Paid Members tom Posted September 4, 2006 Paid Members Share Posted September 4, 2006 I just love the way the ITV news act as if its the internets fault, and they say how it being online is going to encourage other people to do it, yet its ok for them to report and show it on the news :rolleyes:They did the same a few months ago by saying how school fights are being recorded and put online. BionicRedneck
Ok, it's not actually Youtube, but this is the funniest thing I've ever seen. http://www.break.com/index/kid_almost_falls_out_of_ride.html  The way the women laughs her head off is what makes it.  Also, Kung fu baby : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kmKo_ocSAU
Paid Members Mike Castle Posted September 4, 2006 Paid Members Share Posted September 4, 2006 Considering, by the look of it, the woman was actually looking after the kid, and literally didn't give a crap about whether he was okay or not... I seriously hope said kids parents either sued her (if she was a babysitter for instance), or made damned sure she goes nowhere near him again.About 10 years ago we went to Pleasure Island theme park, and on the pirate boat ride (the one that goes upside down) the mechanism for my sister's seat was faulty (of which nobody told us previously... although a kind and 'caring' member of the public told us "I was sat near there earlier, and it wasn't working then either" (yeah, thanks for telling the ride operatives so they could fix the stupid thing). Wasn't too funny with me and my Uncle having to hold the thing down to prevent my sister falling and dying thanks to it.

Wasn't too funny with me and my Uncle having to hold the thing down to prevent my sister falling and dying thanks to it. That happened to me, same place, same ride - it was also years ago. I remember slipping through the bara little bit as it held me upside down. I had to grab the bar and literally push myself up to stop falling through. There's no doubt in my mind if I'd have let go or the ride held itself upside down for another 5 seconds I would have been seriously injured or worse.Stupid pleasure Island
Paid Members Mike Castle Posted September 5, 2006 Paid Members Share Posted September 5, 2006 As long as ya told someone after getting off the ride, so nobody else risked injury. But it's obvious that they (and by default, Flamingo Land, as they either are owned by the same person/company, or just share the same rides), don't check the rides on a regular basis. On a theme park that is running as constantly as Pleasure Island, I'd have said that someone should be keeping a close eye on the entire ride at least every other use, and at least once a day (likely twice) they should give it a run with nobody in there, to see if there's any problems with the locking mechanism and such. From what I hear tho', Disney World's the worst for failing to check rides, 'cause as they're a huge place, it works out better for them to not check it and pay the fine if something does go wrong, than it does to shut the ride down for ten minutes, check it, and then fix any problems that arise. It happens alot on rides. I reckon shes a bit of a legend for finding that funny - doubt he would have slid through, even though its happene on that bungee thing in the past.
