bray Wyatt's new direction the more I think it could have serious potential. The idea of a creepy cult leader who, after failing with his original plans, has now returned and is targetting children is something that could run for awhile and generate a lot of interesting storylines.

    Wasn't that Glitter's M.O.?
