  1. Been getting into the Hong Kong martial arts movies recently, man i wish i watched some of these as a kid id have been mesmerised, here is what ive watched so far -

Tiger Cage 1 & 2 - Loved part one great action flick, and some great fight scenes. Same with number 2, was a bit less serious as part one but nevertheless had terrific action & Donnie Yen was amazing in it

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky - Absolutely batshit crazy, over the top gore & some pretty dam good fight scenes. Another hit for me

Police Story - Jackie Chan territory now, was for me a real good movie, good slapstick humour but, then the final 15mins, hit. Holy Shit! incredible, how no one died doing the stunts i will never know, ive seen nothing like it before, one of the best endings to a movie ive seen.

The Millionaires Express - didn't like this one, no action hardly till the end and bored me too tears, until a pretty good final melee

Chocolate - a more recent film Thai, 2008. Unreal i loved this. JeeJa Yanin is incredible, shame she hasnt been in more movies, she should be a superstar. The fight scenes were jaw dropping, some of the best have seen. A must watch for martial arts fans

Also watched Raid 1&2 but, you will all know what am likely to say on them. Classics!

so a few questions do you guys watch with the subtitles and have the forgein language on for these HK movies or dubbed english versions?  and what other HK films or martial arts films would you recommend?

  2. Bo Nickal, he's been getting a lot of hype hasn't he, didnt he have a fight in Masvidals promotion recently?

caught seika izawa's fight from rizin last weekend last night. She been getting a tonne of hype, fighting in the atmoweight division, she looks the real deal like

  3. couldnt find a thread for it but, this weeks Dana Whites Contender Series was fantastic. Every fight would be a FOTN on any other show, great knockouts just a brilliant show

  4. yeah i think DWCS has all but finished TUF off, it's a far easier route to get in UFC than going through the hassle of having too move in the TUF house for how ever many weeks it is and then also having the 3 fights

  5. first time in years since ive watched a full season of TUF. Was nothing flash, orite for a bit of light entertainment i suppose. I thought the male talent was scrapping the barrel in terms of quality the women fights were much better. I hope juliana miller goes onto win, she is a proper little scrapper who loves a tear up with great jiu jitsu i thought & loves the trash talk, she will be in some fun fights in the UFC for sure. Nunes has to be one of the worst coaches in the shows history as well

  6. Went to UFC London at weekend had a hell of a time. We set off 6am Friday morning from Darlington in the North East, so we could get down for the Joanna Jędrzejczyk meet and greet which was 12am. Only took us about 5hrs with a stop off which i was well happy with. The UFC put on a fair few events over the weekend, first up was the Joanna Jędrzejczyk meet and greet at Milroy's in Soho. The que wasn't very long which i was surprised about, within 20mins were were getting our photos with Joanna. What an absolutely nice person Joanna is, very pleasant and chatty i got all star struck and couldn't talk haha but, she engaged with everyone and had time for everyone. It was like she was just getting just as much enjoyment out of the meet and greet as us fans did, every fan also received a signed UFC photo from her as well. Joanna was also nice enough to sign a glove for me as well.

Next we headed to the 02 for the 280 presser and weigh in's, really enjoyed these. The atmosphere for the weigh in was great, the presser was good, thought Charles Oliveira played it safe with the answers to his questions though. After weigh in ended, it was back on the tube to Leon Edwards meet and greet round near Liverpool station. I was shocked at how small, Edwards was, i think Usman will physically dominate him in their title match next month. I hope it doesn't happen, i just feel Usman will be too big and strong for him.

    No photo description available.

so, onto the Saturday and it was back on the tube for 12am meet and greet with Michael Chandler. Again i was shocked at how small he was, i was taller than him and am a small ass ha ha. Really nice guy, he also signed a glove for me.

We headed over too the 02 for about 4ish, grabbed a five guys before entering the venue. Even the fight pass prelims there was loads of people in, come the actual prelims starting id say the place was 65 to 70% full and the atmosphere was building up nicely. Some of the fights were a bit boring but man the atmosphere in that 02 was wild, have seen Hatton and Warrington fight in them notoriously loud rowdy Manchester and Leeds crowds. But, those atmosphere's don't come close too the one Saturday night i experienced, it was incredible, especially when Paddy won. Most have been about 1000 beers thrown the place erupted.  Gutted for Tommy Aspinall like, i worry with a knee injury he may loose that yard of speed that would give these heavyweights fits but, hopefully he comes back 100% and with the speed.

A few friends messaged me saying they were gutted for me with the way the main event ended, to be fair it didnt spoil what was an incredible weekend. If you ever get the chance to go to the UFC then travel down the day before, do all the events they put on and make a weekend off it, was also brilliant to chat to over fans as well.

Few things i picked up over the weekend, signed photos from Leon Edwards, Joanna Jędrzejczyk & Michael Chandler along with a glove signed by Joanna & another by Chandler. Got an old school UFC logo tee as well. Also got the UFC London event poster which was signed by all the fighters on the show.

  7. what a shit storm getting tickets for ufc london was, got 4 in the morning, confirmation email etc but, payment hadnt been took. Then a friend messaged saying if payment aint been took you aint got tickets and they will have been rereleased. So panicking i got another 4, same thing happened this time though 10 mins later i spotted the same tickets again for sale, what a joke. You had to pay via paypal apparently instead of card due to error on axs system, but getting the paypal option up was another story. Managed to actually pay for 4 but at a higher price of £192.50 each but, at least i know i have them. Imagine those poor fuckers who didnt know whats gone on and thought or still think they have tickets and booked accommodation etc, as i havent had a email to say the 8 tickets i know i havent got have been cancelled

what a stressful day, apparently todays presale been but back too, tomorrow as a result

  8. Ghostbusters Afterlife - loved this, i thought it was brilliant. The right enough fan service everything just hit for me.  Mckenna Grace was a terrific bit of casting to play Egon's granddaughter i thought

Godzilla vs Kong - watched this in 4k with my surround sound system with the Dolby Atmos audio and it looked and sounded incredible. Preety good film as well just what you would expect from a summer blockbuster

Initiation - watched this on amazon prime, there's a good slasher film in there somewhere but it was so dam slow, nothing happens for the first 30mins. Some brutal kills mind but, yeah way to slow the 90mins run time seemed like 2hrs

Gifted - Really good drama this starring chris evans and a top performance from Mckenna Grace.

Upgrade - this was awesome, loved it. Nice and violent and gave me proper Robocop and Terminator vibes. Apparently there will be a sequel but in the form of a tv series

The Paper Tigers (sky cinema) - i was looking forward to this especially going by the reviews on Letterboxd but, i was bitterly disappointed. It tried to be Cobra Kai too much, the jokes fell flat and it was boring and dragged too much for me. The fight scenes were nicely choreographed but that's all the film had going for it
