I know theres a few metalheads on the forum, so who's going to the gig?

I'm going up on the friday with a few mates to make a weekend of it, so anyone who wants to meet up for a drink before, drop me a PM.

Any locals know of any metal/rock pubs/clubs for the nights before?

I've been waiting for this gig since I got into metal and I'm sure it'll be a night to remember, so let the crazed anticipation begin!!

WIMPS AND POSERS, LEAVE THE THREAD!!!!!

I think Manowar are hilarious, incredibly fun to listen to. "Warriors of the World" is one of the funniest songs ever, especially when it goes into and out of the slow bit. I was offered tickets to this by a lad who takes them seriously, but I can't make it on the date. A couple of mates of mine are going.

Yea you definitely can't take them seriously, far too cheesey.

For me, its music to put on at a party when everyone's pissed up, to have a singalong with ya mates. I am expecting alot of people like your friend you mentioned, who take them seriously, plastic swords n'all!

I wish I was able to make this, they are a fun band with incredibly catchy songs. Kings of Metal and basically the entire Battle Hymns album sum up everything overblown and fun about metal. Heading to see Iron Maiden in July but I wouldn't be surprised if they announced more UK dates or at least a Bloodstock appearance.
