  1. Outside of the usuals (Stone, Simmonz, Slam etc whom have all been covered already), i'd have to say Paul Robinson has had an outstanding year, as has Marty Scurll. The Kartel (Sha Samuels and Terry Frazier) also, and Aviv Maayan has been astounding in his newly reduced schedule.Jonny Storm has been exceptional whenever he's wrestled for us also.

  2. People can only represent one promotion in the Inter-Fed cup, is the reason why. When the FWA went out of business, anybody who had represented the FWA can no longer do so, so their options opened up.

  3. Realistically with the way the UKFF voting is likely to go, i can see a top 5 of:Darren BurridgeMajikPacMartin StoneDoug WilliamsPossibly with Simmonz or Drew in there instead. Not to say i'd suggest that as my top 5, i wouldn't. I can see why that would be the top 5 (and in that order, ranking 5 through 1, actually) though.

  4. Even when we had 350 people in Swanley (a legit headcount, might i add, not 500, but 350) it was still hard to fill the mass of air around the sound.I do see us returning there one day, hopefully with more than 350 people in the building and hopefully with front row a little bit closer to the ring ;).

  5. Especially with some guys who work All-Star regularly, if you mentioned every match theyd had in the past year it'd be an essay not a summary.Maybe you should reply giving a bit of detail about a certain match you enjoyed seeing X wrestler in, if UKHG doesnt mention it. For example, i don't know how many people will've seen Iceman vs Travell - what was it like? :)

  6. Is the Hune show, some great underground show that i didn't know about? Because, at, The June show, it was Kartel vs. Ota & Jon Ryan, not Martin Stone ;)!Super write ups as usual, HG!

  7. I would imagine WWE knew about this several hours before the news broke.

I have a funny feeling WWE knew about this before last night's show.
I can't see the WWE continuing to plug the Vince Memorial Special during the show having known one of their top stars had died.
  8. What's happened to the old FWA titles? Is the former FWA All England title now called the IPW:UK All England Title? And what about the Flyweight and the Tag Titles? Because the old FWA Heavyweight title is now the XWA title isnt it?Tis all a bit confusing...

The old FWA All-England title is now recognised in IPW:UK, but is still just called the All-England Title. The old FWA Heavyweight title is now recognised as the XWA (spit!) Heavyweight Title. The flyweight belts and tag titles appear to be vacated and retired - the last champions were Ross Jordan (defeated Pac @ Gorefest) and Stixx/Stone (stripped of the titles due to Stone choosing IPW over the FWA).
  9. (so say what you want about Dan Fitch, but it's possible Pac might not be where he is now without being booked by him)...

I'd strongly disagree. 3CW saw him in the IWF, i saw him on an FWA:A show, 1PW saw him on one of my shows, PWG found out about him after he wrestled Generico and Steen for us, WSX (the MTV promotion, for whom Pac was booked before visa issues kaboshed it) found out about him when he wrestled with and against Teddy Hart for us and 1PW, and Chikara knew about him after he worked for wXw in Germany (who saw him i think either for us, 3CW or 1PW).Thats pretty much the timescale of promotions for whom the original questioneer would probably want to know the answers too.
  10. Unless they're like me and are judging based on what they've seen, and still think IPW:UK isn't the best fed on there.Just saying...

Hehe. Don't worry, what i said was mainly tongue in cheek. Obviously i'm going to think we're the best, or i should stop promoting now. Then again, i think Andy Quildan's a good commentator, so what do i know?! :D
  11. While the first IPW:UK match on the list is not yet released on DVD, the second (Spud vs. Jack Storm, No Escape) certainly is, right here. This match is also currently leading the IPW:UK match of the year voting on our official forum, which is amazing for a match which a lot of our newer fans will never have seen, as it was in JANUARY of this year.

Anybody who saw the great Spud/Jack match from SAS on RQW's show on TWC Fight, check this one out. Now on special offer of a 20% discount, this week only!

Wouldn't it be awesome to get a DVD made up compiling all 10 of these matches?!

  12. PS, new Martin Stone shoot interview available here - and for all people who haven't seen IPW or LDN before (or even who have!), two special bonus matches, Stone vs. Leroy Kincaide in IPW:UK and never before released, Stone vs. Ross Jordan from LDN.

Stone talks about a number of promotions in it, including many on this list for best British and best Overall promotion.

  13. "A gold medal is a wonderful thing, but if you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it."

Honorable mention has to go to Mark Sloan, who put out a plethora of shows in 2006, almost one a week, and who will run his final ever show on January 27th in Portsmouth. And of course to All Star, Britain's true #1 promotion and a leading light to any promoters who have aspirations to make promoting their full-time occupation.

This great award, which it looks like we wont succesfully defend having been voted best of 2005, does proove one thing though - that although IPW:UK has excellent reach, we have *AT LEAST* 73 more wrestling fans that we need to try and attract to shows in 2007 who clearly haven't seen us yet :D. And of course a thank you to Hat Guy for an awesome summation of IPW:UK.

  14. A big thank-you to our fans for even just nominating us as one of the top 10 promotions in the world, let alone to currently rank fourth. I know exposure can often be a key factor in some of these awards, but it's the opinions of those to who you do reach that matter most. To quote John Candy from Cool Runnings...

Edit: Just a quick edit (from the owner of UKFF approved #4 promotion in the world) to say that anybody who HASN'T caught British wrestling before, RQW i believe are selling some of their DVDs at just

  15. Aside from Adam Shame, i've seen all of these guys (/gal) this year and all deserve to be on here, especially Martin, Pac, Spud and Ashley who have had fantastic years for one reason or another. And jesus christ if Drew Galloway isnt the biggest WWE-esque 'prospect' around!
