  1. Undertaker has to return somewhere for me. To aid against The Shield and maybe save Kane and bring him back from the Wyatts grasp - setting up a monumental six man and setting up Wyatt vs 'Taker if that's what they want to do. Rubbing shoulders as Undertakers mate in between could do DB+ nicely.

  2. It's mad to think how differently they might have treated Brodus entering WWE if it hadn't been in the more family-friendly era of today. They could have done some amazing pre-debut vignettes with footage and photos of him working with Snoop and looking like the hardest bastard on the planet. Hanging out with famous Rap stars at famous clubs, dealing with any trouble and looking like a total Player. Snoop would probably have been on board too as he seems to be down with the wrestling (wasn't he a RAW guest host once?).

    Shame he's a dancing comedy fat-man now.

They did exactly that with the original version of Brodus Clay when he was introduced on NXT. It got over a bit, but not massively. It led to him being Del Rios 'muscle', which was the ideal use of that form of Brodus Clay really.

  3. You should stick that comment in the same thread Blizack. I'd say he did enhance Rude really and you need to put guys with Heenan who are of a certain level too so he doesn't look like he's just looking after schmucks. Managing Andre, Rude and Perfect really made Heenan seem legit as the manager to have.

  4. I saw my first proper bit of ICW with Jimmy Havoc vs Chris Renfrew being submitted to the 100 matches topic, which was a Scottish World of Sport rules match, which I thought they could have done more with but, from what I've seen since it's clear the kind of tone they go and it does just seem like good fun and a cracking night out, with it always looking like a pissed up party atmosphere like Raw often did in the Attitude days which often translated great on the telly.

  5. AJ isn't really in the same boat Arch. She's clearly a lifelong fan, who has put some work into getting to where she is, but of course has had luck too, but there's that video where she was younger and met Lita at an autograph signing. I doubt you'd find one with The Bellas, JoJo or Jessica Robot doing that. You're right with the Punk pipe bomb thing though. That promo and material could be a great catalyst to turn her face because it resonates with the diehards who want everything to be about the wrestling damnit! And she's always had touches of being someone who's supposed to appeal to the Internet need types. I'm not really sure what its purpose was or if it will lead anywhere but sometimes shit like that is just fun to happen and to ruffle some feathers. I liked it and loved her confidence and conviction, as well as her lovely fuck you signature skip in the end. I've never minded AJ, think she is actually one if the better girls in the ring on the main shows at the moment but hit and miss with everything else, having a tendency to overact fairly often but other times get it just right. Anyway, I fell a little bit in love with her for the first time with her performance on Raw.

  6. Statto - I really don't know what the solution is. I agree with you, it's character first, wrestler second. But that's the issue where he's going to fall down. So much of it works and comes together in vignettes, angles and promos but so much of it goes to shit when he has to wrestle. His non wrestling look is fantastic. I don't know if i'd just prefer him to simply keep the shirt on. I thought he looked great as Husky in tights and cowboy boots but that probably wouldn't work now as Bray obviously and he's lost so much weight he'd actually look much more average dressed like that. I don't know, but it's something that should have been considered and adressed before he was called up and wrestled on Raw and PPV. Was always a concern when he was on NXT but he could get away with it there.

  7. I had considered that. I don't like him being the singles guy either though personally and preferred them being presented as a solid unit, with no leader and no ego. Rather all 3 were tag champs. And anyway, it only sets him apart by making him look shit.

On the subject of horrible ring attire, I hope something is done with Bray and what he wrestles in when we next see him competing.

