  1. I've just learned that Zelda: Twilight Princess isn't due to be released until November 24, 2006. Absolutely harrowing.Still, it'll give me a chance to play and finish MGS: Subsistence, Shadow of Colossus and Ico :(

Are any stores still going to stock gamecube games in November? They may as well make it a Revolution launch title seeing as it can use he wand anyway.24 is out March 17th.Guitar Hero is coming to UK! Guitar Hero
  2. We Love KatamariThis game is one of the most surreal I have ever played yet is so much fun. You basically roll a ball about making it bigger by picking up things in you way. you begin with coins and pencils, getting bigger to roll up balls, bicycycles, people, cars, buildings, countries and ultramen! one of the most addictive and enjoyable games I have ever played!

  3. There was a thread or perhaps it was even in here about Command and Conquer. EA are releasing The First Decade for PC next month featuring every comman and conquer game and expansion pack with a host of extra goodies. Its up to preorder at HMV online for

  4. Off sick (>cough, splutter<), so have been tucked up on the sofa with a hot water bottle and Resi 4. Cracking stuff. I've just killed El Gigante (yep) and rescued Ashley, but I'm now tragically short on ammo and about to return to the village. I do have a hoofin' great rocket launcher should the need arise, though...

You only get one shot for your money, then you need to buy another damn rocket launcher :(Why doesn't the merchant sell ammo? Doesn't he know theres a higher mark up with accessories? Tempt you with the weapons then make a killing selling on ammo. Pah
  5. I think there were a couple of additions to Libery City Stories but i'm pretty sure you still couldn't swim unlike San Andreas. It would be very lazy of them not to enhance this game from the PSP version - it would maybe appeal to those who already owned the PSP game.

  6. This is interesting.Liberty City Stories PS2 boundSeems like a bit of a step back, to be honest. In a weird way I wanted for the next GTA game to be on the PS3 and blow all of our fucking minds, as the wait would make it all the sweeter, but I guess this will tide us non-PSP owning GTA fans over. If anything, I think it should be a budget title, but it's

  7. A new Gunstar Heros game is on the GBA, James Pond games seem to be re-released on the PSone. A very fine selection of games there Mr Seven. One of my favourite megadrive games is Dynamite Headdy. An insane platformer where ypu played a puppet and could change your head to do different things. I also loved Splatterhouse - a very very violent game, I'm shocked there was no uproar. Not long now till this comes out hereB000ALM3TA.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpgthere seems to be a boom of retro games at the moment, EA, Codemasters and Konami should jump on board and get their mega drive games re-released. The good old days when EA were a respected games company with the awesome 'Strike' trilogy.

no streets of rage :(*smashes things*
Smash more - The Japanese got the entire trilogy on the Sonic Gems collection - if released in the UK it would have had a higher certificate so Sega removed it :(
  8. i had cosmic spacehead, and id be fucked if i ever could have understood it :(

To this day I have no idea what it was about!!
You were an alien that had found earth and nobody believed you so you set off to try and go back and get proof. The puzzle bits were difficult and the platforming was just plain annoying - seemed to be put there as the actual adventure part of the game wasn't long enough. I remember that freaky eyes bit, seemed to be in the caves.

  10. I have a bit of a predicament as to which game i should start plasying next

Resident Evil 4 is one of the very best games ever made and the rest aren't.But don't let me influence you. :smug:Edit:Actually, this thread could do with a bit more Christmas-game reviewage. I didn't get anything games-related myself, but if you did, then let's hear about it...
I've just done hapter 2 of Resident Evil 4 and haven't found it that special. I am a horror game fan but I knew this was more about action than scares this time around. I think all the hype has maybe led me to not expect much more from it. All it seems to be is shoot villagers in head and hide girl in big bin. The boss with the fake eye and the siege with the spanish guy was cool but even that was still shoot the hordes of silly folk in the head. I hope theres more variety soon, even chainsaw man has dissapointed me by being annoying rather fearsome.Got God Of War in the sales. Now that's an epic. Though after a gaming binge I ifnihsed it rather quickly. Back to resident evil I guess. And if Resident evil 5 doesn't have Barry Burton Capcom can fuck off.
  11. Just finished Silent Hill 3. I don't agree with Pink2 (oh yes) when he says that SH2 is the best in the series, because I found SH3 to be far superior. It's certainly scarier. SH2 had corridors and corridors of doors that you had to try one by one, and most of them wouldn't open, so it was boring. SH3 has corridors and corridors of doors that you are SCARED to open, but you know you have to anyway, and that makes it scarier. SH2 never had that effect on me. Only the puzzles let the game down; they're either obvious or - on Hard puzzle mode - impossible, with nothing in between. Only the puzzles prevent me from saying that this game is better than the original. Now to find a cheap copy of SH4...Also, I've revised my opinion of GTA:LCS sharply upwards, because I've now tried multiplayer. It is AWESOME. I was at a mate's yesterday and played a straight deathmatch and a tank match (a great variation on king-of-the-hill - one guy has a tank, everyone else wants it). If my battery hadn't given out we'd probably still be playing now. Fantastic.

