  1. Forgot this was last night and just went and spoiled it on twitter. Oh well. Was Kimbo vs The Black Rooster as bad as Shamrock vs Severn 2, Royce vs Shamrock 2 or Severn vs Kimo? Surely not? Surely? I'll watch it later.

Coker needs to sort out Kimbo vs Bob Sapp.

It's the lowest standard I've ever seen in mainstream MMA.

  2. Saying that, I see no real reason to fix it. It's not as if one particular outcome is more desirable over the other, is it?

Same reason you'd fix a tennis match or a frame of snooker - gambling money.

  3. That shape? Round? His gut was all over his tights. Lots of people in the crowd were very against Grado. A break would do him good. Not a big fan of Renfrew, but anyone but grado is good for now.

Hoping we get no more polo vs 55, it's over done and a towel being thrown in I can only hope leads to a jackie polo turn.

Doesn't seem like drew was ever booked, he wrestled tonight in evolve. Could have used golf club shot from weeks ago as excuse, to not announce until show started was a poor show.

Fuck load of weed was getting smoked through vapers in the crowd, now home and starving!

He has lost weight, but not enough for tights. Has still has no muscle definition. I was right next to entrance barrier, and seen close up that while he's not the size he was, he's still carrying an amount of chub. He kicked off at a guy in the crowd as well at the end.

Drew was clearly saying he was going to be there to save face for icw as he was advertised. No way was he making florida to Scotland in two hours. Fair enough if Evolve pays better, but for those who went to see him, it's a bit shitty. few brit wres guys there I hadn't seen before and impressed, liked the look of Trent seven. Setting up whiplash vs havoc is a good thing too. Dave mastiff was out in the street after with his top off still, so heat clearly got to him too

Agree on the Liam thomson match with the above, matches like that should be short and sharp, not the drawn out one it was.

Not saying you need to be ripped, but his bodies not changed enough to justify it. When crowds have already been turning against him, felt wrong time to make the trunks and music change in one go. Fair put his body through the wringer in the match, with tacks about, I'd have worn a singlet myself!

That's quite a transformation in the last 9-12 months.

  4. I'd imagine Grado won't be back till F&L. You don't get in that shape to look at the lights for Chris Renfrew.

Wolfy is a decent winner, bit of a disappointing ending but I get it. Fingers crossed it means an end to the NAK.

Terrible end to the tag title match but I'll give it a chance. Mark Coffey in at 29 is encouraging but I'm presuming Drew got snowed in.

Thomson vs Carmel was utter shit as expected. Both of them are great. Gimme 15 mins of Carmel vs Kay Lee Ray and 15 mins of Thomson vs anyone rather than that shite.

  5. I was amazed at how good the views were, even from the back of the arena when I went to the bar or the toilet. The ring was raised and 4,000 people may sound a lot but it only translates to maybe 20-25 rows.

I went to my first ICW show in December and I've been to about 9 since, and this was comfortably the best show they've done imo. I'd encourage anyone to watch it.

  6. That'd be a fantastic weekend away incorporating the fight, Dusseldorf and the surrounding area are great, especially if you love football and beer. Unfortunately I'll just be back from another holiday so won't make it.

I don't give Fury much of a chance to be honest, I'm not sure what he does better than Wlad. The size of Fury makes it intriguing though.

I'd have thought Wlad would've tried to face Wilder next rather than risking Povetkin taking the belt from the American. Decent chance he loses a reasonably big money fight there.

  7. Lemiuex vs N'Dam is my fight of the year so far by a distance, Lemiuex won by a stretch with four knockdowns but for twelve rounds both men bit down on their gumshields and walked forward swinging. Incredible heart from N'Dam who looked class even in defeat. Lemiuex vs GGG is right up the top of my list of dream fights now, they could just have it in a phonebox instead of a ring. Lemiuex's left hook is lethal. That division is class now with GGG, Cotto, Lee, Quillin, Eubank, Saunders, N'Dam and soon Canelo. Lemiuex is gorgeous as well, division needed a handsome man with Sergio retiring and Lemiuex's stepped up.

Broner vs Porter was weird, I scored it for Porter but it was much closer than Sky were making out. Porter was just charging in with no skill. If Broner had thrown more punches and shown more lateral movement he'd have taken it. His holding was horrific. I get the impression he's a lazy git in training. Porter is meat and drink for anyone whose top level at that weight imo, he can be countered and if your output is high and you move your head you're on to a winner. Broner will get a few easy wins and then get in with someone like Peterson or Garcia.

Smith vs Ward was an embarrassment, I realise it was Andre Ward but I reckon Smith just wanted to hang on for twelve rounds with no intention of trying to win. Ward looked class but it was against a punchbag.

Some decent stuff on the undercards too. Errol Spence Jr was quality, big fights to come for him, and I liked the look of the big Cuban heavyweight Ortiz.

  8. I searched it out online this morning so I'm part of the problem, but that was even worse than I expected. Personal highlight was Kimbo reaching out his hand to tap for about five seconds then managing to escape. I could almost hear good ol JR screaming over the top of it.
