  1. I have one for the BritWres fans - did Hubba Bubba Lucha ever wrestle Project Ego? Forgive me if their existence as tandems didn't ever overlap, I'm not very clued up when it comes to domestic stuff. Just wondering if they did, when, where etc.

Pretty certain during my period of refereeing I spent more time refereeing these four guys against each other (though sometimes with Scotty Hexx and Martin Kirby switching places) than any other tag grouping. Doubt there is much footage of it from GNP and whatever promotion it was that Brad Flash ran.

  2. Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift

I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift.

No shit? After the last passenger he didn't pick up any more? Even the idiot that wrote it gave up paying it any attention by the end.

I have/had numerous twats on my FB who would post this shit, and when taken through Snopes explanations, countered with "Well I know it's true". I've kept one because he's a mate, just gullible, but all the fools that I went to school with who do this are sacked.

I'm the same, but one of them I'm studying at Uni with, so I'm rather stuck talking to her at least for the next two years as it's likely I'll end up doing group work of some kind with her. She even tried saying that Snopes wasn't a newspaper, and therefore wasn't a legitimate source. Yet was happy to believe that her mate who just copied a status off another mate can't be wrong.

  3. Julie Burchill wrote Sugar Rush. That's all you need to know.

It was actually a pretty good show, the only one of my votes that didn't make it (Bill, Prison Break, Prisoner, and Doctor Who in reverse order being my others, I don't watch many dramas), so...

Well that, and pat rates it, which is the clincher.

Well fuck. I'd like to change my plea your honour?

  4. Ugh. . WWE feels pretty fresh at the minute, the last thing I want to see is an Orton push. I don't get it myself - dull, contrived matches, boring character whether heel or face, totally wooden on the stick - honestly, the most I've liked Orton was recently as a tag wrestler with Sheamus, that was fun. His role should be the guy the rising star goes through before they move onto Cena like they did with Bryan.

Orton has a fair bit of love on here so there will be many who disagree with you. Including myself

Does he? I've never seen it. Seen plenty of people pointing out he's boring as all fuck though.

What I'd like to see happen with Orton is him get three wellness strikes so he can piss off for good.

  5. I actually watched it all the way through earlier, and there's a bit near the end where Chase is almost out, then winds up back in the ring being double teamed, and the commentary repeats (but in a different style, so clearly two different takes) the stuff about Chase almost being eliminated and is on the apron, all while he's in the middle of the ring. So it seems like even the person who edited it together didn't give a toss by that point.

  6. In all seriousness, I think this has potential, but as a wrestling podcast first and foremost. That's the common interest and I honestly think that there are smarter fans on the forum than a lot of those that run pretty popular wrestling podcasts out there. If it turns into an audio version of the chatroom, it'll probably suffer the same fate. The only people bothered about it will be the few people that have posted in the thread so far.

I was thinking have a show focused on the week in wrestling, hosted mainly by the guys who watch it regularly (and are actually worth listening to, no twats allowed), something like Ian's done with the Indy Wank stuff, as that will go down a treat, then other shows can be non-wrestling related as well, depending on what people want to do (I'd happily do the Desert Island Discs thing again that I did on RadioScum and Demon FM).

  7. I could possibly have a word with the guy who's got the Mafia Scum radio running and see about us doing it all through that, no bugger is using it at the moment anyway and they want to get it started up again, at least this way we'll have more content overall going out. That way we can do it like an actual radio station as well and can actually broadcast straight through Winamp either live, or can pre-record and just hit play at the right time slot.

  8. Yes aslong as you don't own a TMNT jacket or wallet or something that the public will see. Behind closed doors is fine.

Pretty sure I still have a TMNT wallet in a box somewhere... used to use it when I'd visit my mates for the summer as it was somewhere handy to throw the money solely for travel. Also meant a few months later when I found it again while cleaning out the room I'd always uncover a fiver or a tenner that I'd left in there and forgot about.
  9. Mine was slightly lower but iv'e always got the lowest amount it's possible to get due to household income. What Mike mentioned is what I fear will stop me from being entitled to it. Thanks for all the answers guys, if anyone knows more i'd appreciate it, could just stop being a lazy arse and head up there though.

According to a friend who finished this year and just tried to claim, you can claim JSA from June 14th.

  10. Yeah I thought that but the potential issue is iv'e applied for student finance next year for my course at my local tech and i'll probably get something so i'm not sure whether that prohibits me from claiming dole during the summer months or not.

My girlfriend had to stop Uni in the middle of the year due to medical reasons, they've started paying her ESA from the date the next student finance was due to be paid. So basically they view it as your last student finance payment should take you up to the next one. In this case your next payment would be due September time whether you are getting it or not, and so you are likely to only be paid from that date onward. However there is a chance that you may be entitled to claim anyway, as my comment is more assumption based on a similar issue rather than the exact same one.

  11. Oh and due to needing a piss and then getting an ice cream, I completely missed Virgil getting squashed by Adam Bomb.

