  1. Wachowskis rumoured for Justice League movie

Interesting rumour, I would like to see a big name director (or team) handle this project, I know the Wachowskis have wanted to make a movie of Plastic Man (one of my favourite characters) since before they even did the Matrix so they'd probably be up for it. Speed Racer was pretty cool visually so I think it would probably be in ok hands.

Think it would be a hard project to fit in one film, Marvel did it so perfectly with the Avengers and the lead up films, the whole Justice League being introduced in one go and giving everyone time to do their thing would be a hard feat to pull off.

They're planning to do the same as Marvel did, with a series of single character films (Man of Steel, Batman reboot etc.) leading into a Justice League film.

  2. Loved Expendables 2. Everything the first Expendables should have been. Wonderfully self-aware, took advantage of every actor's rich action history, plenty of cheesy dialogue, a pointlessly evil bad guy and, naturally, some classic action. Thoroughly enjoyable. Felt like an 80's action film with a modern budget.

  3. Is this the one with the picture of Bret Hart being inducted into the 'British Hall of Fame'? If so, what newsagents are likely to do it? Would love to have a copy of that.

The 'Borat Wedding Sack' induction?!

    That's the one!

  4. Just re-rewatched La Haine. One of my favourite films. Matthieu Kassovitz is one of my all-time favourite directors, and I can even forgive him for Babylon, A.D. since he was slating it in the press before release. The dialogue is some of the best around, the characters are wonderfully believable and the mash-up of Non je ne regrette riens/Fuck The Police was fucking genius.

  5. Jeff Who Lives At Home

I'd heard mixed-to-bad reviews of this, so I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Jason Segel was perfect casting, Ed Helms not so much. It's not particularly funny or cohesive, but if you can stomach indie comedy and you're easily pleased it'll pass the time easily.

    Rock of Ages

Pretty fucking awesome. Great cast, the highlight of which is Tom Cruise. He's superb, and the whole thing rollicks along tremendously. Dodgy accent work from Russell Brand, but that makes it fun.

Rock of Ages was a great film and a terrible film merged together. Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti were brilliant. The whole morals vs. rock and roll was awesome. But for some reason half the film was given over to a boy and a girl in an incredibly tired and cliche romance that did nothing fun or memorable. Replace that with more Tom Cruise being brilliant and I'd have loved it.

  6. Finally got around to watching WrestleMania X-7 on the Anthology DVDs. Limp Bizkit has been totally edited out, does anyone know why they did this? Ruined the main event for me.

Because it's cheaper for them to dub it over with production music, than to pay royalties to Fred Durst.

I was trying not to be cynical about it. Thought maybe Durst had been outed as a nonce, or a Benoit fan or something.

  7. This show is the reason I got into wrestling, my first British wrestling show, my introduction to Alex Shane who impressed the fuck out of me and my first potential meeting of Greg Lambert (Neither of us can remember if we actually spoke to one another) who later gave me a break on commentary and is likely the reason I'm now a semi-professional broadcaster for a couple of different things.

  8. Another difference is, for me anyway, OJ wasn't a part of my life. Benoit was an idol of mine, someone who stood out as a torch to show what dedication and perseverance could achieve. I was genuinely emotional when he won the World Title, he'd made me care that much about his character. Now, to find out he was capable of this, I can't see a man like that as my idol anymore, so everyting I see him do will be tarnished with that knowledge.
