  1. TYPE O NEGATIVE keyboardist Josh Silver has confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the band's frontman, Peter Steele, passed away yesterday (Wednesday, April 14) at the age of 48. No official cause of death has yet been released, but it is believed that Steele died of heart failure.

  2. Listened to both Alcest and Les Discrets leaks even though i have them ordered (the artwork is perfect). Both very strong albums but Les Discrets wont get the recognition they/he deserve as Alcest are/is so much more well known.

  3. Immolations new album entitled Majesty and Decay came out during the week, i'm only on track 2 but it's sounding awesome. One of the few Death Metal bands that never went totally bollocks after a few years.

Typical fast, harsh pounding sound with some damn sexy riffs. Hope it keeps going like this.

Stolen from another board just now.

  5. Any fans of Vader on this forum?

I'll be off to see them in Glasgow tonight, and I believe they'll be playing in Leeds and Nottingham over the weekend.

Litany is my favorite Death Metal album of all time, shame a lot of thier music is sub par though as they have the potential to be amazing.

  6. Anyone heard Blackjazz by Shining (Norwegian, not the Swedish black metal boyband) yet? It's pure madness and i'm shocked i never heard them before, a wonderful mash of Jazz, Prog and Black/Death Metal.

Linky to a song from the album.

Haven't heard Blackjazz yet, but I've heard In the kingdom of kitsch you will be a monster and Grindstone, both of which are good records.

is my favourite tune of theirs. Fuck me @ that kick in!

For some reason i can't help but think of Stone Cold during the intro to that song, it is awesome and i'll be getting more of thier music.

  7. Anybody checked out Fear Factory's latest album 'Mechanize'? Any good?

It's not too bad, kind of back to thier old sound but none of the tracks stand out at all.

On the topic of heaviness i'd have to say bands like Sunn and Moss, the bass filled droney bands that make you feel like your bowels will explode.

  8. The weirdest promo ever. No idea what this pair are banging on about or why there's a homeless person in the middle of them.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJidYVD56ZI

    That's bizarre. Really, really bizarre.

    And...so is this:

WCW: The Giant (Big Show) Vs. Hulk Hogan in a Monster Truck Sumo Competition

The amount of money that must have been wasted on that...

Heenan made that even better with his sarcastic "exciting" comment.

  9. Has anyone heard the samples of the new Burzum album yet? Sounds promising, Varg's vocals have certainly improved with age.

Also, new Darkthrone soon. Can't wait for a bit more old school Metal.

Sounded a little too typical BM for me apart from track 5, now that sounds like some awesome Black Thrash track in the making.

New Alcest next month, not really metal as such but has elements and urinates over most metal anyway, probably looking forward to that more than any other album ever.

  10. So i've listened to Master of Puppets. And i really wasn't that impressed, it's ok i guess.

It's at this point that you leave the thread, and never return.

I haven't laughed so much today until i read that, the guy isn't allowed to have his own tastes?

  11. So i've listened to Master of Puppets. And i really wasn't that impressed, it's ok i guess. It's the vocals that i don't like and it puts me off nearly any Metallica song.

As for Slayer, love them. Yeah alot of there stuff is the same but it's great. I like all their albums.

I'd recommend Beneath the Remains by Sepultura if you prefer Slayer to Metallica, you may like the two previous albums by them but the production is a lot less and they have more of a death metal sound.

  12. Anyone a fan of Brazilian Thrash? I mean apart from the usual suspects.

Bands like Korzus and Chakal are just awesome but never got known outside of south america, it's a shame as they were just as good as some of the better known English speaking bands.
