  1. He said in his newest book that Vince was concerned that his gimmick and catchphrases would make him a face on his return, so they decided if he didn't speak the crowd would be pissed with him and boo him.

The spooky, not-related-to-him-at-all videos were merely to throw folk off the scent of his return.

  2. I agree with Show Off....all wrestlers are carny salesmen at the end of the day. Some can carry their confidence in an unassuming way, like Daniel Bryan or Sami Zayn, others batter you over the head with it, which Jericho tends to do.

Saying that though, sure his actually drawing power/standing in the business may not be as big as guys like The Rock or Steve Austin, but for a time he was promoted as being up there with them, so I guess that validates his opinions that he should be mentioned in the same way. Whether he actually deserves to be is another debate, but I guess with the fact that he was picked by Vince, at a time before the old guy appeared to be going senile, to be THE MAN, in terms of title holding position, would again give him a fair reason to feel he is up there with the all time greats.

I like his 1st and 3rd books, his 2nd was a bit heavy on Fozzy stuff which I don't mind, but I'm interested in Jericho the Wrestler....I enjoy his podcast too as he clearly has passion and I find his talking to be engaging and enjoyable to listen to.

A lot of these guys seem to get caught out with the Internet nowadays, it seems like everyone has an opinion on everything, and when that opinion is different from others it gets shit on. But let's face it, the guys is a multimillionaire so he really shouldn't give a shit what some "nameless, faceless" ( see what I did there?!?) posters on the net say about him.

  3. Just been watching Tuesday In Texas....the whole Jake Roberts/Macho Man story is phenomenal. From the wedding reception angle right up to the ending with the 3 DDT's ( my all-time favourite finisher) to his slapping Liz in the face and his promo afterwards, Jake was at his greatest here. Savage played his part brilliantly too. The heat for everything they did was incredible. Two amazing workers who drew you in to everything they did. Shame I'm so jaded as an adult now as I don't think anything nowadays has come close to the genuine feel of these performances.

  4. Has anyone purchased anything from squaredcircle.com? They have some good looking t shirts on there, but unsure of the quality etc.

I ordered the grey Parts Unknown tshirt a few months ago. Great quality, no fading on the image, and a hard wearing tshirt too. Not a cheap, thin material. And a good fit too. I get XL, and they are nicely fitted. Not like a tent but not skin tight either. Well worth the money IMO.

  5. Yeah Wyatt, HHH slagging off Goldberg was interesting. I always remember him saying to Greg " if you do that in the ring, I'd tag you for real"....had to explain that one to my missus. It's fun looking back and seeing all the guys and remembering that Tazz was a total bellend to Josh, yet here they are 13 years later back together in TNA. As well as having worked SmackDown together years back too.

And Doctor Who's Next....I signed up using my visa debit. So it can be done. Got my confirmation email straight away too.

  6. Same with me. Got an email saying my payment is due on 28th of the month. Been watching the first season of Tough Enough. Just had a quick flick through it, but by god there's a lot of stuff for me to get stuck into! Lots of older stuff for me to revisit, and new stuff like Total Divas/Legends House etc. Just a shame there is no wifi at my work as it would be ideal there too ( I work offshore).

  7. Just got this now! Tremendous. Using it on my iPad and the pic is crystal clear.

Quick question. Where do I find the app on the PS store? Had a look but couldn't figure where to get it. Handy for watching the pics.

  8. Damn, that was pathetic. Between the 20 min weekly ramble to start the show, Reigns having to be Vin Diesel in The Pacifier, to the cringey Macho Man Impressions....fucking hell. Oh and Cena took a German suplex only to get up before Lesnar could immediately nail Rollins with one, and showed no signs of pain. I'm not one of those Cena-haters, but is it too much to ask for even a little selling? BROCK could have posed for a few moments only for Cena to then get him by surprise. Not within 3 seconds. Didn't realise Rollins was so tall either, maybe it was the angle backstage, but he and BROCK looked the same height.

Apart from that we got Uso/Miz part 3,417....Bellas performing to no response, Kane again attacking Bryan( yawn).... As Cole said when Kane's music hit " Oh No!" My thoughts exactly, though I'm sure for different reasons.

Only bit I really enjoyed was Ambrose. His delivery and aloofness was enjoyable. But I've been listening to his TIJ podcast so I'm into his gimmick more anyway.

