To keep up to date with the British National Championship and give your views on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/IPWUKBNCFor one full calendar year starting November 2012, IPW:UK will run the second ever British National Championship - a tournament of huge proportions - 29 professional wrestlers from every corner of Great Britain will begin, only one man can win!THE FORMATThere are 16 first round matches, consisting of two wrestlers facing off against each other. The winner is decided by one single fall, with a 20-minute time limit to each bout. Should the time limit be reached, both wrestlers would exit the tournament. Three matches are decided automatically by "bye" into the second round (the three champions). There are then 8 second round matches over 30-minute time limits, four quarter-finals were contested over 40-minute time limits and two semi-finals contested over one hour. The final has no time limit and this year will be contested best 2/3 falls and with all wrestlers excluding the two involved strictly barred from ringside for this bout. Dates, bracketing and match day selection will be completed based on ease of geographical location. The wrestlers chosen for this tournament were deemed to be the most suitable by not only the selection committee, but also by their peers. Due to the National status, the reigning All-England Champion (Sha Samuels) will defend their title in each round. As a result, the winner of this tournament would also finish as the current reigning All-England Champion. Other titles (IPW:UK World Title, IPW:UK Tag Team Titles, etc) would not be on the line.

There we have it, the 07/08 tournament was a huge success if a huge headache, but in keeping with IPW:UK returning to the roots that made us so great, the BNC is back!

Cheers bud :).

It starts Nov 17th with the opening round running until March and will end at the Anniversary events in September next year. We had a round of 64 last time we did it and i honestly think there's easily enough talent to do a full 32 match opening round this time too, but it's a massive massive undertaking, so we went with the safe option starting with a round of 32.

Don't blame you , defo enough talent for the 64 but I wouldn't want to be the promoter who has to organise it all :p
