Paid Members Nostalgia Nonce Posted August 4, 2011 Paid Members Report Share Posted August 4, 2011 In a nutshell, the monitor for my desktop PC had an accident. Whilst in Tesco today, I see these smallish LCD TVs with built in DVD players that claim they can be used as a PC monitor. Â Are they as good as a regular LCD monitor, or best left alone? KFR42
I know a few people who use small TVs instead of miontiors. I myself run my pc through the TV in my lounge. Obviously it depends on the quality of the TV but it should be fine.

In a nutshell, not usually, but for deskspace and cost they're a winner.  The resolution of my 22 inch TV used as a PC screen has a res of 1366x768. My 24inch monitor at work has a res of 1920 x 1200.  The TV's perfectly ok as a monitor, but you won't normally get the same res as a dedicated monitor.
