  1. If Zayn needs time off to rehab before getting back to the main roster then WWE needs to do some video packages about who he is, his accomplishments in NXT and a hearty endorsement from John Cena. Sami could be massive, given the opportunity.

  2.

Not only is the tug of war thing lame in itself, but has there ever been a Wrestlemania main event where the participants did not touch each other once?

Michaels vs Hart at Mania 12?

I don't believe that Steve Austin and The Rock had any physical contact in the build up to WrestleMania XV.

That was nothing less than assault. How could anyone trust her in the ring afterthat?

She was stripped of the promotion's top title and suspended indefinitely. The owner, promotional liason and booker also voluntarily took pay cuts of 30% for three months. Quite right top as they created an atmosphere which allowed Yoshiko to think she could get away from that sort of behaviour and could have dropped that match at any time but didn't.

As for Act Yasukawa, she suffered an assload of facial injuries. If that happened over here she could probably have Yoshiko facing charges of GBH but she probably won't make any complaints due to it !waning that she would have to ostensibly admit in a court that wrestling is a work, and Act loves wrestling to a fault, which may be part of the problem.

Good to see they did something, but it was a little too late.

Do you know the story behind it?

About the history between the pair? No. I'm not sure if it's been made public.

have they (WWE) ever done a title switch by referee stoppage before? I'm racking my brain trying to think of one and am coming up empty. i suppose it would act the same way as a submission

Would the Bob Backlund/Iron Sheik title change count?

His manager threw in the towel though didn't he? Which is technically a method of submission with the manager acting on the wrestlers behalf. I was trying to think of a ref making the desicion to end the contest and awarding the championship to the challenger. Coyne mention the HBK/Bulldog Euro title switch, and is probably the only one (I wouldn't say Montreal was as it was played as if Bret submitted)

While it wasn't for a title, Bret Hart v Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 had a stoppage ending.

  6. NXT is such an easy watch. I get a good laugh out of watching Enzo, Big Cass and Carmella's gimmick, the women all have defined characters (though Becky Lynch still feels a bit undeveloped and I worry that Charlotte is miscast as a babyface), Itami v Balor was brilliant (plus that Finn dropkick was utter buys) and the hype for Zayn v Owens was sublime.

The only thing which I didn't care for was Alex Riley rifling questions at Adrian Neville and him having to find more creative ways to provide diplomatic answers.

  7. I am in a near-two year relationship which started on PoF.

I had been sending creative and original messages to women, looking at their write ups and tailoring what I said so it soaked potential talking points. Some success, mostly being ignored because women get bombarded with crap on there every day.

As it turns out, my girlfriend got in touch with me first. That was 6 years ago and we went out for 2 months before she dumped me. We kept in touch and things started up again in March 2013 after we had both been in toxic relationships. We're now doing really well, moved in together and are talking heavily about the future.

Dating sites can work but free ones are a frustrating minefield. After all, you get what you pay for.

  8. I didn't really have an issue with Charlotte losing, it wasn't like she was jobbed out in 1 minute, she was on top for a decent part of the match and looked like she was going to win with the Figure Four before getting rolled up for the loss.

It makes some sense to think a veteran would in that instance have the instinct to go for the quick roll up to escape the move and it was a bit of nievity on the Rookies part getting caught out maybe showboating a little to much channeling her inner Flair.

My issue that Charlotte should have won - and if that can't happen because she's wrestling Natalya then she should have been booked against someone she can roll over, look great and hype the NXT show all at the same time.  Emma would have been perfect cannon fodder.

The best part of the NoD was seeing so many nerdy white guys raising their fists in the air, I caught it again recently when watching The Rocks monday night war episode and had to laugh.

(I'd so do the same tbf..)

On that note, is that where The Rock's 'fist in the air on the turnbuckle' thing originated? Obviously his theme is a far-removed version of a Nation theme but I'm wondering how much of his current/most popular repertoire stems from that.
No. Rock started standing on the ropes and doing a big inhale in 1998, but when he was WWF Champion in 2000 he would hold the belt in the air. When he lost it he carried on raising his arm.
  10. Stew was mentioned in this week's Wrestling Observer too.

David Stewart Allen, 37, co-founder of the Ringbelles web site, passed away on 10/12. He was a commentator for U.K. promotions including Dragon Gate U.K. and Bellatrix (an all-women’s group that Saraya Knight is the big star with). He was well known in the U.K. scene and Paige and Rockstar Spud tweeted about his death. He had announced a few days before his death that he was suffering from a cancer-related issue. His last Tweet regarded Kris Travis, writing to him, “Shit man, I stand on the verge of a probable lymphoma diagnosis and may well end up contemplating the same as you. Good luck.” Originally from Ballymena, Northern Ireland, he had moved to London to study law and became a big fan of women’s wrestling in particular from seeing tapes of Beth Phoenix from OVW, and then following Shimmer. He was also a subscriber here.
  11. I've been in a state of numbness for the last four hours and it's slowly turning into real sadness.  I know the tears are on their way.

I spent the Saturday and yesterday in Nottingham and St Neots at the Southside shows, and he was meant to be there too but wasn't in good health.  I only spoke to him yesterday afternoon and while he still wasn't well he sounded like he was getting better.  That's why this has an even bigger sting to it.

I don't know what to do but feel like I should be doing something.  I'm going to miss him.

  12. That crowd is barely two people deep. Embarrassing. What were the sound levels like? As live it must have been like a sermon—able to hear someone at the other side of the room coughing.

It sounded awful on this week's Impact. You could make out individual voices.

I believe this was the same weekend that Chikara ran their three-day King Of Trios weekend, and that was doing three times the numbers at some points.

  13. I watched Bret Hart v Diesel from the 1994 King of the Ring tonight. I really enjoyed it. No convoluted high spots or over-elaborate sequences and a great story to boot about whether Bret could deal with a 7 foot guy, avoid the Jackknife and find someone to nullify the influence of Shawn Michaels. Without trying to sound old fashioned, I liked wrestling the way it was back then.
