PepperPlunge
Recently, I've been pondering upon the possibilities of working offshore on oil rigs. I'm 20 on Tuesday (hate to think I'll be that age soon - too old to be a teenager but too young to be 21) and don't have any experience in engineering/manual labour. I know that the most common schedule is 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off with 12 hour shifts every day for those 2 weeks. I work in a phone shop at the moment and whilst the people there are great, our store struggles and I don't really consider myself a sales person at heart. Â Does anyone on here work off shore? If so, how did you get into the job? What job did you start off at and which job do you have now? What's your take on it? My sister's boyfriend works offshore and I'm hoping for him to ask if there's any vacancies and put a word in as I hear the case is often who you know rather than what you know. Paid Members SiMania Posted May 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted May 7, 2011 I think NorthSeaTiger who posts on here works offshore, he's based near Aberdeen I think, if he doesn't post in here then it might be work PMing him.