My mate had a similar, but slightly worse, issue when we went to Insurrextion. He sods off to the bogs at which point Bulldog's theme hits and he charges the ring. Mate returns just in time for Bulldog's music to finish after he's gone back up the aisle after beating Crash Holly for the Hardcore Title.

  12.

I remember having this on a cassette back in the day on some random compilation. Not sure I've ever seen the video before, amazingly.

and I played it on Demon FM to open my Wrestlemania episode of Demon Island Discs, which should have gone out at 8am, but wound up going out at 6pm due to some tit screwing everything up... pretty sure nobody was massively impressed with that song being played.

  13. Jonny Storm v Paul Burchill from the (now demolished) Winter Gardens in Cleethorpes

Cracking, didn't even know that was being recorded. First UK show I attended, and while I know I'm in shot (I'm one of the four sat at the back facing the camera) I'm fucked if I can work out which one I am due to the image quality. Pretty sure Lion of the Midlands is at the back there with me as well.

  14. Had this crop up earlier... now I'm stuck in a debate about how it's shite with the dopey sod who posted it, and two of her mates who seem to believe that "cutting out diet stuff and exercising will help us, and prove this article is right"... no, it will prove that not drinking crap drinks and doing exercise gets you fitter, not that diet drinks are filled with poison.

I'd delete the idiot if not for the fact that I'm stuck at Uni with her, thus need to easily keep in touch for any possible assignments I'm stuck with her in (god help me).

    A MUST READ....

    SWEET KILLER.

"In October of 2001, my sister started getting very sick She had stomach spasms and she was having a hard time getting around. Walking was a major chore. It took everything she had just to get out of bed; she was in so much pain.

By March 2002, she had undergone several tissue and muscle biopsies and was on 24 various prescription medications. The doctors could not determine what was wrong with her. She was in so much pain, and so sick she just knew she was dying.

She put her house, bank accounts, life insurance, etc., in her oldest daughter's name, and made sure that her younger children were to be taken care of.

She also wanted her last hooray, so she planned a trip to Florida (basically in a wheelchair) for March 22nd.

On March 19, I called her to ask how her most recent tests went, and she said they didn't find anything on the test, but they believe she had MS.

I recalled an article a friend of mine e-mailed to me and I asked my sister if she drank diet soda? She told me that she did. As a matter of fact, she was getting ready to crack one open that moment.

I told her not to open it, and to stop drinking the diet soda! I e-mailed her an article my friend, a lawyer, had sent. My sister called me within 32 hours after our phone conversation and told me she had stopped drinking the diet soda AND she could walk! The muscle spasms went away. She said she didn't feel 100% but, she sure felt a lot better.

She told me she was going to her doctor with this article and would call me when she got home.

Well, she called me, and said her doctor was amazed! He is going to call all of his MS patients to find out if they consumed artificial sweeteners of any kind. In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the diet soda.. and literally dying a slow and miserable death

When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, and that was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to a complete recovery. And she is walking! No wheelchair! This article saved her life.If it says 'SUGAR FREE' on the label; DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE on 'ASPARTAME,' marketed as'Nutra Sweet,' 'Equal,' and 'Spoonful.'In the keynote address by the EPA, it was announced that in the United States in 2001 there is an epidemic of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus. It was difficult to determine exactly what toxin was causing this to be rampant. I stood up and said that I was there to lecture on exactly that subject.

I will explain why Aspartame is so dangerous: When the temperature of this sweetener exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus.

Many people were being diagnosed in error. Although multiple sclerosis is not a death sentence, Methanol toxicity is!

Systemic lupus has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers. The victim usually does not know that the Aspartame is the culprit. He or she continues its use; irritating the lupus to such a degree that it may become a life-threatening condition. We have seen patients with systemic lupus become asymptotic, once taken off diet sodas.

In cases of those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, most of the symptoms disappear. We've seen many cases where vision loss returned and hearing loss improved markedly.

This also applies to cases of tinnitus and fibromyalgia. During a lecture, I said, 'If you are using ASPARTAME (Nutra Sweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc) and you suffer from fibromyalgia symptoms, spasms, shooting, pains, numbness in your legs,

    Cramps,

    Vertigo,

    Dizziness,

    Headaches,

    Tinnitus,

    Joint pain,

Unexplainable depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision, or memory loss you probably have ASPARTAME poisoning!' People were jumping up during the lecture saying,'I have some of these symptoms. Is it reversible?'

    Yes!

    Yes!

    Yes!

STOP drinking diet sodas and be alert for Aspartame on food labels! Many products are fortified with it! This is a serious problem. Dr. Espart (one of my speakers) remarked that so many people seem to be symptomatic for MS and during his recent visit to a hospice; a nurse stated that six of her friends, who were heavy Diet Coke addicts, had all been diagnosed with MS. This is beyond coincidence!

Diet soda is NOT a diet product! It is a chemically altered, multiple SODIUM (salt) and ASPARTAME containing product that actually makes you crave carbohydrates.

It is far more likely to make you GAIN weight!