I prefer the story in Silent Hill 2 compared to 3, its really messed up when you get to the end and you realise whats going on and why Angela, Eddie and yourself have been summoned to Silent Hill and why the young girl is not freaked out at all. Forget your 50cent Bulletproof THIS is a mature video game.I'll agree about the scariness of Silent Hill 3. That game was really nasty. Highlights for me are the subway victim, the mannequin, THAT mirror room :( and the haunted house! Make sure you're copy of Silent Hill 4 is cheap, it's probably the worst of the series and after a year I still havent had the motivation to finish the thing. It wasn;t orignally a Silent Hill game and it shows. Its not as scary, though it does get a bit freaky after the first half, and it feels very rushed and unfinished. The sound, one of the most important elements of the series, is a huge dissapointment. The story is pretty decent though but the overall game put me off from finishing yet, yet I still happily play the other 3 games. I'll do it one day, perhaps tomorrow :D
  12. Wasn't the third act of Fahrenheit just laughable?Hitman Contracts is repetitive but fun. I hate Splinter Cell, and True Crime was pretty poor.

The third act of Fahrenheit was truly dreadful. it was as if David Cage had sat down and written a start to a story but hadn't come up with an ending and latched on a whole lot of nonsense. I had really been enjoying the game until that point. Carla's character devlopement seemed to go straight out the window. I would love to see another game using a refined version of the engine and a decent ending.
  13. Worlds Scariest Police Chases (PS1)All that needs to be said is that it has running commentary by the legendary Sheriff John Bunnel

And I still watch it on the tele :D (Channel 5 / previously on Bravo)
:) Same here! I love those chessy scenes with Bunnel walking around random crime scenes and getting into helicopters. His commentary is so OTT, he should be hired for RAW!
  14. I didn't like the step up to 3D graphics, with keyboard controls. It looked ugly, and rather than getting pulled in and believing I was really on a great pirate adventure, I just felt like I was playing a game. :(It was really funny at times though, and I'm sure if they made it today it'd look a lot better. The atmosphere of the game was killed for me with the 3D graphics though, because 3D still looked pretty ugly until a year or two ago.MI2 was really hard at times, but surely the whole fun of an adventure game is sitting there for hours at a time not actually doing anything, browsing the same screens for days, trying every combination of item on item until something comes up. An adventure game wouldn't be complete without a stupidly hard puzzle or two.(Unless it involves a goat in Broken Sword.)

Every month there would be someone asking in a video game mag cheat page 'how do I get past the goat in broken sword'My worst one was in Broken Sword 2 with some wee warthog I think. I spent hours trying to find out what to do then I read a guide, I had inadvertently made a mistake on the screen with the warthog which made getting any further in the game impossible  My last save was miles back as well :(
  15. Sadly the third game didn't do the best sales wise which sent shockwaves through the industry and was almost certaintly responsible for the decision to can the new Sam and Max game.

But, ah-ha, the author recently re-acquired the rights to the Sam & Max brand so he's off developing again.
Yeah saw that on Game Central after I posted! I see he works at Pixar, wonder if they will get involved, would look gorgeous.
  16. I've recently started playing on Broken Sword 3 after seeing it pimped in this thread and realising that I never got it when it came out due to not having a PS2.

the broken sword games are ace. They are nice and challenging. I have completed them all. Does anyone know if broken sword is just a trilogy or are there plans for a broken sword 4 to be released?
Sadly the third game didn't do the best sales wise which sent shockwaves through the industry and was almost certaintly responsible for the decision to can the new Sam and Max game. The developers of Broken Sword seem to be focusuing on getting the game out on PDAs and a great console for the games is probably the Nintendo DS with its touch screen. I think some people have managed to emulate the Monkey Island games on DS and PSP already. This talk of adventure games has put me in the mood to re-install Grim Fandango, what an awesome game!
  17. Opinions on Tekken 5 thenGreat game, probably the pinnacle of the series. A retyrn to form after the odd and very slow Tekken 4. Lots of fighters and the story mode has nice comic book style epilogues and prologues and of course some spiffy FMV sequences. The final boss though can be very annoying with some very cheap moves. To pad out the game Namco have also included arcade perfect versions of Tekeen 1-2. Its really funny to look back at the graphics here! Theres alos a mini game called Devil Within. Closest comparsion I can give for this mode is perhaps that old PS1 game 'Fighting Force' though you can transform into a devil! Its a fun diversion from main game.Better than: Tekken 4, Dead or Alive 2 (keeping it to PS2 games)Worse than: Perhaps Soul Calibur 2 though the fighting is different
