Phoenix Pro Wrestling returns to WEST BROMWICH

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT

FULL SEMI FINAL LINE UP NOW ANNOUNCED!!

"The Mexican Sensation" EL LIGERO vs "The Rapid Fire" TOMMY GUNN vs "The Heavyweight House Of Pain" STIXX

After its successful comeback on 18th March, Phoenix Pro Wrestling returns to West Bromwich on April 17th. Once again, 3 of the finest wrestlers the UK has to offer will step into the ring, in the second of two Semi-Final Matches on the road to crowning the 1st Ever PPW Champion!!

PPW CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL THREE WAY DANCE:

"The Mexican Sensation" EL LIGERO vs "The Rapid Fire" TOMMY GUNN vs "The Heavyweight House Of Pain" STIXX

What more can be said about the high flying sensation from Los Sanchos, Mexico, that hasn't been said an infinite amount of times before??? Making his long awaited return to PPW, "The Mexican Sensation" is one of the most recognisable competitors on the UK Wrestling circuit and, having plied his trade both sides of the Atlantic for many years, El Ligero is unquestionably of of the finest talents in modern wrestling.

By not only beating long time Midlands rival Lord Graham Thomas on March 18th, but also by emerging victorious in a Ten-Man Battle Royal on the very same night, "The Rapid Fire" Tommy Gunn proved that he is one of, if not THE, best wrestler's in the West Midlands today!! Tommy is reknowned for his virtually unmatched high-flying offence and he will be keen to put this to the test on April 17th against one of the UK's high flying greats, El Ligero!!

Having spent many years as a tag team specialist, competing around the country with the likes of "The Guv'nor" Martin Stone and "The Prodigy" Paul Malen; Stixx has spent the last two years establishing himself as a singles wrestling force in his own right. The brawler from Nottingham will add an exciting twist to the 3 Way Dance involving two of the UK's finest high flyers, and having competed againgst some of the finest brawlers the wrestling world has to offer (inc. Mick Foley, The Sandman, Drew McDonald, Iceman and many more), Stixx may well be a hot favourite going into the 2nd Semi-Final on the road to crowning the 1st Ever PPW Champion!

COMBAT ZONE STREET FIGHT

Not wanting to rest on its laurels following the success of its first show of 2011, PPW has announced a SECOND MAIN EVENT for its show on April 17th in West Bromwich!!

"Unstoppable" ANDY WILD vs JOEY SANCHEZ - "COMBAT ZONE STREET FIGHT"

Having just returned from a successful trip to North America, including wrestling for Combat Zone Wrestling in the former ECW Arena and competing and WWE Legend "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan; "Unstoppable" ANDY WILD will now be looking to ride the wave of success into his return to PPW action on April 17th at the West Bromwich Labour Club.

Looking to fight back from his defeat at the hands of "Hellraiser" Brian Wright on March 18th, JOEY SANCHEZ will be out to prove that he is still the number one brawler in Phoenix Pro Wrestling. If Sanchez's match at our last event is anything to go by, this match is unlikely to spend much time in the ring so fan interaction is inevitable in what threatens to be a hardcore classic!

PPW Management would like to stress that it does NOT encourage its fans to bring weapons of any kind to the event...... but if you INSIST!!!

WORLD OF SPORT VETERAN COMING TO WEST BROMWICH!!!:

"THE ENFORCER" KEITH MYATT ISSUES A CHALLENGE!!

World of Sport Veteran and PPW Enforcer Keith Myatt has been knocking on Chris' door ever since PPW debuted at the West Bromwich Labour Club on March 18th, demanding a match with any (or all!) of the Evolution League Wrestlers! Myatt claims that the current crop of young British wrestlers are not worthy of filling the void left behind since the glory days of British Wrestling on World of Sport and says that its only second-generation wrestlers, like his son Ryan, that are keeping the modern-era of wrestling alive!

Myatt wants to prove his point, when PPW returns to the West Bromwich Labour Club, and has laid down a challenge to any two members of the Evolution League roster to step up to the plate and face The Myatts in tag team competition on April 17th!