These products also contain formaldehyde, which stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and thighs. Formaldehyde is an absolute toxin and is used primarily to preserve 'tissue specimens.'

Many products we use every day contain this chemical but we SHOULD NOT store it IN our body!

Dr. H. J. Roberts stated in his lectures that once free of the 'diet products' and with no significant increase in exercise; his patients lost an average of 19 pounds over a trial period.Aspartame is especially dangerous for diabetics. We found that some physicians, who believed that they had a patient with retinopathy, in fact, had symptoms caused by Aspartame. The Aspartame drives the blood sugar out of control. Thus diabetics may suffer acute memory loss due to the fact that aspartic acid and phenylalanine are NEUROTOXIC when taken without the other amino acids necessary for a good balance.

Treating diabetes is all about BALANCE.. Especially with diabetics, the Aspartame passes the blood/brain barrier and it then deteriorates the neurons of the brain; causing various levels of brain damage, Seizures, Depression, Manic depression, Panic attacks, Uncontrollable anger and rage.Consumption of Aspartame causes these same symptoms in non-diabetics as well. Documentation and observation also reveal that thousands of children diagnosed with ADD and ADHD have had complete turnarounds in their behavior when these chemicals have been removed from their diet.

So called 'behavior modification prescription drugs' (Ritalin and others) are no longer needed.Truth be told, they were never NEEDED in the first place! Most of these children were being 'poisoned' on a daily basis with the very foods that were 'better for them than sugar.'It is also suspected that the Aspartame in thousands of pallets of diet Coke and diet Pepsi consumed by men and women fighting in the Gulf War, may be partially to blame for the well-known Gulf War Syndrome.

Dr. Roberts warns that it can cause birth defects, i.e. mental retardation, if taken at the time of conception and during early pregnancy. Children are especially at risk for neurological disorders and should NEVER be given artificial sweeteners.

There are many different case histories to relate of children suffering grand mal seizures and other neurological disturbances talking about a plague of neurological diseases directly caused by the use of this deadly poison.'

Herein lies the problem: There were Congressional Hearings when Aspartame was included in 100 different products and strong objection was made concerning its use. Since this initial hearing, there have been two subsequent hearings, and still nothing has been done. The drug and chemical lobbies have very deep pockets.

Sadly, MONSANTO'S patent on Aspartame has EXPIRED! There are now over 5,000 products on the market that contain this deadly chemical and there will be thousands more introduced. Everybody wants a 'piece of the Aspartame pie.'I assure you that MONSANTO, the creator of Aspartame, knows how deadly it is.

And isn't it ironic that MONSANTO funds, among others, the American Diabetes Association, the American Dietetic Association and the Conference of the American College of Physicians?

This has been recently exposed in the New York Times. These [organizations] cannot criticize any additives or convey their link to MONSANTO because they take money from the food industry and are required to endorse their products.Senator Howard Metzenbaum wrote and presented a bill that would require label warnings on products containing Aspartame, especially regarding pregnant women, children and infants.

The bill would also institute independent studies on the known dangers and the problems existing in the general population regarding seizures, changes in brain chemistry, neurological changes and behavioural symptoms.

The bill was killed. It is known that the powerful drug and chemical lobbies are responsible for this, letting loose the hounds of disease and death on an unsuspecting and uninformed public. Well, you're informed now!"

  15. Judges rule in favor of girl who claimed workfare schemes were unlawful.

This is going to cause a shitstorm. Hundreds of people have been made unemployed so that employers can take advantage of the free labour, and Job Centres up and down the country have been criticised for telling claimants that taking these posts is mandatory.

I particularly like how the DWP have made no attempts to apologise for this, instead focussing on how they'll be changing the guidelines to ensure they don't have to repay anyone who has had their payments stopped dishonestly.

and less than 24 hours later, they're extending the schemes instead... because y'know, fuck the courts or something, I dunno.

  16. To be honest, Mike, those Mafia threads were probably the reason you got votes. Rightly or wrongly, you seemed to be the poster associated with them and they were shit.

I'll still argue they aren't shit. It's a good game, but clearly not for everybody, and looking back they were constantly around as the second one finished, another began. The thing that made them seem crap was pretty much me anyway, I rambled on way too much, restating the same point every time almost and bored the fuck out of everyone. Also we could have done with more guys like Nexus, Jaffa, JLM and co in them, and less of the Snake, Simmons and myself. I've said it before, but I'm better at running the things than playing them.

You are right though, there was a backlash against those threads and I was the target, but I was probably a deserved target. However lets not pretend that outside of them the majority of what I posted wasn't also boring tripe.

  17. Had a thought this morning I may have ended up in White Noise or something, rather glad I got away with another year of no negativity. Props to Ronnie again for doing all of this, always seems like a mountain of work but makes this place a little more interesting this time of year.

I got out of dodge by actually taking note that I was posting a fuck-ton of shite, and this time round just not posting if I felt all I was about to post was a fuck-ton of shite. It's a win/win, I don't type as much crap, and nobody else gets stuck reading it. It has meant I post about once a month at best, but it's definitely better that way.
