Also it's just as likely to be two complete no-names who work for their local indy and who nobody outside of that town has ever seen/heard of.

I miss Richie Freebird

I don't think it's that unreasonable, considering you can use Messenger to make calls. I currently work in non-wrestling events and I use messenger for everything instead of giving my number out. It allows me to screen messages/calls and keep a better separation between my work & my home life. Plus my house doesn't get mobile signal but I have WiFi, so it's generally more reliable for contact with me.

I dunno, I'm all about giving the benefit of the doubt, especially given the shitty nature of the wrestling industry where he'd just as likely get quietly blackballed as a troublemaker a week later when everyone's forgotten about it.
If what he was after was cash & sympathy then he's gone about it in a pretty bad way, focusing his tweets on the slam by Sha and not the attack by Bodom, given that Sha is well-liked & ingrained in the wrestling community vs Bodom who was already a pariah outside of RevPro. Seems far more likely that he was legit injured by two unprovoked attacks - an unplanned, uncalled slam by Sha and then a kicking from Bodom that he has no memory of.
Just seems like so much to risk before you know how people will respond, for the potential of maybe getting a tiny amount of short-term cash and maybe a few more bookings as a ref. I don't know the guy but I can't really fathom that.
-
What do you think the ref stands to gain from this? I know others have taken umbrage to him adding a link to his PayPal, but it's highly unlikely he's about to get anything more than a couple of hundred quid - hardly enough to make it worth burning all his bridges as a working referee over.
-
To answer the first part: I'd guess because at that point he didn't know he wouldn't be able to ref again & the easiest way to stop getting work is to be public about issues within a company (or even just not sufficiently grateful enough). He also has no memory of the Bodom attack, which suggests he was suffering from the effects of it, so I don't find it that surprising he initially didn't want to make a big deal of the Sha stuff - and he was right, seeing the way people both within & without the industry responded to it.
If the Bodom stuff hadn't happened I bet the majority response would have been that Sha was right, and that he should have taken the bump properly.
Edit: And as someone who also trained for quite a few years, it looked like Sha was tucking the ref's head, but if you're not ready/are resisting (because you've just been unexpectedly grabbed by a physically larger wrestler, say) then it's easy for your body to not come down flat. See it a lot in new trainees who are scared, and I could imagine a fear response kicking in for me in this situation (especially if Sha wasn't communicating). -
It's proper bollocks too. Aaren has been trained to bump, and has done ref bump angles in the past.
Massively different to someone significantly stronger than you picking you up and dumping you on your head, followed by his mate giving you a kicking on the outside. -
Yeah, wrestling is pretty shitty, so it's a possibility. But knowing Bodom there's also a huge chance that he's lying out of his arse about it.
-
That's a pretty consistent criticism of Okada, right? That he plods through the preceding 20-25mins and then bangs out an absolutely stellar final five minutes that is so good it lifts the match up to his usual 4-5 stars territory.

I don't see why people are saying its impossible he was killed by The Elite, He was good friends with Trump. And Prince Andrew.

Kenny Omega wasn't called The Cleaner for nothing, I think you're onto something here.

Has the ability to Ignore users been removed? Since the forum returned I've started seeing posts from users I've ignored before, and now can't find the option to block them again

Welcome to Lance Storm's book club

Damon's someone I wish got more work elsewhere, solid hand that never has a bad match and is capable of holding his own whether it's an emotional main event or a ridiculous comedy match. Top guy. His 'All Bins Are Legal' match with James Drake from FutureShock was a particular highlight for me.

They used to have a permanent location in Brixton, but afaik they don't have it anymore so are currently running in partnership with a few different schools while they find a new home

You can also debate ideas without having to give a platform to people. We can talk about how trans people are valid without giving Graham Linehan ten minutes to talk about how much he hates them. We can talk about how immigration benefits the country without giving Farage et al the credibility of being presented as the opposite side of a legitimate debate, as opposed to the bad faith grifter he is.

The release of the VoD has been delayed due to some scenes requiring editing, according to Twitter. (I believe there was a costume malfunction, and Japanese law is pretty strict on the amount of unblurred genitals you're allowed to show)

Yeah, I've done a few events at Wembley Arena now, and it sets up for the smaller numbers surprisingly well. 3,000 with the set-up they have should feel pretty good.
-
Regardless of anything else, you've made me want to see Regal do a turn as Columbo. The perpetrator thinking they've got away with it, then "Just one more thing" potentially with an uninjured Black return for a match.

It's the only one I'm familiar with, it's not particularly my scene. Best bet might be if a US one has a European distributor, so you don't get hit with import fees/postage.

WrestleCrate is good if you're into your BritWres, as it's mainly focused on that. They get Defract to do stuff pretty regularly for it, and his art stuff is always a highlight (He also makes a boatload of fantastic CAW's for the 2K games).

The Insomnia website lists "Pete Dunne, Â Tyler Bate, Trent Seven plus many more of your favourites: Noam Dar, Mark Andrews, Zack Gibson, Toni Storm, Joe Coffey, Jinny & Charlie Morgan."
-
No promises, but it *might* be tiered. I used to work for the company that runs Insomnia (bringing in Fight Club was my last act before leaving), and before I left there was discussion about bringing in bleacher-style seating for the summer. Can't promise that will have gone anywhere, as cost may have been too prohibitive.

Wasn't he the one promoting Lucha Forever shows that bailed out of nowhere, forcing IPW to step in and run their venues?

I think the problem that kicked it off is that Omega's apology came after he initially tried to brush it off as not a big deal, which then made his apology ring false.

I definitely think he's mischaracterised by the "He hates wrestling" narrative. I think it's similar to a lot of big name game directors in having a genuine love for the industry, while at the same time feeling insecure about working in a 'niche' entertainment industry looked down upon by more culturally entrenched industries like Hollywood.
Going down that analogy, AEW is a punchy AA company like Remedy, who are looking to emulate the trappings of their richer competitors, while still making a product that feels unique to them, and your indies are, well, indies. Smaller teams doing things to smaller audiences each catering to their own niche interest within the consumer base.
