"Full Line Up now announced for PPW's West Bromwich homecoming this Friday!!"

Phoenix Pro Wrestling returns to West Bromwich this Friday at the revamped Venue 71. Venue 71 is the all new name, all new look, for the old West Bromwich Labour Club, and everyone here at PPW is excited by the prospect of working with the new owners to take PPW to the next level, and we are chomping at bit to get back to our "home ground" and get back to doing what we do best and that is entertaining the West Bromwich fans with the highest quality professional wrestling on show in the Midlands today!!

!!SECOND BONUS MATCH REVEALED FOR THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!!

On the back of a Big Weekend of British Sport, PPW thought it would jump on the bandwagon of patriotic hysteria and put together an England vs Wales match, to wet everyone's appetite for Friday night's big return to West Bromwich...

o7t7ya.jpg

Tyson T-Bone is the living, breathing embodiment of the rugged tatooed Englishman! And as a decorated veteran of the British Wrestling Scene, he will be keen to make an big impact on his PPW debut, and no doubt will be looking to put himself in the PPW Championship scene as soon as he can.

On the other side of the ring is Welshman Eddie Dennis. Dennis currently plys his trade all over his home nation, but is looking to make 2012 his breakout year onto the the forefront of the British Wrestling landscape. A victory over T-Bone would go a long way to helping him achieve that goal.

"Full Line up now revealed for Number 1 Contender Tournament on July 13th!!"

"Perfect" Pete Dunne made his PPW debut in the Summer of 2011 in tag team competition alongside "Flash" Morgan taking on the team of Paul Malen and Joseph Conners, "The Predators". On that night, the high flying style of Dunne and Morgan was too much for Malen and Conners, and it was the two youngsters that emerged victorious. Since that time Dunne has become one of the most travelled young British wrestlers, having performed all over the UK and Europe. PPW Management have been asked on a number of occasions when he will be returning to the PPW ring and in the process of compiling a worthy list of contenders, with a variety of styles, "Perfect" Pete Dunne's name came up again and again. Could Friday 13th finally be the date that the youngster from West Bromwich makes his step up to the big time in PPW??

Making his debut in PPW back in February 2012, the giant Barricade from Nottingham has made a (excuse the pun) massive impact with the PPW fans. His sheer mass and intimidating height and strength has put fear in the hearts of fans both in the ring in West Bromwich and by making an unwarranted appearance at a PPW Birthday Party in March, and unquestionably makes him a genuine threat to El Ligero's PPW Championship!! Going into the first round matches in the Number 1 Contenders Tournament on July 13th, Barricade was the one competitor that the other contenders were hoping to avoid in the draw - can Dunne over come the odds??!!

2vbww3o.jpg

A massive fan favourite in his home town, BBS has consistently performed at the highest level in PPW, competing in main event matches since his debut in 2011. BBS was in the winning team as part of Team Walters in perhaps the most high profile match in PPW history (Team Walters vs Team South); BBS also featured heavily (and infamously) in the First Ever Gunpowder Plot Match in November; and has wrestled to a time limit draw with two of the countries best ever wrestlers in Bubblegum and Number 1 Seed James Mason. With his proven pedigree there is no doubt that PPW's hometown hero deserves his opportunity to win a shot at "The Mexican Sensation" El Ligero's PPW Championship.

As we found out last week, the new owners of Venue71 have been in talks with PPW, demanding that they have a direct influence in the line up for the show July 13th. After the talks concluded late last night, it was agreed that Venue71 would be able to select one of the Quarter Final entrants in the Number One Contender Tournament. Furthermore, it was agreed that the new owners would not have to reveal who their entrant would be until the night of the show. PPW Management does have open concerns about this, but is willing (albeit very reluctantly) to see how things go on Friday 13th. This sort of behaviour is unprecedented in professional wrestling, so it will be very interesting to see how events unfold in the Venue71 era of Phoenix Pro Wrestling. How will BBS fare in a tournament in which he cannot prepare for his opening match??

