Don't think I've watched a UFC live in the past few years but Volk vs Makhachev feels like one to be there for - you've either got Volkanovski cementing himself even further among the best to ever do it, or you've got more evidence that Islam is about to be 155's Volkanovski. Might just set an alarm for it though because as you say the undercard is underwhelming for this one.

Seems like a terrible father

Let's not overlook the comedy value of Pimblett/McGregor getting booked. He doesn't have a chance in hell of winning it, even with the spiral McGregor seems bent on, but it might be the only fight where I'd be happy to see a Pimblett win. McGregor being beaten by the Poundland version of himself is the kind of moment that could bring the whole family together.
-
I'd be up for a Clay Guida fight, I've got fond memories of him in his heyday and I'd love to see him batter the shine off of Pimblett. Maybe I'm being harsh on Paddy here but given he's struggling against a Jared Gordon I'm not sure (if I was the UFC) that I'd have faith in him to take on Guida, even a Guida in decline.

Aye, I'm another one who reads everything but rarely pipes up. I'm a fair weather fan these days so these write-ups and chats are a godsend for helping me stay current.

Death Stranding 2!!
I know Kojima splits the crowd here but I can't bloody wait, I'm going to replay the first game after I get totally bored of MG Survive which I only just bought to be a Metal Gear completionist. Four quid from CEX tho, not a huge loss.
Once I clear my remaining backlog I'm gonna replay with the Director's Cut. I'm unabashedly into Kojima's bullshit, glad we're getting another one.

If you haven't read it, there's a great Vice piece about how that Tim Curry moment came about

Is that the Victoria in Cleveleys?
Great spotting! I used to work at the Morrisons just down the road from it so it was often our starting points for nights out before we'd taxi into Blackpool proper

We're all remote now, so our Xmas party is getting drunk playing Jackbox games on Discord with a Deliveroo voucher form the company. It's not the same, but it is nice to be able to finish the party then walk six feet to my bed.
My last proper Xmas work pub crawl was when I worked at Morrisons, and we all went out for the night as Santa and his reindeer and ended up doing karaoke at 2am. Still love the pictures of this night (I'm Santa, and that is not a hair dye but white spray paint that took me fucking ages to remove)Â

That's sad news, I got to work with him a bit when I was still in that weird Alex Shane Britwres circle and he was always a really nice bloke to be around. Thoughts are with his family, especially so close to Christmas like this.
-
I don't get to do the big family Christmas thing any more for similar reasons as Keith - my mum's the former Party Director for UKIP and isn't shy about expressing her opinions, while I'm the source of trouble for not just sitting there and listening to it for hours on end. My wife's family are all back in Florida (where she moved from) and it's too costly to fly over there for a few days so it'll just be the two of us devouring ungodly amounts of cheese and watching Jingle All The Way until bedtime.

What were everyone’s top moments from the show as a whole?
There's so many, and I'm sure even more I've forgotten. Alongside the ones mentioned I'll put two from the finale:
Andor's conversation with Luthen - to Goosh's point about his eyes always looking for a way out this was such a great inverse of that. He's not looking for a way out, he's not looking for an escape. He's all in and his eyes are so full of emotion and focused directly on Luthen almost the entire time.
and then Syril's Han Solo style rescue of Daedra and her full-body shaking, this equal mix of disgust and like she might kiss him and his smug little smirk at being the hero in the moment. Just fantastically toxic. I'm obsessed. If you haven't seen it, this fancam from a few episodes ago had me losing it:Â https://www.tiktok.com/@patrickhwillems/video/7161835913016773930 -
Looks like another thread was made in Off Topic and Moo said it should be all sorted as of a few minutes ago.Â

Sorry, this is the only place I can create a topic under my account but I think something fucky is going on in the backend.
When I hit the main page I'm logged out and can only log in using an email but any time I try I get a 'Something went wrong' message. If I navigate to another page, I am given access to a random UKFF'ers account including their account profile's private info (DM's, email address etc.) I haven't pushed the limits of it (I don't want to read anyone's private shit, or post as them if it'll let me get that far) but it seems like something worth looking into if Moo or someone else with access is around -
One of those episodes where I finished it and immediately needed to rewatch it - still a bit in awe of how well they stuck the landing on this.
So many moments burned into my brain coming out of that. Maarva's speech, Mon Mothma gaslighting Perrin to set up a cover for her shady money shit, Karn's desperation to lick Daedra's boots, Luthen literally seeing The Rebellion capital T capital R spark to life organically in front of him, every single second Brasso was on-screen, the heartbreaking moments with Bix and that final moment between Andor and Luthen. Just absolutely incredible. Television!
I don't even like Star Wars and I'm so invested in this show I'm listening to a podcast about it. -
Steam Autumn Sale just hit and demolished my wallet - picked up both the Judgment games, a fun little puzzler called Taiji, and figured I'd take a punt on that Gotham Knights now it's £40. I just finished Miles Morales and that's got me in the mood for some more generic superhero trash.

I've made the move to Cohost recently, but not so much as a Twitter alternative as a replacement. I've not been happy on Twitter for a while, and with being the 'public face' of a fairly large game that a lot of teens play Twitter is now mostly a place where they remind me about my job 24 hours a day.
Cohost is closer to a tumblr than a Twitter though, and the lack of discovery and no algorithmic content means I feel like I can just be on there to read long blogs from interesting games/film people and chat my own shit to a small audience of people that actually know me. I've never managed to 'quit' Twitter before but having somewhere else to put that posting impulse is definitely helping curb the urge. -

It's AEW tradition to constantly fumble the masked person reveal. The only two instances in the win column that comes to mind is MJF at All Out and that one time Sting was under a Sting mask.

Great sleuthing! Sad to have discovered I misremembered it to make Bray look worse, but glad to discover Astro getting props from the big man.
-
Someone correct me here, but when Bray first debuted on NXT I have a memory of someone (Astro?) putting together a blog post covering all the different references and influences on the character, only to have Bray respond on Twitter that he was overthinking it. I feel like that one interaction has outlined the rest of his career. Wyatt doing spooky shit on-screen because he's spooky and then fans bringing as much to it themselves as they can.

I'm not sure how much I believe in this being an intentional wrecking, rather that they've been raised and surrounded by a Thatcher 2.0 ideology (that everyone with an ounce of common sense has told them would fuck up immediately), a media class designed to enable and encourage that so they've got 'think tanks' telling them they're right and the people will support it, they're reading papers and online editorials tell them they're right and they just have to have the power of will or some other gobshite to 'make the hard decisions' and we're now so far down the list of possible PM's we've gone past the ones who do it a bit but are savvy enough to land at least a bit closer to the political centre and we've got to the real, bought-in ideologues who thought they had it all figured out and were about to be hailed as heroes, all until about 20s after they did it when it fucked everything up in an instant and the support structures turned against them for exposing the lie.

Jonah is (formerly) NXT's Bronson Reed. Hefty Australian fella who does a big splash, he's good value for money.

Christ, I wish I had a body like that. Too many chippy teas has left me with the arse of a Kardashian and the gut of Jack Black.
In a sign of my strong mental capacity of late, I forgot that Japan was ahead of us in timezones and was expecting to wake up to this show tomorrow so also got masisvely spoiled on Twitter. Might be a blessing though, I love Clay Guida - hate to see him lose (though a calf slicer finish is a rarety!)
