  1. I'm struggling with the Ballance pick also and I'm a Yorkshireman!

Bar a great century this week he's not had what you would call an amazing season just above average if anything.

I suppose he's got experience at international level and I'm sure that must be a big factor for the selectors.

Saying that his test average is still very good and he can't do any worse than Compton tbf.

  2. Apparently there is a new book out featuring stories from when pro athletes, including some well known wrestlers, were bouncers.

    www.whenwewerebouncers.com

Yep, Paul Lazenby was on the Austin podcast promoting it a while ago, they became friends on a film set (Paul was a stunt double for Steve).

I have the book but haven't got round to reading it yet, my brother said it was filled with lots of fun stories.

Edge, Lance Storm, DDP and Samoa Joe are the pro wrestler's that feature, a fair few names from the MMA world also contribute.

  3. This looks so good. I thought the days of great shoot interviews were dead since everyone is so job scared or has no back bone, but this looks hilarious.

Looks amazing, can't wait to watch this shoot.

  4.

Isn't it probably going to be shenanigans leading to a rematch at Summerslam?

Or it could be just WWE trying to get done as Summerslam will be post brand split.

Yeah, I feel the main reason they aren't holding off till Summerslam is due to the brand split. I don't see Roman, Seth and Dean all being on the same show.

  5. It's only 2 episodes in but comedian & Progess owner Jim Smallman has started a podcast 'Tuesday Night Jaw' where he & guests discuss the weeks events. It's on Scroobius Pip's network & Pip features on the first episode. I really enjoyed it but I might be a little biased as I'm a fan of Jim's stuff anyway.

Agreed Mike, it's very good. I also liked listening to Scroobius when he interviewed Jim earlier this year.

Big Pip fan here and quickly becoming a fan of Jim and TNJ.

  6. Had a few quid on Martin to win.

It means AJ will KO him in the first round!

It's a tough one to call, I just have a feeling Martin will be a difficult opponent and the odds on him to pull off a shock are tempting.

  7. I'm agreeing with Rick, I think a brand split is coming.

    Loved the Enzo/Big Cass debut.

Raw needs a strong commentary team, love or hate JR, he made matches/feuds mean so much more. I guess Vince and Co have to take some of the blame if not most of it because they control the output but it's just woeful.

JBL grates and Saxton offers nothing.

If a brand split happens I'm on team Smackdown purely due to the announce team.

  8. Watched some of the Edge and Christian show this morning and really enjoyed it.

It's hit and miss but it's got enough funny moments to pull you through 20/30 mins. Edge and Christian work so well together and come across so likeable it just works.

Echo what Rick said with some of the comments/jokes but the fact they are allowed the freedom to be a little bold and risky makes it much better than if it was much more PG.

  9. Only watched the opening segment so far but WOW!

24 hours ago the road to Wrestlemania seemed pretty dull and dire but with just one Raw things have picked up so much. I just hope Shane somehow wins and sticks around for awhile.

I live in hope that his match with Taker will be pretty good. Shane loves throwing himself about and Taker will be determined to put on a decent show.

  10. I could have swore that back in 2013 or 2014 that Barrett said in an interview that he reckoned he has about 2-3 years left in the WWE before retiring from wrestling so he can get out in time before injuries etc. started to take its long term toll on him.

Perhaps he's called it a day then.

Tbf if he can go off and do something else and earn decent money, why not?

He's only 35. I wish more wrestlers would get out of the business while still young and healthy.

  11. Really enjoyed the podcast. I'm not shocked, Show always comes across well in interviews and seems a decent and at times a funny guy.

Austin pretty much started with telling him everyone wants him to retire! Lol. He said it in a light hearted way and Big Show handled it well tbf.

So much more could have been done with this guy, he was booked awfully in his fist year with the company and at times it just got worse.