2rvzj15.jpg

Number 2 Seed: "Luscious" Lucas Black - The popularity of Nate Colt clearly played a major part in the PPW Management decision to make him the Number 1 Seed. Popularity however is perhaps the only thing that the cocky, brash young Black does not have to boast about. Arriving in PPW in 2011 as a relative unknown of the wrestling scene, "The Luscious One" went out of his way to ensure that everyone soon knew who he was and what he wanted to achieve in Phoenix Pro Wrestling. As the outstanding (albeit a controversial) performer in the 2011 Evolution League, and coupled with the fact that he went undefeated throughout the entire 2011, and remains undefeated in all singles competition in the PPW ring, there is no doubt that "Luscious" Lucas Black deserves his spot as Number 2 Seed in the tournament...

...AND, following the unexpected withdrawal of James Mason for personal reasons, a new Number One Seed has been unveiled for this Friday's big return to West Bromwich...

2je6ah1.jpg

..."The Natural" Nate Colt is undoubtably the 'People's Champion' amongst the young guns in Phoenix Pro Wrestling and, following email after text, following tweet after facebook message, pleading for his return, PPW Management this morning unveiled Colt at the New Number 1 Seed in the race to become Number One Contender to "The Mexican Sensation" El Ligero's PPW Crown!! The possibility of a "Ligero vs Colt" marquee match makes this a very exciting time for everyone involved in Phoenix Pro Wrestling!!

"Huge Tag Team collision signed for July 13th!!"

2i28uiq.jpg

Paul Malen and Joseph Conners, have without question lived up to their chosen moniker of "The Predators" here in PPW, spending the entire 2011 hunting their chosen prey in the form of PPW Champion "The Mexican Sensation" El Ligero, and becoming the most notorious tag team in PPW history in the process.

Team NRG on the other hand, have been nothing short of teen sensations here in PPW! Utilising an arsenal of technical wrestling manouvres, the likes of which have not been seen since a young Steve Grey burst onto the World of Sport scene all those years ago, Jack Walker and Sean Morrell have made a big first impression here in Phoenix Pro Wrestling.

The rugged brawlers from Nottingham will undoubtably have the experience edge going into this match, but the clash of styles offered by the technical / high flying offence of Team NRG may be enough for the younsters from Liverpool / Southport to overcome the odds and create an upset here.

Put simply, this match is going to be a cracker!! Don't miss it!!

!!BONUS MATCH REVEALED FOR THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!!

2qtcsjn.jpg

Arriving as a manager, Zero Tolerance quickly became a back bone of sorts in PPW, turning his hand to everything from backstage support, sound engineer, ring announcer, and everything else you imagine it takes to make a live wrestling event run smoothly. However it was only in mid 2011, after taking a violent beating at the hands of "Textbook" Dave Breaks, that Zero became a cult hero in Phoenix Pro Wrestling!! Now in 2012, Zero has established himself as one of the most popular competitors on the PPW roster, and as such has requested that he be given a chance to prove his worth in a match that he considers his speciality - a Street Fight!!

On the other side of the ring, is someone just at the begining of his PPW career; Nottingham's Matt Hall. Hall has grabbed hold of this unexpected opportunity and has promised to take it by the horns and make big impression on Friday night. This unexpected bonus may be the match that steals the show on Friday!! We at PPW can't wait!!

"Rapid Fire return This Friday!!"

2h4gxt4.jpg

"The Rapid Fire" Tommy Gunn is without doubt one of the most popular stars to ever grace the PPW ring, and is perhaps the only performer ever to receive the level of crowd reaction that is usually reserved for PPW Champion El Ligero. However when he suffered a horrific shoulder injury back in 2011, PPW fans could be forgiven for thinking that they may have seen the last of one of the finest Midlands wrestlers of all time. In fact, it was only LAST NIGHT (30.06.2012) that PPW Management received a message from Tommy stating that he was fit and healthy and that he wanted to be part of PPW's big homecoming - and how could anybody say no to that??!! "The Rapid Fire" is back in PPW!!

