  1. That's a thought I've had whilst reading the book. The clip used only needed 6lbs of pressure, such as lifting your arms above your head, to release it. So to know this, and still use it to suspend a 230lb guy 70ft above an arena is surely criminal. And the fact that the guy who designed the rigging was by all accounts not even a senior guy but a helper if you will. So he even lied about his credentials and was proven to be inexperienced with the rigging needed for the stunt to be done safely. Surely HE should have had some jail time. Wouldn't have brought Owen back, but at least would have shown that he was at least culpable in Owens death.

  2. Today marks the 14th anniversary of the death of Owen Hart. I'm just reading his widow's book, Broken Harts, and it certainly paints a painful figure of not only a man killed in a negligent stunt, but a whole family of money/fame hungry nutters all out for their slice of the pie. Obviously we all know the stories of the Hart family and how mental a lot of them were, but to read just how desperate some of them were to take Vince's side so they could ask for jobs is breathtaking. Their baby brother died in a tragic stunt, and instead of wanting justice, they wanted employment through Vince's guilt.

Think I shall go and watch the Hart And Soul DVD and relive some of his matches.

  3. I had to get my rabbit put to sleep a few weeks ago.Whilst i was away offshore she had gotten a parasite under her skin, and she literally just shrunk. My fiancee noticed she stopped eating the day before i came home, and when i checked her, her legs were basically paralysed. She could barely crawl to her bowl. So i piled some food up right in front of her and hand fed her( it was late at night) and first thing in morning the vet put her to sleep. Was fucking heartbreaking. Had her for about 5 years and she got out often to run about. I held her while she died, and not ashamed to admit i had a good bubble about it.....She is buried in my garden with 2 ornamental rabbits on top for company....

Looking to get a Horsefield Tortoise soon....

Those Cats look great BTW...Cracking pets..

  4. Has anyone in wrestling ever had such a great tune but been utterly fucking shite as Jack Swagger? The opening drumbeat and trumpet is majestic, then this lanky, heat draining moron wanders out with his Uncle in a fishing vest. I like Zeb, but fuck me is swagger more bland than bland.

  5. Anyone purchased the new version of Iron Maiden's "Maiden England" yet?

I've just finished watching it and I'd forgotten how good it was.

Aye, I got it from Amazon on tuesday. Cracking dvd, love the style of camerawork too...gives it a nice raw feel. Only thing i was slightly disappointed about was the History...Part 3 only being 40 mins long....Would have been better to have a longer doc, rather than having to wait for another dvd....with having just about all the back catalogue of dvd's and cd's there is very little new material out there for me to buy...Probably still will though!

  6. HASHTAGS!!! Pictures of people self-harming with " like if you want it to stop.....ignore if you want it to happen to you" ..... Same with pics of dying babies with a similar quote. LadBible pics....people requesting I help them with games.....fuck right off.

  7. Me and my brother were discussing possible ways for The Undertaker to do a Wrestlemania tribute to Paul Bearer. What if, Punk hits the GTS or a monster chairshot and is about to go for the cover, only for the lights to go out. A cry of "Ohhhhhh Yessssss" comes over the P.A system, and when the lights come on there is an urn sitting it the ring. Taker then sits up, hits the Tombstone and goes 21-0. Cue lots of crazy fans, a nice little tribute and he can leave after having done his bow/kneeling hand raise pose, with the urn in the middle of the ring. Classy and hints at the previous relationship of the 2 guys.

  8. Dunno if this is the right thread, or if anyone has seen the show, but i just watched TNA Backstage Pass...and at exactly 21 mins there is a shot of the crowd in Glasgow, and everyones favourite Barclaycard-flashin, Mars Bar Chompin, Hilton-Hotel Stayin TommyBoi was right at the front row...looking miserable as sin :)

With his missus in a bright pink tshirt in front of him...wonder if he told her to move when the wrestlers came down the aisle so he could high-five them?!

  9. I don't blame Chavo for ripping off Eddy's moves - it's probably the only way he'll ever be over nowadays. It's actually surprising just how schizophrenic the crowd seem to be, booing him for most of his match, but then suddenly popping when he stands on the top turnbuckle pointing to the sky.

I know what you mean, that's what I was saying about him using Eddies memory and cheap pops rather than being over on his own merit. He is capable in-ring, just has absolutely no charisma of his own. Must be hard living in the huge shadow of a much better and much loved family member, whilst still trying to get over on your own.

  10. Just caught up with this weeks episode. Love A Double and Roode winning the tag titles. Chavo has to be the most bland wrestler around though. Worse than Wade Barrett. His insistence on using the 3 Amigos is embarrassing. He only gets a pop because it reminds them of Eddie, not because they like the move. Hopefully they will use him less till he buggers off and disappears.

Agree with the comments of Aces and Eights being more convincing in a bigger arena. It helps that the people there are paying fans too and not just regulars/curious tourists.

  11. Just been looking through a WWE Memes page on Facebook. They put up that photo of Eddie G and Benoit from Mania XX with Benoit removed. And you should see some of the comments. "It was obvious that Benoit was set up, he wasn't the killer"....." Why is Benoit treated so bad? Hitler killed millions and he is still spoken about..."..." His wife was a slut and his kid was a spaz, what was he meant to do?".... Seriously. What the hell goes through the minds of these morons??? Frightening to think these people are actually out in the real world communicating with sane people 😳

  12. Just had another look at the title history page for the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight title in Japan. It's a wacky promotion and the title is under 24/7 rules, with previous champs including a schoolgirl, a guy who won it in an eBay auction and a memorable series of quick title changes that saw the championship won by a desk, then a plate, then some rice, then some curry sauce, then a pork chop, each reign lasting three seconds.

Only the three non-traditional champs during 2012 it seems, namely a beer, a ringside mat on a show run by the womens IceRibbon group, and a Bolivian boy while the reigning champ was on holiday.

That sounds absolutely insane!! I would love to be there when they decide who/what is winning the belt next....i know the Japanese can be a little out there when it comes to entertainment, but this shit is beyond mental, even for them....gonna have to track some of it down

  13. The term 'best' is surely subjective though. To suggest that whatever/whoever sells the most records, pulls the most fans etc is 'the best' is down to personal preference. I am a huge Iron Maiden fan, and having seen them live many times and having DVD etc, I believe they are the best band/ music act in the world....however it's possible that other bands like one Direction, Adele etc sold more records last/this year. Does that make them ' the best' compared to Maiden? Or that people prefer that style of music?

I enjoy watching both Hogan-Andre and Savage-Steamboat. I think the IC title match was the best match on the card, but agree that it was the main event that created the most interest for the show. It just was t necessarily the 'best' match.
