Wasn't he planning to save up enough cash (as he himself said in home video footage) and get out and become a fireman? Heard it said often he wasn't planning on being around much longer.Â

Anyone watched Carnyland? Not sure what to make of it overall but Aldis really went after Hannibal (youtube shoots guy) and it was hilarious.
-
The Tim Storm stuff had me smiling ear to ear. I would keep Drax around too, almost Steiner esque, would be good muscle or in a team, really enjoyed the match.
The five minutes with the manager was straight out of Memphis. Storm is just the best. He gets it and can really sell a story.

Is he not into mad conspiracy theories? Remember him saying some mad stuff about the Benoit murder suicide.

Cornette and Last break down each weekly AEW show segment by segment and every week they praise some aspects of the show and criticise others.
Not saying Cornette doesn't go over the top as that's his gimmick but to say they have nothing positive to say is simply false.
They praised how they handled the empty arena stuff and Cornette regularly praises Jericho, Darby, Jungle Boy, Sammy, MJF, Cody, Page etc. He was even forced to admit Bucks vs Omega and Page was great.
Fully understand issues people have with Cornette but a lot of the criticism I see directed his way seems to come from people who don't listen to his shows.

Been watching 98 WWF through and my god am I ever sick of Austin, Taker and Kane.

As someone said Conrad has the same conversations on the same topics over and over. JR has said about x5 that he wanted to make Muta the NWA champ but the booking committee were against it because Pearl Harbour. Every time Conrad reacts to it as a shock and revelation.Â

Bischoff's always banging on about how him and Flair are great mates these days on his podcast. Was interesting to hear Flair say he "hated" having to work with him in TNA on his Austin interview.

Jericho and Schiavone here are great examples of how commentators can elevate a show. Jericho seemed to bring out the best in Tony and they had fun, same as last week. Replace them with Byron Saxton and Todd Phillips or whoever and the whole thing would have been grim.Â

Jericho could be their answer to Jesse Ventura when he hangs it up. The jump cut of him spilling everywhere to no spillage killed me.
Mox Hager fell massively flat after a great build. All the hugging at the start killed it stone dead.

Many of the work etc problems Quote the Raven documents in this thread are happening to people as a direct result of Tory policy and alongside them he proudly expresses his support for the party 🙈

That Nakazawa match is the worst Dynamite match since launch, the guy is awful and made Omega look terrible by association. Would gladly never set eyes on him again.
After a tough start Kenny was really finding his way and I was beginning to see why he's so highly rated, but he is suffering from the hangman not being around.
The wooden pre match segment was nearly as bad as the match itself. Only bright spot was Jericho's commentary.Â

Tom Lawlor has been great in MLW since turning heel on the Von Erichs. Bored me to tears beforehand but his recent schtick has been very entertaining.

Tag was the most I've been invested in a match since Punk Cena at money in the bank. Nearly 30 and I was proper on the edge of my seat.
The Bucks are interesting, when they just flip about in a cold match it does nothing for me but with a story they are great. Second PPV in a row their match has been my favourite.
They've done a great job making me care about Page after a bad start, have loved this angle.
Think putting belt on Moxley is a mistake though. He's one dimensional while Jericho is in top form character wise.
9/10 show, while AEW started off patchy they have been on a great run since the Dark Order beatdown shambles.

Would have still been Fields brothers running Gulf Coast in 76 before selling it to Fuller. Two of them are on the card.Â

Echo the Schiavone love, always thought he was great and been wonderful having him back. Anyone else worried they will transition him to a Mean Gene interviewer role though and put Taz in his place? Just the feeling I've been getting last few weeks. While Taz has been good would be a big mistake IMO. They need Tony in the booth to keep it flowing.

Savage-DDP is the greatest feud in the history of wrestling. I will die on this hill.
-
He has something but he comes across as extremely effeminate, which I don't think is the gimmick he's going for.
-
Another one for Fuller love. The way he walks behind Jarrett bellowing "ain't he great" is tremendous. A 6'7 manager who is completely ineffectual is great stuff.
-
Was a tad concerned about the lack of actual wrestling on this but the sit down with Marty and Aldis was absolutely class. Pure pro wrestling.Â
-
Not keen on what's looking like a partnership with ROH. Flip Gordon? Would rather see Aldis make someone in the NWA or have his match with Morton on PPV.
-
Aldis has been great but he veers too closely into Ric Flair wannabe territory at times. While I buy him as a top athlete and champion the stuff about him going all night in the bedroom was cringe and didn't really suit his character at all.
-
Joe Galli needs a big 80s era Tony Schiavone moustache for added authenticity.
-
The storytelling in the main event was class. Aldis and Cody are two guys I always found bland and uninteresting but both seem to have found that knack of pulling you into their matches.
Random Thoughts III.

Did anyone else find Marc Mero endlessly entertaining in the WWF? He was great at showing arse.Â
