  1. 1991's version of Argos. I'm going to go as far and say they still had a warehouse full of Sting and Luger left for the 1992 catalog.

I posted these scans in the old "vintage toys" thread. My head exploded upon finding them. Something about looking at old catalogs that does it for me. Batman, Turtles, Ghostbusters, they all looked so much better in Argos.

Cant agree with the WCW ring, though. It had a cage, fair enough, but it was so tiny. The big blue hasbro ring was amazing for Royal Rumbles and Survivor Series matches.

I always thought that the snake that came with Jake's figure was wrapped around him like that just for the design while it was in the packaging. And then when i actually got Jake's figure i was surprised that the snake was shaped like that. I had assumed that you would've been able to straighten it out. Hogan's figure was always fucking sold out at our local Argos.

  2. Wonder why they're are going with a 1hr kick off show before NOC? You would think they would only bother doing this for the "Big Four" not for a NOC PPV. Also they said for the first time a one hour kick off. That's bullshit because they've done that for at least two other PPV's WM29 was one i remember. And WM30 had a 2 hour kick off. And since Jericho is going to be on Christian's peep show i wouldn't be surprised if he gets attacked and his match with Orton doesn't happen on the PPV itself. Either way he's going to be written off TV again one way or another on Sunday as we know it's his last night again.

  3. The thing that everyone was probably thinking after watching this weeks Raw would've been why was that Henry and Rusev segment on last to close the show? At the end of the day i think it's obvious that Henry is not the chosen guy to beat Rusev's undefeated streak. Surely it would've made more sense to close the show with Lesnar and Cena being pulled apart ? Unless Brock didn't want to hang around the arena until 11.00 to close the show. I hope that Bray is not going to be booked in a programme with Big Show next. I find the Big Show to be so fucking boring. If he was to leave it would be fine with me. And when is Sister Abigail going to join the Wyatt family? They used to drop hints on commentary that she could be on her way but it seems to have gone quiet. Unless we just have to wait for another Diva from NXT to be ready for the main roster. It seems like the whole "Authority" angle is slowly being phased out. Shame if it means Triple H and Steph aren't going to be on Raw every week. I was loving Steph's promos lately.

  4. How was Kane ever meant to lose that match at KOTR with the "First Blood" stipulation considering he wears a mask? I think we all knew Austin was gonna drop the title that night. The big surprise was them having the rematch on Raw the next night with Austin winning it back. Surely they could've let Kane hold it until Fully Loaded.

  5. So if it was the season premiere of Raw it should have been the season premiere of Smackdown last week too. What was the difference? I think it was just to give them something else to rant about during commentary.  Can't recall them doing it last year. Last time i remember them talking about a season premiere was 5 or 6 years back.

  6. I know, but the nWo was a given as at the time it was the biggest thing to happen in wrestling for a long time. It would be impossible to do anything about WCW in the 90s without the nWo

Yes but my point is that they could balance it out like you had said and give the likes of Goldberg his own episode during the run.

  7.

They stopped the blading when they switched to PG. Yes i know they bladed a couple of times while it was PG in 1997 but it seemed to have been banned full stop since the PG switch in September 2008. They stopped the chair shots to the head to reduce the number of concussions.

It's banned because it's fucking stupid and the company's concerned with cleaning up its image, not because PG television doesn't allow blood. About a quarter of Raw episodes have someone bleeding at some point because accidents happen, and it hasn't been pulled off the air for it or had the rating changed back to TV14. WWE isn't going to start letting wrestlers cut their head open with razorblades again just for the Facebook likes of bloodthirsty cretins.

Nobody is asking for fucking bloodbaths every week. It just would be good to see those cell and chamber matches spiced up a liitle.

  8.

Any update to when this is coming to the UK? They said before October didnt they?

    1st October!

It seems weird how they have released no details about the launch of the Network in the UK yet. Nobody knows if it will be an online service like in the US or if it's going to be available through Sky. Either way it's 2 weeks away from the UK launch and nobody seems to know any details about it.

