  1. Maybe Garcia not "clicking" is intentional and it could easily be the catalyst of the feud people on here have hinted at between JAS and BCC.

He's got plenty of history with Danielson and Moxley. He also said in one of his promos with Jericho that all his life he wanted to be a professional wrestler (unless I've imagined that which may be the case). He finds himself not "clicking" as a sports-entertainer and instead turns back to professional wrestling and joins Regal and his boys or Jericho decides that Garcia isn't a sports-entertainer and Regal welcomes him in as a professional wrestler.

Throw Kingston and Yuta in with Regal as well a heel turn in from Orange Cassidy who appreciates Jericho after their battles and you're ready made for the next Stadium Stampede/Blood and Guts match.

  2. Given current world events, I was surprised they allowed Leyla Hirsch to wear the Russian flag on her gear especially when every other sport is distancing themselves from Russia as much as possible. I'm not saying it's right or wrong either, just surprised. I was happy to see her win as I've never really enjoyed Statlander.

Hook was Hook. And credit to QT for playing his part.

Glad to see House of Black picking up the win. They could have very easily given the win to Redbeard as a little nod to Brodie but steered from that direction. And if we're take House of Black serious, despite the "spooky" shit, then they need to win matches.

Jericho and Kingston was fucking unreal. Credit to both for putting on a match of that quality. Was expecting Santana and Ortiz to pop up somewhere, maybe tonight they'll slag Jericho off for not shaking Eddie's hand.

Tag title triple threat was enjoyable enough. I understand the criticism of reDRagon and with Kenny's return on the horizon the eventual Cole/Fish/O'Reilly v Omega/Bucks will hopefully end the feud once and for all - but I doubt it. Jurassic Express continue to impress. Possibly a feud with House of Black next.

Ladder match didn't do much for me. I did like Starks and Hobbs shaking hands before they both went to climb the ladder but that was about it. Danhausen doesn't do anything for me either. I know he has his fans but it's lost on me. Wardlow winning is probably the right result (and I took Punk's title motions as a nod to Wardlow for going to win the TNT Title rather than his own wish of the world title).

Tay Conti was on my screen so that made the TBS Title good enough. Jade continues to get better as well.

Punk and MJF was a great match that still somehow didn't quite reach the expectation I had for it. Build to it was excellent and if it hadn't been as good as it was, the match probably would have surpassed expectation. I felt Moxley/Danielson fell into the same category. Great matches the pair of them but not as great as the build deserved. But as everyone else has said, at the end of the Mox/Danielson match we got Regal so it's all good. I'm not sure I want Mox/Danielson to actually team together but just be parts of the same stable.

Women's title match was the real lowpoint of the night. People talk about Hangman's chase being better than the actual reign of champion, I think that saying is a lot more fitting for Britt. The enjoyment of her has just been getting worse as times gone on.

Trios match was just fun. And Sting probably stole the show.

Main event was alright. But like most, I didn't consider Cole a genuine threat to Page's title so it was hard to get overly excited for it. Hopefully Page can move onto something with a bit more substance now. He's meandered through the Archer and Cole matches that now he needs a feud that means something - especially with the next PPV centring on the Owen Hart Cup so Hangman may have to take another backseat.

  3. Couple of months down the line we get the inevitable Blood & Guts match pitting the ROH originals against the AEW originals.

Punk, Danielson, Daniels, Cabana and a returning Samoa Joe against Omega, Bucks, Hangman and a returning Cody Rhodes.

The Mox feud is going to be a major What if... Mox would have ran through the Dark Order in a similar way. It's just there would have been a lot more wild brawls and heated promos in the build up between him and Hangman.

    He still could.

Mox's feud/relationship with Danielson is centring on violence. They could easily team up for a few months, get a tag title match and lose to Jurassic Express (who were the first people Bryan teamed with in AEW) because Danielson takes pity on Jungle Boy only for Mox to turn round the following Dynamite and say Danielson isn't violent enough, that's why he couldn't beat Page. And he was going to show Danielson how it should be done and go with it from there.

  5. Cesaro is the sort of person AEW don't need but will probably sign anyway.

He's capable of having great matches but never struck me as capable of being anything beyond a mid-level wrestler. And as I stopped watching WWE probably five or six years ago I'm seeing people like Lee/Black/Matthews/Fish/O'Reilly for the first time now so I don't have the concerns some do over them arriving in AEW. Whereas Cesaro is of the generation that put me off WWE (I'm not saying it's his fault WWE became too tedious to watch) and falls very much into the mid-decade era of all midcard wrestlers along with Ziggler, Kofi, Cody, Miz.

  6. Tony Khan buys ROH.

Cody Rhodes then signs for ROH.

Cody then becomes ROH World champion.

AEW then want to get rid of all ROH recognised titles and therefore have a unification match between Cody and whoever is AEW champ at the time.

    Brandi referees the match.

Cody wins to become the first All Elite Wring World champion.

Cody cuts a promo nobody understands but is still neither face or heel in his own mind.

It's win-win all round for everybody. Khan gets his wish of owning ROH. AEW keeps it's word of not signing Cody. Cody works his way round the stipulation of not challenging for the current AEW World title. And Brandi gets some more main event air-time. There isn't a person alive who isn't loving that scenario.

  7. After getting some xpac heat in AEW, I would love his first WWE promo to be xpac-esque. "my friends Matt and Nick Jackson would be standing right here with me if they weren't being held hostage by All Elite Wrestling and that's a fact Tony Khan". And then next week when AEW debuts in Connecticut, Vince, Cody and Brandi drive down to Dynamite on a tank.