10.4.2011 - MATT PEDIN and DAVEY BLAZE accept the MYATT's challenge:

MATT PEDIN/DAVEY BLAZE vs THE MYATTS

April 17th will make history when the first tag team is born from the unification of Kid Fite's PBW Academy and Stixx's House of Pain (HOP) Academy!!

Followers of @PhoenixPPW on Twitter will know that earlier this week HOP Wrestler, Pedin approached Keith and Ryan Myatt directly to accept their challenge, only to be refused because he came alone!

Not to be put off, Pedin got straight on Facebook to contact Scotland's Davey Blaze and the rest is history! Two of the most popular Evolution League members will meet one of toughest tag teams in British Wrestling today!

3x EVOLUTION LEAGUE MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 17TH

"Hellraiser" BRIAN WRIGHT vs "Luscious" LUCAS BLACK

PPW Management have been bombarded with texts and phone calls from members of the Evolution League roster this month! And EVERY SINGLE message has been a complaint about the actions of one "Luscious" Lucas Black.

Black goes into the April 17th event in West Bromwich in the lead, after his controversial interference in the other Week 1 matches resulted in 2 draws, putting him ahead of the pack on 3 points!

Black will not have it so easy this time around though, when he steps into the ring with "Hellraiser" Brian Wright on April 17th! Wright, on the back of his "Falls Count Anywhere" victory last month, is one of the more formiddable characters in PPW, and will be chomping at the bit (probably literally!) to get off the mark in Evolution League!

NATE COLT vs STEVEN XAVIER

On the flip side, Nate Colt got off to a disappointing start to his Evolution League, losing out to Black in the first round of matches. The always popular Colt will be looking to kick start a winning streak when he steps into the ring against Scotland's Steven Xavier. Xavier had to pull out of the March event, due to personal reasons, so he too will be looking to get some points on the board on April 17th.

Colt and Xavier are two of the more popular of the Evolution League members, so this promises to be an exciting clash of the cruiserweights!!

JAMIE FEERICK vs JUSTIN THORNE

The third Evolution League match for the April 17th event is Scotland vs Scotland and it's VILLAIN vs VILLAIN!!

Neither Jamie Feerick or Justin Thorne won the hearts of many PPW fans last time around and there is no indication of things changing this time around! Both competitors have told PPW Management that they refuse to take part in any promotion for this match, including interviews or promo photos for the website! They have told Chris that they are coming for 3 points and thats it!

PPW has no doubt that its fans will let the 2 Scots know what they think of them on April 17th!!

CHARITY BATTLE ROYAL RETURNS ON APRIL 17TH - BIGGER AND BETTER!!

Following the excitement and drama of the Comic Relief Battle Royal at the last show, PPW Management couldn't resist bringing it back for the April 17th return to the West Bromwich Labour Club! This time round it will be BIGGER, BETTER and, with the inclusion of "The Enforcer" Keith Myatt and the "Unstoppable" Andy Wild, quite frankly and whole lot BADDER!!

On April 17th PPW will be raising money for the Mayor of Sandwell's Charity, The Alzheimer's Society. This is a charity close to the heart of PPW Promoter Chris Liston, who's family have a history of Dementia and Alzheimer's, so every penny raised will be greatly appreciated by the Charity and by the Promtion alike.

Thank you.

Just had a PM about public transport for those travelling from outside the West Midlands, so I thought I'd post my reply on here to hopefully encourage a few more people who are unsure how to get to West Brom by Train...

"Our shows start at 7:30 and end around 9:45 (ten at latest, if you get a backstage pass etc). There is a Metro Service that runs between Wolverhampton and Birmingham that stops in West Brom (Lodge Road stop) (and Smethwick if that helps with National Rail??) which runs until late, so wherever your train comes to you should be fine to make the show/ leave in plenty of time to get home."

Additionally, the nearest Train Station is Sandwell and Dudley which is a short cab ride away from the venue.

Thanks

There is also the West Bromwich Bus Station near by if you are catching a bus. Depending on what bus you are catching the last buses are usually around 11pm and the Bus Station isn't a far walk from the venue.