They stopped the blading when they switched to PG. Yes i know they bladed a couple of times while it was PG in 1997 but it seemed to have been banned full stop since the PG switch in September 2008. They stopped the chair shots to the head to reduce the number of concussions.

I almost started blading when I switched to PG. Yorkshire Tea's much better.

Shite jokes aside, it's a damn good job they've stopped chair shots to the head. I'm not sure I'd ever feel comfortable watching that Rock vs Foley street fight again. PG or Attitude Sux or whatever era they're in, no wrestler should take a hit to the head like that in this day and age.

Those chair shots were brutal. When they showed you the aftermath of that match on Beyond The Mat i couldn't believe the size of that gash in Foley's head. It looked nasty. Although i did find it funny when Vince said "That's show business Mick" as he was getting stiched up himself.

  10. I'm really enjoying the Monday Night War series but i still don't know how they're going to fill another 15 episodes with various themes about the story. As it seems they're looking into various characters that helped win the war each week. We know there's going to be episodes featuring Austin, The Rock, Undertaker,Triple H and Vince himself as these were key characters during this time. Or are they just going to fill these episodes up with anyone that was employed during the Attitude Era?

  11.

Exactly. And they still use the same Hi8 cams & no mics they've been using since they started.

Since when has an early 1990's Hi8 camcorder been capable of shooting 16:9 then?

The Kaitlyn RF shoot was recorded in HD as this interview was released on Blu-ray aswell. They have been using an HD cam lately for these shoots. But the sudden pauses for the obvious piss breaks (which they never edit out) and the constant unnecessary zooming in and cam shaking are still a feature of their shoots. Why dont these idiots at RF just leave the damn cam alone once the interview is underway?

It's almost as annoying as "What are your memories of" every 3 minutes.

  12. This PG era is here to stay whether we like it or not.  My only gripe with this family friendly direction of WWE is that i don't think HIAC and Elimination Chamber matches work well under a PG format. It kinda defeats the purpose of how "dangerous" these matches are supposed to be. Every now and then i think Vince should just let these guys blade in these type of matches. Or maybe they could give the HIAC or Extreme Rules PPV's a TV14 rating. Can't see it happen though.

  13. Perhaps they want to leave it a bit so everyone forgets they just heard him talk for about 5 hours on Austin's podcast. RF don't do any editing or anything on their shoot videos, do they?

As far as RF goes i think the only editing they do is hitting the pause on the cam while they take a piss break during the interviews.

  14. RF need to hurry up and release that Easy E shoot. I have a feeling it's going to be a good one. I've always liked hearing Eric's banter. I also don't think he would suck up to Vince and WWE either as i don't think he has any plans to return.

Just read that Bischoff's shoot runs over 5 hours. But they still haven't announced a release date.

  15. I remember when i pre ordered that WWE Unscripted book when it came out which cost £30. I was pretty disappointed to find that the whole thing was just pictures and quotes when it got delivered. It was the last time i bought a WWE book without reading a review.

  16.

That Wrestlemania book looks great. Taken from the WWE website:

    • The history of each WrestleMania, from both sides of the curtain
    • Special tributes to Undertaker's Streak, Mr. WrestleMania, records, stats & more
    • Stories from influential figures, including Vince McMahon, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart & others
    • Behind the scenes photos and anecdotes
    • Artifacts such as tickets, VIP passes, programs, promotional items and other unique surprises
    • Coverage of all the definitive Superstars and celebrities
    • Foreward by "Mr. WrestleMania" Shawn Michaels
    • Exclusive Topps collectible trading card featuring the Undertaker
    • One of five exclusive collectible bookmarks

Well this book would be more welcomed than a WWE Encyclopedia Vol 3 book. Just in time for xmas of course.

  17. Has anyone read the Sex, Lies and Headlocks book about Vince? Sure about 85% of it is total bullshit but still it makes for a good read. A bit like the Daily Star you know it's all bullshit but you still like to read it.
