  1. It was a brilliant show - not sure why it wasn't better attended given that it was free?? I'd say around 400 - 500 tops. Revolution Pro can draw nearly double those numbers paid in that building on a regular basis. I wonder if they deliberately didn't advertise it well as they didn't want the results to be talked about too much before it airs?

When something is free, you're more likely to sack it off if you change your mind because you're not financially invested into it.

Personally, I had a good time there - it was essentially a British wrestling show in a TNA ring with a sneering Al Snow watching from the stage.  I also caught Gail Kim and Samoa Joe marking out a few times, which was amusing to see.

  2. Steph's "I've got you people and you're yes's" is one of my favourite lines ever in wrestling, I know she gets all the plaudits (and she certainly deserves them) but Brie has improved no end since she started working with her, Summerslam is looking good

Brie may have improved but she's still horribly wooden on the mic.  It just shows how awesome Stephanie is that she has dragged Brie into one of the hottest storylines in WWE at the moment.  Brie will probably win the match at SummerSlam, but anyone with eyes will know that the real hero of all of this was Stephanie.  She's also the best promo in WWE at the moment too.

  3. Who if anyone will WWE want to pick up from TNA? Bobby Roode maybe? Angle? Joe? Magnus?

Honestly, I can't see them picking up any of them - they've got the stink of TNA attached to them, and WWE have hardly been falling over themselves to sign people like AJ Styles who may actually shift some tickets.

Besides, WWE has just signed KENTA and Fergal Devitt.  Who would swap them for anyone who's in TNA?

  4. I'll definitely be giving these tapings a watch. Its a different change of pace from what TNA is usually putting out. And it'll be cool to see Rhino back. Stunned to hear the Hardys vs the Dudleys is the first time they've worked since 2001. That's amazing to me.

In a straight tag match possibly, but they were part of the four-congers elimination Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania X8 in 2002.

  5. TNA just announced at their press conference in New York City that Bound For Glory will be held Sunday October 12 in Tokyo, Japan at Korakuen Hall.

That's a capacity of 2,000, though possibly less when you factor in staging and stuff. It's not that ambitious, which is probably a good thing. Better than trying to fill Sumo Hall and getting an embarrassingly small number.

  6. They might as well go back to six sides. The only people who really care are the ones asking for it back, so might as well give them what they want. I don't think I ever heard a "we want four sides" chant

I remember some TNA wrestler - possibly AJ Styles - saying that they hated when the six sided ring was taken away and replaced with a regular one, but was more accommodating of it because it was much more comfortable to bump on. Apparently the hexagon setup doesn't really have much give, which must suck when you consider people were falling off cages and Ultimate X wires.

EDIT: In fact, Austin Aries tweeted a similar thing earlier:

So the people who don't wrestle are letting people who don't wrestle decide what I have to wrestle in? Great idea. My body, my vote. What's wrong with wrestling? Letting people who've never done it, and never put their bodies on the line, run the show. For those curious, I find [six sided rings] to be far less forgiving on the body and harder to maneuver around, especially on the top rope.

    Who is this?

    Faces of meth.

Just as a frame of reference, this was a screen grab from an interview at the end of their first trip to SHIMMER. Paige had overdone the sun and was horrendously sunburned and Saraya later admitted in an interview with us that she was around 8 stone at the time and was battling a "demon" which she said wasn't drugs or alcohol, but didn't elaborate - and the trip made her revaluate her life and make some changes.

They had both wrestled four times in two days and I believe that this image would have been from an interview which took place just after their fourth match.

  8. But the real 'wow, really?' moment was the treatment of K-Krush/R-Truth. It was already feeling a bit racist with the way the NASCAR drivers were talking to him, but then Brian Christopher comes out and actually talks about "if 'your kind' want to fight my kind". Really surprised by that.

The hypocrisy of that segment was amazing. Hermie Sadler and the other guy insulted K-Krush for the way he dressed, and then Brian Christopher comes out dressed in similar clothes and they couldn't get enough of him.
