  1. I think "coloured" has something to do with an implication that these people were coloured, rather than are coloured, as a means of indicating to others their lower status. It's one of those that when you ask people why it's offensive, they go all tight lipped and just fluster at you.

  2. I will say one thing, I dont care what you all say, it didnt put British Wrestling in a bad light, why? Because it wasnt about british wrestling it was about backyard wrestling!

But it DID emphasise thae fact that it was the UK BYW scene, rather than the BYW culture as a whole. Dropkixx (a "legitimate" UK promotion) has already had some flack in this thread for - what was essentially - encouraging some BYWers to mix it up in the ring. A lot of people - especially those looking for an excuse to criticise - are going to view this programme with blinkered eyes. "Oh look, even the so-called schools are happy for them to slam each other about without training". Knockers of wrestling are gonna knock it whatever. This has just given them some ammo.Johnnyboy, you're a legend dude!
  3. Pretty shocked that there was no 'moralistic tone' added to the end of the show.

That was surprising. The end speech by Burch about how BYW has a great community and how it's amazing that nationwide events can be organised by 16 year olds does make some sense. The only thing in the whole programme that was remotely "don't try this at homish" was it mentioning that BYWers are seeking pro training, but as a whole it still promoted BYW - particularly the hardcore stuff (comments about how NLW had to resort to the "Cage of Death" to get acceptance, and how the injuries "only hurt for a minute") - as a good thing.
  4. Well I think we can say goodbye to getting British wrestling back on TV in the next 10 years. I hope the 'wrestlers' who participated in this documentry are proud of themselves.

Damn good point actually. Maybe some of the "proper" feds in England (including one that did a bit of broadcast quality filming last Friday) should contact C4 and demand that they cover the "legitimate" UK scene so as not to have all UK wrestlers tarred with the same brush.Bloody 'ell! The Nature Boy's on now! They're certainly showing how innovative they are.
  5. a bunch of brain-dead little twats trying to act like real professional wrestlers.

Shit, I must have missed that bit. All I saw were light tube shots a plenty and flabby teenagers saying how great it is to be called a legend.Who's this Joanne that Krieger's on aboot? The Geordie ginger failing to smash a guitar over La Parka (I wonder if that was the real one) in front of 5 people?
  6. I'll piss about in my garden with mates and next doors kids, but that's all we do. Lame snapmares, forearm smashes and elbow drops. If I wanted to have some sugar high 16 year old drop me on my head I'd join a school where there's insurance and safety measures. Wrestling in your backyard for a bit of fun on a summers day is one thing, having someone smash a light tube over your back to get a cheer from a "crowd" of 8 people is another.

  7. Yeah, nice plug for Dropkixx. It's a bit of a bizarre show so far. It's still making out that BYW's cool, and they'll probably go for the moralistic bit in the last segment which'll be too late as the young impressionable light tube buying teenies will already be sold on it.On "Burch's" last BYW match, why was the commentary being done by Micheal Jackson from Bo' Selecta?Jeez, there are easier ways to be called an internet legend, y'know. Shit, if I can do it then any body can.

  8. Ok, it sucks...

but at least you're getting into it, and let's face it, my Ulf's Dustbin Lid is hardly a work of art, and the gag's lost on the younger posters.I have to say that I love my Banocref one though. I've spent all day trying to think of one for him. I need to get another account at mysigs now 'cos I've filled it.
