My daughter went to see McFly when she was 14. While they were waiting to get in, members of the support band (I can't remember who they were) were going round the girls asking if they'd like to come backstage with them after they'd done their set instead of watching McFly. Proper defensive dad moment for me there.
At the end of the night, while McFly were finishing off their encore and I was waiting outside, about a dozen girls came out, removing their T-shirts/jackets/etc. as they went down the stair, and waited outside the stage door in what was basically lingerie.

Couldn't decide whether this should go in Dull Men's Club, or in here, so apologies if the wrong thread. Odeon was my local cinema in London growing up, so this brought back some excellent childhood memories. Might be of interest to a few others.
I grew up going to an ABC, and so got treated to the Pearl & Dean classic. I once went to the Empire (formerly Odeon) in Sutton Coldfield wearing my Pearl & Dean T-shirt. The girl behind the ticket counter panicked thinking I was a rep making a visit that wasn't on their planner, as Empire's advertising was handled by P&D. *Chortle*

Pretty much my only Cinema going experience until I was around 13. Kingston was just as wonderful, with a really unique lobby/foyer and the building still stands today as Pryzm.
Lovely example of an atmospheric type, without it going too gimmicky. Clearly not originally built for Odeon, looks more like a Granada or Paramount style. #nerd.

Tony Clarkin of Magnum.

I was contemplating adding him (and Bob) to the future carking thread, because he's was definitely an early inspiration to me as a teenage guitarist, and I've held his playing in high regard ever since. I saw Magnum live when I was 17, and they were incredible. There's four Magnum albums currently sat on the passenger seat of my car, because I've been having a binge on them lately.

Tron and Cadyshack actress Cindy Morgan died at the end of December
Well, that's gutted me. Along with Phoebe Cates, she was one of the first crushes I had as a youngster. In later years, I discovered that I actually had a chance with her, as she's legally classed as blind, her eyesight is so bad.
Fuck you, Chevy Chase.

What's all this?

I met Mulhern a couple of years ago, when he was doing some filming in Nottingham city centre. He's surprisingly tall.

I find Claudia Winkleman inexplicably annoying, in fact, her presence is usually enough to make me switch off.
I made an exception for her with Traitors, but I'm right with you on this.

Gemma Collins.
There is absolutely zero common ground that we both inhabit, in fact she has several traits that cannot abide, and yet I find her strangely endearing.

Lots of good choices so far, although Statto gets a kick in the bollock for not including George Duke. Only one bollock though, because he rates Bobby Martin.
As Chili mentioned, I do love a bit of Big Country, and there's a clear Adamson influence in the way I play guitar. I actually prefer the piano only version of Ships from No Place Like Home, which shows how good his voice could be with only the simplest of support. On the flip side, his angry voice on songs like Long Way Home is awesome.
Joey Tempest has always been one of my favourites, even before I understood how impressive he is.
One that people probably don't expect from me is Petula Clark. I find her voice very comforting.
Famous for that album cover, not quite so well known for her voice, but Millie Jackson is fantastic. For my money, this live version is better than the original.
One of my all time personal favourites, back from when they just happened to be the support act for when I went to see FM when I was 15, is Al Fritsch from Drive She Said. Just a phenomenal voice, and a bloody good guitarist and keyboard player too. Unashamedly overproduced 80s cheese, but goddam what a singer. His death is one I took pretty hard.
Oh, and he provided the singing voice for Raphael in a terrible 90s made for TV Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Christmas special. Yeah. -
Staple of 1980s light entertainment shows, Mo from the Roly Polys has died.

The one with Bjork in it? Yeah, go on. I fully expect it to be a real quirky barrel of laughs.

I always watch a musical over Christmas. A proper one, usually Singing in the Rain or The Wizard of Oz, something like that.
I do fancy a change this year. What can people recommend?

Just look at the way she grips that pole. Whoar!!!

Loki, this is the second time today you've ended your post with "it's" and then nothing else.
When I read the word "It's" on its own, my brain automatically starts playing the Monty Python theme.

When I saw that photo earlier, as I was scrolling down FB, my first thought was that it was an old photo of Brock as a teenager.

Are you sure she wasn't trolling you? For £40 a month I'd want the premium, premium videos, with Roxanne pegging Mark while she wears his silicone muscle vest.
Nearest I found was this:
QuoteFor £3.49 a month, anyone can become a LadBaby “Turbo” and get access to weekly exclusive content from the Hoyles.
“To us they are famous regardless, they’re always going to be famous, but why they’re not in the famous spotlight? I have no idea,” says Mandy, a 45-year-old LadBaby fan from Suffolk. “I think it’s a question many Turbos have asked.” Despite her fear of needles, Mandy has two LadBaby tattoos: “LadBaby Turbo 4 Life. Living my best life” with the logo and Hoyle’s catchphrase (“Yes mate!”) on her upper arm, and the limited-edition Walkers crisp packet on her wrist. “I like them. I love them. I adore them,” she says of Hoyle and Roxanne.
Although that second paragraph deserves it's own Corkhill.

I'm torn. Do I pig out and have a massive Chinese, or do I go for my all time comfort food of corned beef hash?
If I was heading to the Chinese, then I'd start with satay chicken skewers, and then hit the chicken in lemon sauce, char sui pork with cashew nuts, duck in hoisin sauce and crispy chilli beef, using a cross of egg fried rice to prevent the sauces from touching each other (this is what I actually do in Cosmo, Red Hot Buffet, etc.).
To finish, I'd have a nice home made lemon meringue pie (I was never keen on the Sara Lee one, although I am considering driving to a 24 hour Asda to get a Sara Lee chocolate gateaux and re-enacting that photo above).
I'd pretty much be Mr Creosote by that point.

I spend an unholy amount of time on Google Earth and/or Maps, mainly wandering the backstreets of seaside towns. I have no idea what it is I'm actually looking for. I recently pinpointed where the steps to a subway in Blackpool used to be.
My nerdy go-to YouTube channel is Knight Rider Historians, where I watch with great excitement as a man sands some white paint off an old trailer, to reveal different white paint underneath.

Putting the FUN in funerals!
in Off Topic
Posted
I think I've been to more funerals for people that died young from disease or freak accident than died of old age. That's a really depressing statistic,