  9. The end brawl was terrible. I try to give Cena some slack but his punching was pathetic. There were a few of them thrown so badly he missed by about 6 inches. His shots to Harper's head were hitting an invisible dwarf on his shoulder. And then Big Slow lumbered in and headbutted the air in front of Ryback who had to sell it. I know these guys do this every night, but when it's on TV can't they be a bit more tight? And the spot calling was ridiculous too. J&J Security could clearly be heard asking Cena if he was ok just before he went through the table, then you heard them counting to 3 before the powerbomb. Just sloppy.

  10. For me, the biggest thing that pisses me off is when two guys are fighting on the ropes and one falls backwards and either lands PERFECTLY positioned for a splash/elbow etc....or he lies there shuffling around till he is in position...surely the guy up top could adapt his jump slightly if his opponent isnt dead on where he wants him.....

  11. Just watching Bound For Glory...Taz keeps bringing up the fact they are in a studio doing commentary...why would he, or be allowed to acknowledge this?!! And someone did a snap suplex, and he said " Shades of the late, great Dynamite Kid"....even though he isn't dead! Fucking clueless!!

Would be great if TNA could survive, they have a few decent guys there. WWE needs an alternative, but TNA dying with a whimper is sad to see.

  12. I think having a couple of squash matches would freshen the show up. Instead of having the Usos vs Gold/Stardust,Ziggler vs Miz and Sheamus vs Cesaro AGAIN, showcase them with the other guy watching and critiquing. Then if and when they do fight it might actually mean something. I watched the opening 15 mins of this weeks show......and switched it off. It really is the same fucking formula most weeks. I did read a potential spoiler that seems mildly interesting, but I'll FF through the show till I find it.

  13. Speaking of false tan...what's up with the Miz' tan? It stops right at his wrists and is ridiculous. Surely these guys are out and about enough to get natural colour, or at least get a decent false one without looking half done.

  14. I agree patiirc, he sounded like he was struggling with Cry Of Achilles, maybe he has been overdoing it a bit on the road.....I've got tickets for Slash at the Hydro in Decemeber so hopefully he will be better there...

Thought A7X were fantastic...LOVE Hail To The King and it was a superb version....their stage set looks excellent too....

  15. Was watching THAT tag match from Royal Rumble '91 today and something occured to me...as good as he was, Marty Jannetty had the worst dropkicks i've seen....not in a doesnt look right or the tecnique is wrong, just in that i dont think i've ever seen him hit it...he is always at least 6 inches from his opponent....it looks utter shite.....and phoney as fuck....cracking match though!

  16. I've only seen the first hour, as Sky decided to run another fucking upgrade during Raw. I've emailed the fuckers to complain. That's twice in 4 weeks. The Cesaro-Sheamus match was great though. Nice and hard hitting. Just the way I like it.

  17. Foley is a mixed one for me.....I loved his '96 run with Undertaker, his match with HBK, and i dare say without him against HHH in early 2000, Trips might not have been quite the big star he became, or taken a bit longer.....His ability to get you into the match and actually show real sympathy is up there with Steamboat/Michaels/Hart for me.....His matches with Randy Orton and Edge were crackers too....its just he looks like a miserable, pervy SMELLY bastard...and every time he returns, i give a shit even less than the last time....He has a stunning wife, millions in the bank and as has been said his first 2 books were excellent, but now he is just a dirty old man trying to shill his wares and coming across as desperate to boot....his letching over the divas was "Creepy Uncle you have to put up with at functions"....not even in an ironic way..And his constant criticism of the WWE product shows that he perhaps hasn't moved with the times...maybe all those chair shots had a deeper effect than we all realise......

  18. ...Barrett can go fuck himself, an absolutely shitarse who would be lucky to main even a show at my local sports centre.....

Eh? What's wrong with Bad News Barrett? Guy deserves credit for being 100% dedicated to his act and getting such a ridiculous gimmick over. And the match with Sheamus was fucking great.

I just cannot stand him, his shite music, shite robe thing, stupid face with wonky nose and massive ears......his fucking terrible "BOOOOM" thing he does to NO REACTION at all....he is tall and relatively well built....but so was Matt Morgan and he was shite too.....
