  1. I reckon it was Gatso. He's returned to rape the forum like he raped that lass.

About this Gatso stuff: I don't want to be a bandwagoner / stereotypical tabloid reader, but that post of his really was quite disturbing. Out of curiosity, what would the UKFF mods/owners legal obligations be if somehow that post ever came back to haunt him? Because if he's dim enough to post in writing that detailed an account of the night in question, it figures he's also bandied about the same account in his everyday life under the guise of it being an amusing lads story. Either that was a legit story (with obvious ramifications) or it was made up, which is what he now asserts, which means that he thinks that making up a detailed account about (what can be construed as) rape counts as an entertaining, slap-on-the-back lads story.

  2. Also. Utterly off topic, but King of Swing - what the hell?! Your sig I mean.

Its part of a post (by Gatso who I think has since been banned) from the one night stand thread.

Anyway back on topic I tend to agree with you on this being necessary because Gadaffi has shown he is not the kind of "man" to peacfully give up power.

Off topic: I just read the post in question. Are the bods in charge of UKFF liable to report that or something? He says that's a wind up which doesn't hold terribly much water. If it is true, without wishing to sound like an enraged tabloid reader or a bandwagoner, then that's disgusting. It literally reads like a rape confession dressed up as lads banter. It could be worse, but only if Danny Dyer read it aloud.

ON topic - Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain. Who's up for a sweepstake on where's next? It's all dictatorships, clearly there's a domino effect going on here. People are starting to believe they really can take their countries back. It's going to be horrific in the short term but you have to believe this will ultimately be positive progress. Unfortunately bloodshed and violence seem like inevitable consequences of such drastic change taking place.

  3. A maelstrom of feeling regarding the situation in the Middle East right now. Awful as the status quo is, I really want to be optimistic that this is necessary for true freedom to come to the region. That sounds a bit Obama-esque but you know what I mean. A serious domino effect for pro-democracy demonstrators throughout the region, and it makes you wonder where such an uprising may happen next.

Also. Utterly off topic, but King of Swing - what the hell?! Your sig I mean.

  4. Afraid so. This is the entrant deemed most similar to The Rock. Given he's the only entrant though, he's simultaneously the least similar entrant too, so it balances out. I'm guessing #2 on that list is somewhat obvious, if only for the black t shirt and bald head, but would you guess #1? Really, this lady is rather flattering herself outrageously.

There's a Summerslam main event right there.

Also, a frankly awful website called http://www.celebrityhappening.com which runs celebrity lookalike contests. Here are the current leaders (and the only contestants) for three wrestling-related lookalike contests. Let's see if you can guess who they're supposed to be (without resorting to visiting the site or checking the file names)

  6. The only part of that article I disagree with is doctors being fearful of speaking up - they have, and do, but their concerns have clearly not been registered. They have a union but of course cannot strike because they put their patients welfare first. Which is a shame because that short-term compromise of patient welfare would be a drop in the ocean compared to what the government's reforms have in store for us all.

Trouble is, doctors are genuinely fearful of their careers if they speak up. The way dissent is generally managed in the NHS is to suspend the dissenter, interview colleagues (pointing out how quickly they could find themselves in the shit too), review records...find the remotest, smallest most trivial piece of shit to pin on them, and use this to destroy careers. Meanwhile, these abusers are without oversight and are generally promoted for their efforts.

Take the "jobbygate" scandal; a Scottish junior doctor calls (quite rightly) one of the architects of MTAS (a scheme that has destroyed training for junior doctors) a "fucking shit" on a private forum, and is drummed out of the profession for his trouble.

Jobbygate - start reading from the bottom.

That is utterly disturbing. I must confess, I had not heard about this furore, but if that is how it is handled then perhaps I should advise my wife to restrain herself from making these comments. The way she describes it to me, everyone actually involved in healthcare is in agreement that it's all bullshit, but she doesn't get much interaction with the pen pushers in the offices who, it seems, carry all the real clout.

I wonder if I should curb my own venting on public forums too, for fear of such discrimination by proxy.

Clearly you are in the know about these things - may I ask what your link to the profession is, if any? Fact is, we should all as taxpayers be outraged at how they're destroying the healthcare system we pay for, but stuff like this is incredibly under-reported in the media. We're all aware of the latest silly stunt from Lady Gaga, or Jordan's latest break-up, and even the intricate speculation over the details of a marriage between two posh people in April. Yet, the stuff that actually matters, that people have a genuine vested interest in, is swept under the carpet.

