  1. I disagree with that. In fact, to say 'literally nobody' is just completely false. The number of times I read 'mindless violence', which infers that there is no reason or cause behind any of it as if it is just a completely random, unexpected outburst of violence. I'm not going into it again though, because I've already discussed it at great length.

OK then for this point take out the people who have been hard done by would you agree the more privileged people involved (The Teacher the Uni Graduate ect ) who had very good lives committed mindless violence ect as they had no need to be angry about anything.

  2. Oh I agree it's a frankly daft and counter productive threat.

Plus then they will really have nothing to lose and even the threat of prison won't matter as at least if they get sent down they will have a roof over their heads and a bed to sleep in so prison will be a step up.

  3. Councils now threatening to evict people found to have been taking part in the riots, not much point really considering they will just be housed on some other sink estate.

How would that work the whole family or just the person doing it as it's hardily say a mothers or other family members fault if her 20 odd year old son/daughter went out looting if they were say under 16-18 they could be kept in but you can hardily confine a 20 year old to their room.

Plus will they give them other housing or just make them homeless as that will hardly help the area with a few 100 more homeless people walking around.

  4. Have the riots died down because of then Police because they were bored or because they had already looted pretty much everything worth nicking?

  5. Thinking about other solutions what could help with the younger ones anyway.

What about having victims of crime come into school to give a talk about how crime ruined their life plus maybe even school trip to a prison and have some of the prisoners talk to them and show them their future if they decide to take up a life of crime even if it only discourages a small percentage of the ones who may of been heading that way it would be worth it.

  6. "Broader debate" = "everyone to stop saying the looters are bad."

As established yesterday, nobody (bar perhaps Smeg) is ignorant of society's ills or of the benefits of the long-term solutions proposed. But constantly dropping idealistic liberal rhetoric from the ivory tower to try and grandstand over and patronise anybody with a distaste for the looters is what met with hostility, for the same reasons Woodyat avoids a lot of activism.

Actually I'm very well aware and do think long term solutions will help there is a lot of help what could be given at the same time there are some people where no matter how much help you give them no matter what you build for them or give them tto help make their life better some will still turn out bad.

If they had all of that I still think this may of happened sooner or later maybe not as bad as what we saw but all it takes is a few to start the trouble and others will soon join it's even been said some of the looters have got a good life and earn more money than most people here and in some cases have had a university education.

To use that word scum it's nothing to do with environment or upbringing or what you have or don't have you will find scum bags in the poorest of the poor to the richest of the rich.

  7. These looters are scum they aren't just attacking big businesses which is bad enough but little shops where the owner will be making just enough to get by.

They are attacking private homes with women children and OAP's in them this morning on TV there was this 7 year old girl talking about how she really thought they were going to kill her they burned down a house with a 70+ year old woman in it who had lived there most of her life luckily they got her out but everything she owned is gone.

It's nothing to do with people on benefits as said some of them are in jobs and getting paid more than most of us hell i'm on benefits myself (careers allowance as I take care of 3 disabled family members) I don't care what their excuse is either when you terrorize innocent people especially children and OAP's your scum and nothing more in fact I would say you even give the word scum a bad name.

  8. or rioting was out of character.

Now we know this was not the case in this incident I wouldn't be surprised to find that some people who are normally good and haven't stolen anything in the past or done anything illegal at all or even if they have it's only been pretty minor stuff got involved in the looting because they saw everyone else getting away with it so why can't they get some stuff to.

  9. Oh shit someones discharged a firearm on a police officer in Birmingham (it's on Sky News)

    (edited to be more accurate)

  10. There are groups of Sikhs doing their civic duty by protecting temples in Birmingham. I believe in Smethwick and West Brom. Footage has popped up on Sky News. More extensive footage can be seen on Sangat TV on ch 847. I don't believe anyone is wandering around with swords though. The footage certainly doesn't support that claim.

On Sky News they were on and at least one of them had a sword even my Mum noted that.

  11. Im not big on religion, but isnt the Sikh thing something about them being warriors as well as pious? Or some stuff like that? Its why they carry the knife. So its not really a shocker if they are defending their temples with swords.

On Sky News it said they said they aren't just defending their Temple but their community no matter what race or religion.

  12. The police officers in question have never said he fired his weapon, that was rumour and conjecture built around the IPCC's investigation and misleading sources leaked to the press.

You play with guns, eventually you may get shot ... simples.

Suggesting it was planted on him is ridiculous also, his 'partner' admitted through slip that he carried a gun, one of his good friends came out saying he always kept his gun in his sock. Face facts, he was a scummy little cunt with a firearm in the public domain. Attempting to lay this on the officer that fired the two rounds, and to claim this is an illegal shooting is farcical.

He may or may not of shot first but he did carry and gun and I highly doubt it was because he really enjoyed playing cowboys and Indians.

If he was shot by another dealer and or gang member most of these people would just say in the words of R Truth "He just GOT GOT"

  13. That would fill the jails beyond the maximum, and cost the country untold amounts, probably more than the cleanup cost. I say cosh 'em in the head, then make them walk home naked.

I think the ones who are organizing it should be given prison time they are doing via text-FB-Twitter so it should be possible to find them.

Of course ideally they all would serve prison time but I agree that would be impossible even if every prison cell in the country was empty the rioters would still probably outnumber the space available but if some do get sent down it may hopefully send a message to the others.

  14.

The rioters don't even know who Duggan was. This was about him for about five minutes in Tottenham, everything else has been motiveless carnage.

If you walked up to a lot of them and asked them about the Mark Duggan situation the answer would be "Who the fuck is he"

  15. Duggan family dont condone the violence so hopefully these idiots will hopefully stop now.

Why would it in reality it's not nothing to do with Duggan that was just a lame excuse they needed in fact I wouldn't be shocked if a lot of the rioters even know about him been shot.

  16. What's to stop anyone doing anything, numbnuts? Every post I see of yours is some amped up, scaremongering bollocks.

I'm a pessimist I always think of the worse possible outcome to any situation it's not so bad really as things usually turn out better than what I feared.

In most likely nothing will go off next year and everything will be fine and dandy but there have been meetings today about it so the top people in the Olympic Committee are at least concerned.

  17. Thankfully, you're not.

Can you honestly if you were one of these Representatives from another country you would have confidantes for the safety of you and your people.

When it's on next year it will be at this time so what's to stop them doing it again to mark the anniversary and this time when the whole world really will be watching.

  18. I know as of now The Olympics are still going to take place but I have to wonder if any other country will refuse to send their people over as TBH I certainly couldn't blame them for refusing to come over if I were one of them I'd be really thinking about it right now.

  19. h. I have only said that police in general are racist, pedantic, uncaring, suspicious of everyone, incompetent and out of touch with the concerns of real people, which they are.

Some are but the most are not most of them are just trying to do the best they can with their hands tied with so much red tape.