On the flip side of the coin, Lord Graham Thomas III is arguably the most HATED performer in PPW history!! BUT, whether you love him or hate him, PPW's West Bromwich homecoming would not be the same without Lord Graham Thomas III. His Lordship is the one man that PPW fans love to hate more than any other and, on July 13th in West Bromwich, Lord Graham returns with his very own speciality match; the Kiss My Foot Challenge!!

It should also be noted that Gunn and Thomas have a history in Kiss My Foot Matches, Tommy having beaten his Lordship at his own game on the way to becoming King Of The Deathmatch 2011.

On Friday 13th, Tommy Gunn will be looking to make a big impact on his reurn to PPW, but his Lordship will be looking for some measure of revenge!! The question is, who will go that extra mile to get what they want on Friday 13th??

"TWO BONUS MATCHES TO BE REVEALED THIS WEEK!!"

With less than a week until PPW's big return to West Bromwich, PPW Management have revealed that, not one but TWO, HUGE BONUS MATCHES will be announced this week, in the build up to the big event!! Watch this space all week long for all the big news!!

!! See you all on Friday night @ Venue71 !!

"Number 1 and 2 Seeds Announced"

PPW Management have now revealed the Top Seeds going into next month's tournament to find a new number one contender for "The Mexican Sensation" El Ligero's PPW Championship...

zuje3n.jpg

Number 1 Seed: James Mason - When considering the seedings for this tournament, a lot of things are obviously considered. Popularity is obviously one factor and in terms of both crowd reaction month in month out and of the sheer volume of emails received by PPW Management asking that he gets a title shot, James Mason clearly wins the popularity contest! Another factor must of course be in ring performance, and with high profile matches in 2011 against Brandon Thomas and Paul Malen, and the thrilling time limit draw in the Three Way Dance with British Born Steele and Bubblegum; Mason also clearly fits that bill! Other factors you may consider: Longevity? Tick. Championships won all around Europe? Tick. Competed in a WWE ring? Tick! James Mason has done it all in his career, and is no doubt worthy of his status of Number 1 Seed.

2rvzj15.jpg

Number 2 Seed: "Luscious" Lucas Black - The popularity of James Mason clearly played a major part in the PPW Management decision to make him the Number 1 Seed. The next competitor to be revealed in the Number 1 Contender Tournament on July 13th is West Bromwich's own British Born Steele!! A massive fan favourite in his home town, BBS has consistently performed at the highest level in PPW, competing in main event matches since his debut in 2011. Whether you love him or hate him (and, if we are honest, most people do hate him!!), PPW's West Bromwich homecoming would not be the same without Lord Graham Thomas III. His Lordship is the one man that PPW fans love to hate more than any other and, on July 13th in West Bromwich, Lord Graham returns with his very own speciality match; the Kiss My Foot Challenge!! Looking back through PPW history, his Lordship has not had much success in these matches, having kissed the feet of "The Rapid Fire" Tommy Gunn, Lucian L. Jones, Zero Tolerance, the entire front row, and many more besides!! Will things be any different on July 13th?? Or will his Lordship be forced to kiss the feet of another mystery opponent?? Only one way to find out and that is to witness PPW live and in person on July 13th at the all new Venue 71!!

"Venue 71 gets involved in Number 1 Contenders Tournament!!"

PPW Management has been in negotiations this week with the new owners of Venue 71. Venue 71 Management have requested that they have a say in the line up for the Number 1 Contenders Tournament on July 13th. The outcome of these negotiations will be revealed next weekend as the final 2 contenders are announced!!

TWO HUGE Announcements taken from www.phoenixprowrestling.co.uk this weekend...

That being said, there is one person who is chomping at the bit just that little bit more than everyone else...

"The Rapid Fire" Tommy Gunn is without doubt one of the most popular stars to ever grace the PPW ring, and is perhaps the only performer ever to receive the level of crowd reaction that is usually reserved for PPW Champion El Ligero.

"Quarter Final Draw = Next Weekend!!"

With less than 2 weeks until PPW's big return to West Bromwich, PPW Management have announced that draw for the 2 quarter finals (featuring British Born Steele, "Perfect" Pete Dunne, Barricade, and a contender of Venue71's choosing) will take place next weekend.