  7. I'm more than happy with a comfortable win there, but I'm not expecting a massive turn-around for Wales. All we needed was a win even just to give us a bit of confidence.

I'm utterly shocked at how bad Scotland played mind. Even when we had 2 men in the bin they could still only manage 3 points on us. They should have been all over us there.

That's such a telling statistic of how shit Scotland were too - Wales down to 13 men and all they got was a penalty. Absolutely woeful. Pains me to say it, but England or France would have put 50 points on Scotland under the same circumstances. (The whole match I mean, not just the 13 men period)

  8. Chris Ashton is a showboating cunt.

    But a tremendous player.

Wales v Scotland was a dreadful mess, and any Welsh supporter thinking this some sort of new dawn is setting themselves up for a big fall. Scotland were utterly, utterly hopeless and Wales not a massive amount better.

BBC's coverage of the latter match this afternoon was a fucking disgrace. People wonder why the Celts are so "chippy", when during the half time of a Scotland-Wales match, they elect not to discuss the game at hand but to show highlights of England earlier in the day. Ditto post-match. The decision to cut off Nick Mallett's interview (in favour of some inane chat between that woman who knows fuck all about rugby and Lewis Moody) was also spectacularly midjudged. Things like this - the constant tailoring of content to English viewers especially when it's not even their match as irritating as hell.

  9. I just think it's utterly, utterly immoral. There's no good reason for it. Britain is always going to be a major financial centre because it's always been one. The FTSE isn't just going to stop being one of the biggest stock markets in the world because France and Germany up their game. The language, for a start, gives us a massive advantage. It's all well and good to say that lowering taxes encourages businesses to locate here, but the whole point of the Laffer Curve is that if you tax at 0%, you get zero income from it. The job creation powers of these financial institutions, nor the tax paid by their employees comes close to countering the impact this will have. And that's not to mention the thoroughly obscene fact that we'll end up taking tax out of other countries and creating a precedent that this sort of behaviour is OK.

It was bad enough that we bailed these bastards out. Now we're bribing them just to exist.

Simply not true and a bit of a myopic view. Clearly and overwhelmingly, the only major financial powerhouses that impress like they'll remain on the horizon are the United States and China. Us, France and Germany will eventually because distant second-tier players.

Your closing paragraph, however, is bang on the money.

Edit: One wonders sometimes if Cameron et al aren't trying to wring out every last benefit and penny for themselves and their mates before this country is finally dry. At first I was optimistic that after the great Labour balls up, a change of government might finally stop the rot. And initially I was hopeful, the spending cuts, though unpopular, are necessary. Then things like this creep into the equation and you realise its just the same old shit. We as a nation are either too apathetic, too stupid or too polite to revolt the way we'd have to if true and lasting change will ever come to this country.

  10. I love some of the responses to him on youtube:

"stop asking questions. stop taking videos. do not make this difficult for us in the future."

    :D

The flood of "We're watching you" responses is hilarious. Also look out for someone who's posted a comment under the guise of the NSA too. Inspired. Baiting nutters = fun.

I'm gonna have to ask you to stop documenting FBI activities for your own safety. This is your final warning.

  11. Nabbed this off Facebook:

We are all binary in a matrix. add your year of birth '74 for example plus your age this coming year - 111. and anyone born after 2000 will always add up to 11............food for thought

    I'm 35 this year, born '76. 35 + 76 = 111

Anyone it doesn't work for? I wanna know!

Bizarre... Or can any naturally scientifically inclined left brain thinkers explain it away? :)

Duane, I have a big spoiler for you

If you apply the same rule to someone born in the 19th century, then their one will add up to 211.

    AND

When you try this next year, everyone's number will end in 12!

    BUT

This, Duane, is absolutely BASIC mathematics. What the fuck are you doing posting it in this thread?

There's nothing paranormal or spooky about it.

Is this really that much of a revelation to you? That the current year minus the year you were born will always equal your age during the current year. It will always end up ending in 11 because this is 2011. You are a fucking moron.

  12. Tried to make it my day job, but it's a struggling industry as it is without my area being over-run with others undercutting each other. I do the odd bit of proper photography (weddings, babies, portraits, events, etc..) but I'd rather keep as a hobby with the occassional cash bonus, as I think if I was spending all my time trying to scrape by on every bit of paid work I could get, then I'd end up hating it.

Which is how I feel about my day job which is as a web designer. Ended up carving a niche as an outsourcer for larger companies, but nearly jacked it in when the going was tough. I did find a flimsy excuse to have NSFW stuff on my computer though - I did a porn website for an entrepreneur which never took off.

Back to the original topic - photos
