  1. James Dixon's Titan Sinking is an excellent book, got through it in a few days. Well researched and some stuff that I hadn't heard/read before. I believe there is a 1996 version on the way.

  2. Im obsessed with BBQ Rib Rustlers at the minute. 80 seconds and done. The challenge is eating as soon as.

Perfect toast for me is a nice soft yellow number. Toast lightly, butter heavily and then toast again, cover in scolding hot eggs, beans, tinned breakfast etc

  3. Doing a 6 week catch up of Impacts (yeah, I know....) I recorded on the digibox, its clear the only reason this promotion still exists to me is the constant arse and crotch shots of the likes of Brooke, Taryn and Gail Kim. Transplant these three to GWF and fuck off for good.

I'm going to be fascinated in the ratings war between ROH and TNA on Dest. America now though.

There wont be a ratings war. TNA will probably try and create one. Even when TNA do get higher viewing figures than ROH on Destination America doesnt mean more people are watching it. ROH is available on many other networks/stations.

  4.

The 2005 one with Trips/Batista/Orton/MurderDeathKill/Jericho/Edge with HBK as ref.

If I had to watch one, it might very well be this one. Lots of good action and the HHH/Orton/Batista story running through it is great. Hot crowd too.

If I remember rightly the crowd were insane for this match, doing the countdown in Spanish and just generally being wild for everything. The match is a part of one of the best executed angles in the last 10 + years.

What was the deal with them having a PPV in Puerto Rico? Did they ever return, even for TV?

  5. Yeah like them. It's a set top box and they come with a years subscription and you just hook it up to the Internet. The one my mate has has all the dodgy sports channels you get in pubs for Saturday kick offs.

I think its called an OUYA box. Mate had one was raving about it at first but doesnt use it now as he just downloads stuff and sticks them on a memory stick, dont know why Ill have to ask.

Ive no idea on technology but I believe its similar device to Roku, amazon fire etc just a bit dodgier

  6. I have NowTV, a bit of advice for the subscriptions. Go to ebay! You can find like 3 month entertainment passes etc cheaper than it would be through the nowtv subscription. I mainly buy the sky sports passes, can get em for around £3-£4, pretty handy if theres the odd thing you wanna watch.

Second that. Have bought Sky Sports passes regularly, and you can get codes instantly in most cases.

  7. On Jericho's podcast he spoke about life after wrestling and what he might have done if he had been forced to retire last year. He was on about him and Brie joining the peace corps and fucking off to build straw houses in Haiti or something. I struggle to see him taking a sabbatical from WWE, I think once he's out he's probably done.

All of this talk is jumping the gun anyway, until we know more about his injury. Could be a lot of fuss about nothing much.

Im sure applied and got rejected in 2005 (i think) just before he won the ROH World title, I remember there being talk of him quitting wrestling for good but for whatever reason he didnt get in.

  8. 3/4 through the new Shawn Michaels book. It really isnt worth buying or even reading.

Nothing really new in the book wrestling wise. Few bits where it could get interesting (occasions where his Bible study group would questions things he did on TV like saying damn and the God angle) but the whole thing is skimmed over.

The word Christian is used every 2-3 sentences and an awful lot of references to He and Him. He talks about his wrestling past, but nearly everything is given a biblical meaning. Him being a follower when teaming with Jannetty. His relationships with certain people being part of Gods plan etc.

This sentences sums up the tone of the book.

Being called The Heartbreak Kid, Mr Wrestlemania, and all those other names doesn't even begin to compare to what it feels like to know what the Almighty God who created the universe calls me. His child.

  9. Got the new Shawn Michaels book, Wrestling For My Life as a gift this morning. Its 160 pages including introductions, forewords, a few blank pages etc. Certainly no Bret Hart book!

Reckon I can hammer through this book in a few hours, as long as the God stuff doesnt become overbearing, which from a quick scan looks like there is plenty of.

  10. Anyone know anything about Peter Howard (the UK guy)?  The WWE article says nothing about him wrestling for any indie promotions (unlike some of the other people they hired).  Would be interested to know how he got a tryout if this is the case because, like Linus says, college rugby and regional discus aren't exactly top level athletic achievements that would make WWE officials stand up and take notice

Stuart Tomlinson had no wrestling experience whatsoever. Played in goal for Burton Albion and Crewe and retired with a dodgy knee. He looks like a beast and can obviously still perform to a decent level physically as he passed the initial tests to get into developmental.

I think its the case with this Howard guy, just having any sporting credentials helps, as they probably see guys with any sporting background as people who will adapt to the training, have the right mentality etc.

  11. Random people on my face book adding likes for this con

    The comments are stunning,

    Ashley Kelly

    3 kids college fund

That'd be a great way to share your success!

    Tonny Latter

Would be used for my kids and for fighting the cancer in my lounges

    Mark Frans T

he only reason I am doing this is because I'd rather win the million dollars, and then spend it on people who need it most, not on myself but on the people who truely deserve this money, I'd keep maybe a 100 grand to keep me stable for the long run, but the rest would go out those who need it the most, homeless people, the kids with severe disabilities..

Someone even posted a link showing its fake and they still keep going

I see the Mayweather ones all the time on my timeline

  12. I want those Hall Of Fame ones but if its anything like the current set then they will be Target Exclusives, be looking at £40 for each (Horsemen will be more) which I cant justify.

Hogan, Sting, Neville, Stardust and Blue LOD will be definite purchases for me.

  13. That's good to know, one of my PC's has real trouble with flash. No clue why services still persist with it, the Network particularly.

ROH really need to have a look at their website in general though. I've looked at getting their Ringside membership a couple of times to get the weekly TV earlier but it's just not worth the expense. It costs more than the Network and their back catalogue ia really lacking.

Their Ippv this weekend as well, which isn't even live, is also a whopping $34.95. I know you can probably get away with inflated prices with your hardcores, but when you can get both the Network and New Japan World, and subscribe to the Observer AND also pay for Netflix for month for that price, it's probabaly taking the piss.

I had the Ringside Membership for 3 years but cancelled last year when I got out of the habit of buying every DVD. With my Network and New Japan subs I never need to buy a DVD again. The library on the ROH site is pretty poor, the latest show they have is from January 2014 and there is talk of having some programming on PPV (much like TNA's Unfinished Business), surely that the type of stuff that should be added to their library for paid members.

  14. I hear from the WWEDVD.co.uk people that things were bad before the Network, let alone now.

I think thats also a combination of the quality of product and also that the new company aint that great.

I bought pretty much every release Silver Vision put out including every PPV. I would put an order through, on a whim, about 5pm and Id get the DVDs next morning. The customer service from you guys was 2nd to none. Silver Vision was always the cheapest place to get DVDs from too.

The website was a great place to visit too, you could tell the company was run by wrestling fans, thats why people miss it so much.

  15. How were sales for the Raw best of season 1 and 2 DVDs?

I thought these would have flown of the shelves? Something fans had wanted for a while yet only '93 and '94 sets were released.

How much of an effect do you think The Network would have had on Silver Vision if it were still around today?
