  1. Ashton Kutcher IS Peter Venkman!

Ashton isn't even fit to play Louis Tully.
this did, however, get me thinking on who would be connected to the project, if it were to be made now with a younger cast. i can't help but think ben stiller and owen wilson would have something to do with it...-c-
  2. i was watching wrestlemania 10 last night for the first time in years. the end to the main event seemed like a bit of a cop out, especially as bret had pretty much "legitimately" beaten yokozuna at wrestlemania 9. was it a case of yoko being protected by the booker or was there a plan to go anywhere with the end to the match being a fluke?

  3. Just watched the Wrestlemania IX Countdown Show, and Yokozuna used a savage version of the Banzai drop on two jobbers. I mean he squashed, looked so painful. Just wondering when he stopped doing it in such a viscious manner, and was anyone hurt by his move?

i think i remember hearing he broke jim duggans collarbone during a match they had over here, possibly one of the sheffield events.then there's all the jobbers but others have already passed comment on that... :)regarding another wrestler getting hurt, i'm sure i seem to remember reading that the undertaker got legitimately hurt by giant gonzales when he ran in during the royal rumble and actually had pretty nasty injuries as a result. anyone know what happened or if it just got blown out of proportion?
  4. If anything, Rey's weight is boosted. Either by the patented Titan Exaggerate-o-Matic through which all WWE wrestlers to give them an extra couple of inches/few pounds (as evidenced by his WWE.com profile) or by his "vitamins".I remember when this guy was Rey Mysterio...rey.jpg

that image isn't working but i'm guessing it's from when he was ecw or wcw and really was this tiny little guy. there's no denying, however, that he's carrying a lot more bulk these days. i'm not entirely convinced that his weight's exagerated to make him heavier, though..-c
  5. i was watching wrestlemania again last night and i've been wondering about rey mysterio's weight. officially, i think he's 5' 3" 165lb.i weighed myself at the gym last night and came in at just over 96kg. a quick bit of maths tells me that's just over 211lb. and i'm 5' 6". and nowhere near as heavily built as rey looks.am i right to question rey's weight? do you think they're playing it down to make him even more of an underdog? or is three inches enough to realistically equate to a near 50lb weight difference? i think i'm probably quite dense for my size but i'd have thought rey's still carrying a lot more muscle than me.

  6. thanks for your answers guys.one more question. last night i watched the "wrestling with shadows" documentary on dvd at a friends house. i'd seen it before on bbc2 but it was years and years ago but i'm sure i remember some thing that didn't seem to be on the dvd. admittedly there were a few of us there so we could have talked over some bits or i could just be imagining some things. three things i missed that i'm sure were there: 1) when i saw it on tv, i'm fairly certain the announcer gave it an 'offensive language' warning and it started off with pat patterson swearing about something 2) there was a bit where bret's talking about the art of wrestling and they show the undertaker kicking him in the corner and bret says something like "the kicks look like they hurt but in truth he never even touched me" 3) there's a bit where bret's talking about being brought up in the wrestling business and says that when he was a kid the wrestlers used to come to the house to get their paycheques and one week a heel wrestler, who the night before had been beating his dad up on tv, came to the door and he couldn't understand why his mum let him and his dad gave him money.did i imagine any of the above or did i see them elsewhere?thanks again.

  7. a few questions: 1) when did the royal rumble go from being 2 minute intervals to 90 second intervals between contestants? or did i just imagine that change... was there ever a reason given for it?2) how do wrestlers with long hair keep their hair looking wet during matches? i always thought that it was just water but i realised recently that if i go running with wet hair my hair dries out really quickly so i came to the conclusion that it's probably hair oil, or something.3) when wrestlers get tattoos done, how do they keep on training? i appreciate a lot of work is done on time off but surely rehab and training must make it pretty difficult to let tattoos heal properly? 4) when did it become the rule that the royal rumble winner went on to face to title holder at mania?

  8. i remember years ago, and i mean maybe 6 or 7, i found a site that had what i can only assume to be either house show promos or a very good impressionist. there were a lot from the rock and austin and bret but one that sticks in my mind the most was one where hhh said he had the biggest balls in the company. it was hilarious. it'd be great to find some of them again.however, i'd also appreciate some jericho promos from wcw. i didn't see a lot of them, but i've heard very good things.cheers,.c.

  9. cheers fella, that looks like exactly what i've been looking for. aside from the fact that when i tried buying one to find out what the shipping costs would be like, all i could get was the following:

This shopping cart has concluded its testing phase, and awaits activation

    lame....ah well, i'll see if i can email them about it.thanks again,.c.
  10. You've got some spare time, reading through 137 pages of questions :p

well, in a way... i'm a web designer for the government. my job can be quite mundane so flicking between the board and work it took me 4 days to get through it.did mean i neglected livejournal for most of the last week though. i'll probably have, like, ten pages of friends entries to catch up with next week. still, what else is work for? ;)c
  11. does anyone know where i could get a referee shirt?

If you want it for refereeing, try someone that stocks American football equipment. The referee shirt used on Raw is based on the football officials' shirt. They may even use them themselves, for all I know.If you want it as a fashion item, this is probably no use to you.Here.
bit of both. the guy i know who wants one mainly wants it as a fail safe fancy dress option. but i can imagine him just wearing it normally.if i bought one for myself, i'd probably wear it occaisionally.thanks, btw.c
  12. well, i've been meaning to join this forum for quite sometime. shame it now seems to be populated by smarks. ah well...

Good way to break the ice. :/
well it's true, you read through the last 137 pages and tell me there weren't some smark questions asked that really should be quite evident. and yes, they were quite often flamed and yes the point was raised that the number of smarks here has been on the increase.for the record, it's not unknown for me to react like a smark to some things but i'm trying to work on that... ;)c
  13. well, i've been meaning to join this forum for quite sometime. shame it now seems to be populated by smarks. ah well...anyway, i've just spent the last few days reading through this thread. learnt a few new things but was mostly just impressed by the knowledge on here.i'm sure there's a whole lot of things i want to ask, but i can't think of anything right now so i'll just ask this: does anyone know where i could get a referee shirt? preferably a wwe one (reckon the hebners might have any going spare..? ;)) but a typical one would also be fine. one of my mates has been looking for one for ages. i thought highspots might stock them but i can't see them.also, it seems strange to me that no-one's been making replica wrestling shirts. you'd think there'd be quite a market for it, at least a website making hi-res images that can be used to get your own made.thanks in advance, chris