  8. I was expecting Danielson to turn up after the Punk/Mox tag match and demand his answer from Mox - especially after a tag match. And Mox turn around and say something along the lines of "I'll team with you, if he does" and then AEW have a team of Moxley/Punk/Danielson or alternatively turn Danielson down saying he's found his tag team partner in Punk. Opening the door to Danielson finding someone new to team with and take on Mox/Punk.

When Punk and Danielson debuted there was so much clamour for them to team up against the Bucks. Six months down the line, I don't think they've interacted with each other once on screen and because of their talents individually are still outshining most of the rest.

  9. Maybe this is just finding fault for the sake of it but on the AEW roster page, it gives you the option to check out title history and every time Cody has won the TNT title, he's got a different picture whereas everyone else has a bog-standard picture. They've even used the same pictures of Kenny and Hangman on their tag team title reign as well as their world title runs.

  10. What are the chances of TBS talking John Cena into a AEW appearance or two given they're on the same network with him doing Wipeout for them.

Throw him in a feud with Matt Hardy and they can have the deletion match on the set of Wipeout.

It’s interesting that he hasn’t appeared with the rest of Team Tazz at all recently, and now his first real feud appears to be with a heel. I wonder, rather than turn Hobbs and Starks face, if the conscious plan is to quietly distance him from them without actually saying that’s what’s happening? He’s brilliant regardless and, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but QT Marshall is an excellent choice for that first feud.

I'm guessing but as he's Taz's son he'll always be a part of a Team Taz in some sort or another. Until the day comes that he's feuding with his old man of course. An obvious storyline is Hobbs and/or Starks getting jealous of HOOK and telling Taz to choose between Team Taz or his son.

One thing I'm happy, and surprised, with is that the company as a whole is putting over the reactions he's getting. They're not trying to force us to believe he's a heel when it's clear as day that everybody loves him.

The Bucks will ally with Page against Cole & ReDragon, then once that's over with Kenny will come back and we'll have some "whose side are the Bucks on?" stuff

Nah Kenny is returning with the Good Brothers to take on Page & Bucks and Cole & reDRagon in a three way trios match.

And just before the match we get a graphic for a Cody Rhodes announcement who rambles on for 20 minutes about stuff nobody cares for but then says Tony Khan has rocked the wrestling foundation to it's core with it's two newest signings - "welcome to the ring, my partners in this, now, four way trio match, AJ Styles and Prince Devitt. The Bullet Club Alumni are now all elite. "

Then we get a fingerpoke of doom rehash and the 12 of them have a big group hug.

Didn't it come out on his reality show that Cody focus groups his promos with the boys in the back? Who the hell in the back would have thought this was a good promo for him to cut?

Maybe it was his friend Ricky Starks. His real-life friend. Who for some reason got a mention during the promo.

Cody's promo wouldn't have been half as bad if the crowd were behind it. But they never are these days. Not with him anyway.

Him turning up just ends up being one of those segments where they try to get themselves over with silly chants and you can hear the unrest and once you've lost an audience like that it's very difficult to get them back.

Watch Punk. Watch Mox. They have everyone hanging off every damn word because what they say matters. There's logical substance to their content. Cody? Fuck knows what he's doing but he's already fighting an extreme uphill battle to win over a bunch of people that no longer give a shit.

It's amazing how far from grace Cody has fell. In AEW's early days, his promos had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. He had the fire in his words and for a lot of those early days he was the best thing on the show. Unfortunately as AEW has grown, Cody seems to have been left behind. And instead of nailing his colours to the mast one way or the other, he's trying to be clever with his tweener shit that nobody but him is interested in.

But if you're going by size, Darby Allin is far smaller, and he looks pretty generic without the make-up. Jeff Hardy is hardly build like a brick shithouse, and Kevin Owens doesn't look like your stereotypical wrestler; not that he has to.

I'm not somebody who gets hung up about the way Cole looks but the three you mentioned, none of them wrestle in just a pair of trunks. They hide their less-than-sterotypical-wrestler physiques. Whereas somebody like PAC, who is shorter than Cole and also wrestles in just trunks, doesn't get grief because his body looks good.

  15. The Wardlow/MJF/Punk thing seems to be heading to a climax with next week's shows in Wardlow's hometown followed by a week in Chicago.

Whether they drag it out to Atlantic City and have some sort of casino reference to determine the match stipulation remains to be seen. Maybe one spin of the wheel to see if Wardlow earns an AEW contract or remains contracted to MJF.

  16. Show started off on fire with Mox and then quickly dipped a level or two and stayed rather flat throughout.

I was hoping when Baker went through the table and Cole was more interested in getting the win that Big Tone would have ran down from commentary to check on her.

  17. Moxley is their wrestler, so while him returning is a surprise of sorts, it also makes sense to advertise him. Although I would have thought they'd bring him back next week in Ohio for the home-state hero's welcome. Unless they're hoping that him returning tonight might push a few extra sales for next week (if they're struggling for ticket sales, I don't know)

  18. They're in Cleveland, Wardlow's hometown, in a couple of weeks. Given how much they love to play up the hometown hero, it seems a fairly obvious place for them to make the turn. Maybe have MJF cut his typical promo where he runs down the city they're in and have Wardlow just twat him.

  19. Can Archer just get a title shot though? Doesn't it make a mockery of their rankings if Lance Archer who hasn't been seen for months just walks in and challenges their world champ. Especially when you consider Archer hasn't won on Dynamite since last July. Even with everyone's records resetting, Archer has to be behind others in the pecking order.

When he's talking about a "dream signing", I can't imagine it'll be anyone other than a legend. My guess would be, unfortunately, that he feels like enough time has passed for them to bring Ric Flair in.

Given Battle of the Belts and next weeks Dynamite/Rampage are both in North Carolina, it would point to Flair.
