  1. Did you? What was his name?

He said his name was Bobby.

    :sneaky:

I'm just guessing he doesn't know, because it's just one of those Daily Mail things people say about some mythical England that existed before now that is actually total bollocks.

Loki, I don't see the point in questioning me to be honest, why would I lie that there used to be a local copper you would recognise and know the name of. It's a bit daft. I couldn't tell you the name of the policeman when I was a kid because it was bloody years ago!

I'm 34 mate. Lived through 4 different prime ministers so old enough to have noticed changes like this through life's experiences.

The fact we often don't know or at least recognise by face our local copper just goes to show how things have changed. We live in a faster paced world with a bigger population and less of a village way of life with a lot of people needing to commute to work spending more time away from their local area.

Yeah but you are lying, I'm 30, my woman's 33 and neither of us remember it. Granted it might have happened in the one year you have over us, but it didn't.

It's really odd that you would attempt to present as fact something you read in the daily mail by pretending it happened to you. But if that's the way we're going, gay immigrants raped my swan and gave the queen aids, I saw it damnit, I was there!

  2. Here's one for ya:

History of a Time to Come or Dreamweaver (Reflections of Our Yesterdays) ?

So no one knows what I'm talking about?

Of course. Sabbat are fantastic. I'm actually paying money to see Arch Enemy to see Sabbat and Enslaved. Sabbat have AMAZING lyrics for a thrash band. Such as in "Do Dark Horses Dream of Nightmares?"

I saw Sabbat when they re-united to support Cradle Of Filth. It was a warm up gig they did just before the tour started in Nottingham for just a fiver and they played for an hour and then mingled with the fans afterwards.

Apparently it was taped and I was very fortunate enough to be there front row centre..... But I'm losing hope on it ever being released.

Not like I'm bragging or anything.....

I co-promoted a sepultura show in london, also not bragging or anything....

  3. I'd love to see Rob Zombie at Donington this year. I'm suprised this hasn't turned into a slagging match over what and what isn't metal (or mallcore) but I'm glad that it hasn't. I like a pretty large chunk of heavy metal, takes up the biggest part of my music collection and taste. My favourite Metal band, and favourite band in general, is Metallica. I've seen them 17 times (with 4 more coming, 5 if they do Download) all round the world and have pretty much everything Metallica you could possibly have. I finally met them last year and they're great guys, its especially interesting to meet them as they are now compared to how they were when I was growing up watching them.

I'll also add to the Sepultura love, never been a big fan of Soulfly or Max in gerneral otherwise but they have some fucking awesome tunes.

There's a few metal bands i've never really 'got'. Metallica being one (Iron maiden being another, there are several more). So i thought i'd ask, give me say 3 songs of Metallica's that will convert me. I have listened to plenty of them i guess, but i don't own aything by them.

Your name is, presumably, in relation to the band? It may well be that maiden and metallica just aren't for you.

But check out 4 horsemen (live version) Last caress (live version, cover but still worthwhile) and whiplash (live version) to get an idea of just how much fun metallica can be.

Maiden, get the live after death double album, and check out stuff off the first album, the actual song iron maiden, running free, stuff like that. Then listen to The evil that men do, that's definately one of their best.

  4. I was expecting Straw to make a tit of himself on immigration after the butchered quote Harry posted before the show but I don't think he did. He's definitely in denial if he genuinely thinks fears about immigration haven't increased BNP support but what he said about it was right. Stuff like putting a cap on population is impossible.

It was a good show. Griffin made an absolute tit of himself. He was shown up totally as a lying bastard who cannot back up any of the things he spews. I thought Waasi was the best guest. She conducted herself well, made good counter arguments and didn't have her head in the sand about key issues.

The only fear I have is how large the proportion of people who, like Harry, somehow feel that Griffin came off well on the show is. All we've heard from the media in the last few days is that British people are intelligent enough to make their own minds up about the BNP. I don't think that is true for a lot of people.

I could be wrong, but from what I remember reading the expenses scandal had far more to do with the BNP getting members in the MEP than anything else.

Essentially, the BNP actually gained less votes this european election than the time before. Their improved standing was nothing with do with extra votes and everything to do with record low turnout. Which can be attributed to the expense scandal.

As far as griffin coming off well on the show? Can't understand how anyone would think that myself. He utterly embarrased himself at every turn. Constantly back peddling and being caught out in direct lies early on. His peddling of "I'm so misquoted, it's so unfair," came apart extraordinarily quickly. His pretending he wasn't with the head of the KKK, swiftly followed by a photo of it, his laughing about holocaust denial. He got destroyed. By his own admissions nazi's hate him for moving the BNP in a more moderate direction, the general population hates him for still being a Nazi, he tried to claim his "Send every last one back," line was to pull the wool over Nazi's eyes - exposing him as a man who is quite happy to lie utterly at the very least.

By the end you could see in his eye's he knew he'd fucked it, his best chance and he'd been utterly destroyed.

    I really enjoyed it :)

    Granted I'm very anti-BNP an
