I believe Benoit is survived by both his parents as well as two kids from a previous relationship. To be honest my thoughts go out to them right now.

They are doing the right thing there. They know that Benoit merchandise would proabably sell very well right now but they don't want to be seen to be making any profit from this situation. It does seem the wwe doesnt want anything to do with this now, a lot of the benoit stuff is gone from wwe.com and the Benoit DVD is no longer available at silvervision.

It hasn't officially been mentioned yet but I imagine it will be at the press conference at 8pm (UK time) tonight.Sorry guys. But has the order of death been established for sure as of yet? Id never be able to re read all of the posts to find it if its already been mentioned.

I wouldn't refer to him as a serial killer, but maybe that is just me.

When a news source lists them like that it certainly makes for uncomfortable reading.Oh fuckity fuck. Somebody at Fox finally put the pieces together:Lots of wrestlers die

Yeah, Atlanta are 5 hours behind the UK.Will that be 8pm tonight then ?

Read the link submitted in the post by GIB.
Yeah man, ANYONE can send a text, make it look like he's still alive and acting oddly, make the suicide thing look more feasable.Seriously........what? So you think someone has been using his mobile phone to text his WWE mates??

Sure he may have texted Chavo etc. DURING the show but look at the rest of the story. Pure sensationalism. Possibly watching the show?? How do they know this? Watching it with his son....who MAY have been alive??? It is almost like they are painting a picture of Benoit watching a WWE PPV with his dead son after killing his wife. Who wrote that article???http://www.tmz.com/2007/06/26/benoit-murde...tails-revealed/
Benoit Murder Details RevealedPosted Jun 26th 2007 11:37AM by TMZ StaffTMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing.Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths. One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.A police investigation is ongoing.

Now would be a good time to dip into that extensive video library though. I'm sure they would get away with filling one episode of Smackdown as a 'Best of.....' and actually putting the best matches on it.
He has a responsibility to broadcasters to provide a certain amount of original TV, so just dropping tapings like that isn't so easy. I was suprised they did it, I can only assume no one was up to it.EDIT: Regarding the Vince memorial, before everyone get's up in arms, it's not that they've replaced Benoit, with Vince, it's just that they've rolled back to page to before the update, back to when Raw was still to be a memorial to Vince. It means very little.Vince will protect his company first before anything. That is why I'm a little surprised he isn't taking a week off at the very least and not having the ECW/Smackdown show tonight go ahead.

I see it when I click on the RAW link on the front page...............

Ah I see!! Apologies for picking you up wrong
Sorry, I wasn't saying that SmackDown should be a memorial show - I think that WWE have done the right thing in planning to run a matches-only broadcast. I was just correcting the above poster.
I appreciate what you are saying here but things are a bit different with Benoit's. There is a large cloud hanging over this one. i think whoever stated they should take a few weeks off has got it spot on. This means they don't do anything thay may embarass them in the future, it gives the other wrestlers time to come to terms with this and lastly (and less importantly) it gives Creative the time to come up with a totally new direction.
When Eddie passed away, both Raw and SmackDown were memorial shows. As the WWE has only in the past given passed wrestlers a single memorial show i would be surprised if they changed that in this circumstance.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone wrote a book or even made a film (not financed by the WWE) about these events. In our celebrity driven world we potentially have one who, admittedly is a little off the mainstream but is still known internationally, quite possibly could have murdered his family. When it is all over someone will make money from this situation. It is sad but also true.
-
They weren't celebrating the passing of Benoit. They were celebrating his career. Two totally different things.
This is the company who tried to make money of the first gulf war so celebrating the passing of benoit is hardly the worst thing they have ever done
No way should WWE celebrate the career of Benoit if he has indeed killed his family, that would be the dumbest thing ever for them to do.Its also very sad that if fears are confirmed, he may not be put into the Hall Of Fame, which would be an almighty shame.

I'm sure Nitro looking at being given a Title in a worked business won't relate this 'luck' to what has occured to the Benoits.Johnny Nitro must feel like crap. Won his first world title because the man who was meant to go over that night had allegedly snapped and killed his family.

Source: PWInsider.comWWE has pulled all Chris Benoit merchandise from their Shopzone web site. Obviously this was done in reaction to the recent news regarding the Benoit family tragedy. If you search Benoit
-
Thankfully the WWE have removed the Benoit signed action figure from their Auction site as well.

To the public at this time, yes. But the WWE have already stated they know more than they are allowed to say at this time so there is SOME knowledge to what has happened.Dazz it's much more than speculation (typically speaking cops let on a fraction of what they know)
