- The Commercial Appeal of Memphis spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler at the annual Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention last weekend.

 

Lawler confirmed that WWE is working on a DVD project for him. He said:

 

"They’ve just finished interviewing Lance Russell, Bill Dundee and Jerry Jarrett, so it’s not too far down the road. It’ll be big matches, a retrospective of my entire career. It’ll go all the way (from) the Memphis days up to the WWE days."

 

Interesting to see what Memphis matches they manage to get hold of, seen as no-one seems to be sure who owns what from the library

This is the best news I've read in ages concerning a WWE DVD, I've been wanting them to do a documentary/best of on Lawler for years now. He's done so much and has been around for decades so I imagine he's got loads of stories and insight on different things.

All this talk of Zelda is making me want to dig out my Snes and start playing A Link To The Past again.

So i spent most of the weekend catching up on Celebrity Masterchef as i didn't even realize it had started again. It's been good so far, there was a decent mix of celebs who i'd actually heard of and even some of the ones who i'd never heard of have been entertaining and surprisingly good cooks.

The only thing that's been spoiling it for me though is whenever Andi Peters turns up to critique the celebs food, i mean yes he was a finalist back in 2008 but fuck me the way he goes on just makes me think "Fuck off! You're Andi Peters not fucking Michael Winner!"

Still though i'm looking forward to the finals this week.

I know it's already been said but Steph lip-syncing along to Cena's theme was ace.

I remember really enjoying Freddy's Dead when i was a teenager, i think it was mainly down to the random cameos from Tom Arnold and Rosanne Barr, that and seeing Alice Cooper turn up as Freddy's dad.

I think it might be Jaffa, it's happening to me as well and i've noticed it seems to be whenever he's posted in a thread. His avatar is also the only one that doesn't show up on my screen.

I really want to see 'Blackman's Bounties' get made into a series now, they could also have Al Snow make a few cameos as well.

I came up with a brilliant variation to a scotch egg. What you do is take a boiled egg, wrap it in kebab meat, then coat it in batter and deep fry it. It sounds disgusting but i recommend everyone has one at least once in their life.

Just finished watching episode 2 of Uncle on BBC iPlayer and i have to say i'm really enjoying it so far. It's one of those rare occasions where BBC3 have managed to produce a sitcom that's actually funny.

I mean don't get me wrong i'm not saying it's the next Sienfeld or anything but despite the slightly out of date plot which is basically 'Immature, man-child looks after actual child with hilarious consequences' it's quite a good show.

Add me to the list of guys bumming that ending to RAW. I really enjoyed seeing Orton punch out Cena's dad as well, i was genuinely shocked that not only did Kofi get the win but he was actually allowed to escape a post-match shit kicking as well which was what i was expecting. I think the only thing that spoilt that segment was the awful OTT screaming going on while Orton went to town on Cena Senior

Here's the full segment Skip to about 10 minutes if you can't be arsed to watch the full thing. Sadly it's not quite on the same level as Nordberg in Naked Gun but it's still pretty good and Lesnar is clearly having the time of his life with it.

Edit: I'm fairly certain they had to use a stunt double as well for Gowen and I remember PowerSlam kicked up a right old fuss about it at the time even though IMO his F-5 into the ring-post from the week before looked worse and was shown uncensored over here. Go figure.