  8. A while back, shortly after Curtis Axel showed up on Raw and in a thread discussing Bobby Roode and his contract running out going unnoticed by TNA, I said that had he opted to go to WWE if they were showing interest that he would probably be in Curtis Axels spot. The more time goes on the more I think that. And it's a real shame that didn't happen t be honest. Enough people in the right places are high enough on Roode and he's talented and experienced enough that he may have been put right into a prominent position on the main shows and that would have only made him being a 'Heyman guy' all the more affective. And Curtis Axel is like an inferior version of Bobby Roode, like the wrestler you'd get on some unofficial TNA video game or action figure. Just a poorer version in every single facet. You could imagine Roode would carry the role well and it would be an ideal fit for him in WWE, plus a series of matches between he and Punk would actually be quite promising, as opposed to matches with Axel which hold zero interest. Bobby could have got himself a few neat years there I reckon, i'll forever be gutted he didn't make the jump.

On the Heyman angle - don't think I love it quite as much as most do. Clearly it's done wonders for babyface Punk and there's been some great moments. Pauls screaming and the content of it really took me out of the moment on this Raw. Where it should have added to it, it really did the opposite for me. I think Paul doing everything he did but without the words and becoming noticeably emotional as he laid into Punk could have been far more affective.

When the gauntlet was set for Danny B+ I feared they're risking going into overkill with how frequent he's going to be on the shows. But, luckily that was all handled really well. The build is going nicely thus far and like others have mentioned toward a great moment of Show and Menry joining forces with D-Bry. But I still think there's mileage beyond that where The Shield topple Show and Menry and then later on somewhere The Brothers of Destruction return to aid D-Bizzle and tackle The Shield which would be a great hark back to the post-Mania Raw. D-Bry is like some wonderful combination of Chris Benoit and loveable late 90's Mick Foley, with all of their good points and none of their bad.

Loved Maddox' Teddy Long bit, that was great. That was a tremendous promo from AJ, really enjoyed that. Foleys comments regarding the promo itself were pretty accurate to be fair. That was one of the strongest promos all year and there's been some truly top ones throughout 2013. Big Show is probably the best actor on the roster, he's so great in this kind of role. Good to see him back in it, his new threads are horrid though. And agreed with Supremo on Ambrose, I commented last week about him ditching the Bossman vest. What is going on there, is he just trying to keep things fresh by changing or does he have some of issue with the attire so he keeps changing it? The original, with black vest, black shirt, black tape looked great. Everything he's tried since looking awful. Which isn't good when he's already the shittest looking of the three. Ditching the vest looks doubly wank when Reigns and Rollins are still donning there's and looking awesome in the process. Still don't get or see the appeal with Ambrose in general but this just makes me like him a whole lot less.

  9. I thought Paul Bearer was fucking incredible when he went heel in the late 90's. Obviously fairly short-lived so can't be considered in the same bracket as Heenan really and perhaps Heyman now. But fuck, was he good as the fat man who told the truth.

    - What's going on with that pic above? They all look like cardboard cut-outs.

  10. I've no idea what he's like these days but I think absence has made some of you remember differently. I thought at the beginning of the year I wouldn't mind Carlito coming back as a surprise entrant in the Rumble, but he was really no great shakes. I think Primo is more talented than Carlito to be honest. He may have improved a bunch for all I know since leaving mind.

There is some mid-carders i'd welcome back which I've mentioned before and the way RVD has slipped straight back in and freshened things up a little is a good sign. I'd happily see MVP and Tajiri back. And maybe Morrison.

  11. I can see why the ref got shit for it, although Natalya certainly should shoulder some of the blame. I found her doing that there wonderfully ironic when she was getting that win due to her role in Total Divas to begin with, which has her presented as the respected veteran who teaches amateur divas how to do things and not fuck up. I can't see how AJ was at all to blame though. Maybe she was supposed to tap quickfast sure, but Natalya barely gave her a chance too. The way it looked was like Natayla immediately knew she'd fucked it and tried to cover it and was trying to get the ref to call for the bell and raise her hand which wouldn't have looked great but would have looked a whole shit load better than the shambles it turned into. I've always thought in those sort of situations simply going back into the spot and repeating looks so, so poor. Natalya did try to think on her feet a little to save it whereas the ref just shat himself, stalled and made the whole thing a whole lot worse.
