Agree with all this. Was scratching my head at the "Sami must win the Rumble" talk as well as it's clearly hadn't moved that far along in the story to be a logical move.

Exactly my thoughts. At the point of their story before the Rumble, Sami being in the Rumble in the first place would have been quite daft. Why would he go into a match to face Reigns when he's been trying to prove himself all this time?

Yes they could have accelerated the story sooner and got to a point where Zayn was thrown out of the bloodline weeks ago, and entering the Rumble was his route to revenge. But they didn't, and I'm glad they didn't as we then wouldn't have had the brilliant slow burner until the most perfect payoff last night.

  2. I never thought the moment Batista turned on Evolution would be topped for pure emotion, crowd reaction, and perfect execution.

Last night has topped it and them some. So many layers to this. I don't think I've switched from excitement to dread so drastically like I did from that chairshot to the beatdown.

The greatest storyline in wrestling history. I can't think of anything that comes close.

  3. I've just been reminded of one of the very few notable things to happen in the 2010 world cup. Suarez's handball against Ghana that ultimately knocked them out.

Ghana could knock Uruguay out this Friday. Should be tasty.

  4. I'm not that excited at all about it this year. I think it's probably because the World Cup usually fills a void in the summer. The football season ended, and you didn't have to wait 8 weeks until football was back. Plus, lots already happens with the build up to Christmas, so if anything this year is a hindrance. Add to that all the stuff surrounding it being in Qatar.

I'll still watch every game though.

There were a few old headphones threads on here but they seem to have been archived, so I thought i'd start a fresh one.

So, I'm looking at picking up these Sony offerings. Anyone got any experience with them? Or would you recommend something else?

Also, feel free to post whatever you're using at the moment and why. Both in-ear or cans, it doesn't matter.

I've had the XM4s since December. Brilliant earbuds with the best noise cancelling I've experienced. Bit fiddly to get into the ear at first but you get used to it. Sound quality is great too.

  6. Me and my wife went through it over 3 days. Just a stunning show and I'm so glad they didn't stretch it out over 15-20 episodes. There are so many decent shows out there that could have been condensed into less episodes to make them brilliant shows.

It was amazing how we got attached and felt emotion towards to so many characters over such a short span. Some superb acting with a great plot and twists. Can't wait for season 2!

  7. How on earth did Wolves not score yesterday? Seems only a matter of time until someone is on the end of a thumping against them.

United were woeful but won. I guess that's a good habit to have. Fred continues to be the worst midfielder United have had in my memory. Can't pass, can't shoot, can't defend, but he has 'tenacity'. We have had a great window by addressing the CB and RW problem areas that have been there for years, but ultimately the lack of a quality central midfielder will cost us.

There's precisely no way Harry Maguire is a better defender than Aaron Wan-Bissaka. But, Solskjaer should look into turning him into a centre-back and play him with Maguire, especially if Trippier's coming in.

I thought that too about AWB, but I think his biggest issue would be the way he tackles. He pretty much commits everything when he's blocking or tackling on the wing, but that would be a lot risker in the box. The constant risk of giving away a penalty might diffuse his biggest strength.

So I gets myself double vaccinated as we still want some sort of holiday, and just as we go, I can no longer access the NHS App.

I reported it to their help team (actually, it autogenerates a query) and they responded within 24 hours. We had a bit of back and forth and they said it needed referring to a "specialist" team.

I got the automated email with the new reference number and contact address, and since then there's been nothing.

I've sent three chasers, and still no reply. I'm coming home on Friday, and I can't prove I'm vaccinated.

    I'm fucked, aren't I?

You can also get your Covid vaccination status online here:

    https://covid-status.service.nhsx.nhs.uk/

The app is quite temperamental so the website is usually a good fallback.

Mare of Easttown is a masterpiece. I can't recommend it enough. Just sitting here at me desk in work still haunted by it...

It's just brilliant, and the last few episodes stuck with me for days. You expect great acting from Kate Winslet, but she was on another level. Some really well placed funny moments here and there too.
