  1. He really is looking dreadful and working half-arsed, isn't he? Every match he seems to just go through the motions without any conviction whatsoever. His shit hair and stupid mutton chops really don't help. He should get a short mohawk or something.

I'd love him to go for a Travis Bickle look.

The blonde boy band look while he was in Nexus was suited him. He could go back to that and then go all Travis Bickle for a heel turn.

  2. Just started watching 15 Storeys High and it's brilliant, which is shocking seeing as I can't stand Sean Lock. I think he's resigned to barely trying on countless comedy quiz shows because his genius sitcom was ignored by almost everyone.

It was really good and probably ahead of its time. Loved the episode about an energy drink that Locks character gets hooked on.

  3. Agreed. He doesn't sound like much a good friend, pretty obvious hes really poking fun at the guy's misfortune and posting all about it on a football discussion, like you do. Not to mention the crack pun at the start. The clear winner in my book.

  4. Challenge are showing the first series of Stars in their Eyes with Leslie Crowther. It was amazing.

Some odd stuff in there. Crowther has some Yewtree moments, the conversation is full of 'cor, you couldn't get away with THAT now', and stuff like dragging people out there in pantomime outfit versions of what jobs they do before revealing who they're going to be is an odd aesthetic situation.

So bizarre it felt like the Vic and Bob version. He was really touchy freely and in their faces too but turned out the contestants were better than your average X factor finalist.

  5. I'm really looking forward to seeing 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' and 'Her'.

Does anyone know if there's a release date for 'Her' yet?

There was a trailer for Her before Walter Mitty and it looks brilliant but a little like the whole plots given away in the trailer. Mitty was way better than I expected, poignant, original and makes you want to book any old crazy trip on Expedia once you get home.

  6. The girl is unemployed but claims benefits and gets money from the ex so she isn't hard up.

Sorry? Do you understand how hard it actually is for a single parent to raise a child on benefits? Some of the press and the current government would make you believe it's a piece of piss but it really isn't. I'm sure she probably is a bit of an attention seeker given the rest of what you say she posts but I stil don't envy anyone who is in that position.

That would depend on how well off the kids dad is and how much he is paying her.

anyway the kid will old enough for school soon so she will be able to get a part time job during school time

The ex is a very well paid mechanic so she is getting very adequate child support payments.

What's her income got to do with anything? Or his. She sounds incredibly lonely, I hope she finds a place near her mum.

  7. A absolutely brilliant finale and probably the best outcome all round. So glad to see Jesse escape even though it wasn't looking good at the time. Agreed with the others that him choking Todd was the best moment and hugely satisfying. Looking back maybe the Mr Magorium reference in Granite State wasn't just a dig as one of the most important quotes from that movie is from the title character, a dying man looking to leave his legacy to a younger protege, Molly.

When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? [Molly shakes her head] He's written "He dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "He dies." It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." But because of the life we saw prior to the words. [pause, walks over to Molly] I've lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I'm only asking that you turn the page, continue reading... and let the next story begin. And if anyone asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple and modest "He died."
